About my blog

Hi everyone, I'm Sally and I'm an aspiring writer, avid anime watcher and miraculer. Recently on note of my writing however, I have started to write fanfiction more while my original fiction sits in my drafts due to a lack of motivation which I hope I will get back one day but for now fanfic it is.

I just thought I'd make a post to kind of give an idea about what my blog will cover. For a start my blog is multifandom so whenever I get a new obsession I might go on a reblogging spree about the fandom I got invested in but overall there are a few main fandoms that tend to stick but in different ways.

The first main fandom my blog has, is well miraculous and it has been a staple since forever and while I do not write fanfic for it, I tend to try and analyse episodes whenever new episodes come out and so far that has held, the rest is simply reblogs and stuff like that. If you do want to check the analyses, I've put them under the tag ml thoughts and they start from daddycop, I do have earlier posts under that tag but theyre when I didn't really know how to do character analyses so they're just random statements, I only get a little serious in and after the daddycop episode post in miraculous season 6.

The second fandom is MHA, while I am not that active in it, I do write fanfiction and its usually always izuocha fanfiction and no other ship. So far I've mostly written them as being in established relationships but there is sometimes the exception but most of the time they are already together so its never really a will they, won't they.

These are the fanfics that I'm currently writing or are completed:

Shades of Grey (A completed relatively short three part fic with villain Uraraka and hero student Izuku who are soulmates in a universe where alongside quirks, people get soulmates.)

The Queen's Choice (a oneshot set in a medevial au where Ochacko is queen and widowed and was previously married to Izuku who had been king)

How to stop the creation of child soldiers (An OC centric ongoing quirkless alternate universe where Izuku and Ochacko are married and leaders of a specific district and are tasked with taking care of Ochacko's nephew, I try to update every Friday unless I have exams like I do this week)

University students and Vigilantes (An ongoing fic set when they're eighteen where Izuku is quirkless but a vigilante and is dating Ochacko who failed to get into UA and is now a first year nursing student and lost her parents an year before, I have a bunch of chapters prewritten but since I have to edit I update overtime but I do try to get out an update every week)

I also have a side blog where I put my dark poetry or short prose and where I haven't been as active but will link regardless in case I do feel like going back to poetry writing:

online numbers can really fuck you up when it comes to your creative work because you're sharing something you worked on with all your heart but it's very important to remember there's actual people behind those numbers. even if it's 1. that's one whole actual person. that's a human being who said "haha nice". that's a connection with a REAL person with a REAL life and REAL thoughts and feelings and experiences. like. damn. that should mean something

Miraculous Ladybug: Queen of the Dreadzone

Unpopular opinion, but I actually liked "Queen of the Dreadzone." Visually, it was just fun, but it also moved the story forward. And I don't think it destroyed Chloe's character or made her irredeemable. She was clearly a spoiled brat and the villain of this episode. But the person who said she was just truly awful and would inspire others "to make evil trendy" was secret supervillain Noe. Chloe has been shaped and manipulated into this by her mother and brother. It doesn't mean that's truly who she is at her core, it's just what they need her to be. Furthermore, I still believe that Chloe is a sentimonster, and that she was designed to "lead" (hence the bullying.) She's being used by her mother and brother. I also think Andre could have pushed back against a lot of this, but chose not to, making him one of the worst parents of Miraculous (and that's saying something.) Personally, I like Zoe, and completely understand how Zoe and Marinette think Chloe is irredeemable. But (ignoring social media posts) I think there's still hope for Chloe in future seasons.

I'm gonna say it.

It's unhinged to assume that someone's taste in fiction equates to what they believe is moral or good, or is something they want to see or experience in real life.

That is a bonkers assumption to make.

I'm tired of humoring people with long arguments about it when the simple fact is it is a totally fucking absurd reach to accuse someone who enjoys something in fiction of being in favor of it in real life.

I'm tired of pretending like this is a legitimate position to hold-- that they should be afraid of fiction's dire influence on a reader's moral decay or that it's a sign of what the author secretly wants for realsies in real life.

A lot of unfair Marinette criticism I’ve been seeing in this season 6 era is “Marinette did ______” and “Marinette almost did _______” while ignoring that those actions were done before character development.

Like the group that’s angry at her for suggesting that Adrien didn’t need to go to therapy is ignoring the lesson she learned that episode that changed her mind. And this isn’t even the only example.

Were these fans expecting Marinette to be perfect and never learn a lesson? Of course not because they call her a Mary Sue anyway. It’s just bad criticism to judge her character on those things while ignoring the development.

okay so I saw this reel that talked about how they wanted bakudeku to be canon because they want a show where a gay relationship is treated with the same importance as straight couples are usually written and all I would think was MHA is not the place to go. Not only because he intended them as platonic but also because I believe Horikoshi can't write romance because see I genuinely think the reason bakudeku is popular is because Horikoshi is really good at writing friendships(when he focuses on them) but romance wise he cannot do the same.

I am an Izuocha shipper, but even I acknowledge that he didnt develop izuocha enough because he's just not interested in romance and I think the same would have been with any ship with Deku, including bakudeku because it's a pattern. Even with the canon romantic side couples that are their, they were all implied or like one episode bangers and not a proper romance.

So, in my eyes , Bakudeku is only popular and well fleshed out because he intended it to be platonic while if he'd intended it to be romantic it would not be as popular because he's not great at writing romance. I'd kind of say that bakudeku fans are lucky he didnt write bakudeku because I do believe he wouldnt have done them justice if he went in with that.

I do think representation is good because for instance lumity in the owlhouse is extremely well written but thats the thing you need the right writers for something like this, MHA did not have that, not in the sense that would satisfy people maybe looking for a good romance.

In conclusion, Bakudeku only seems to be popular because it was supposed to be seen as platonic and is platonic in his eyes but has great depth which he could not have achieved in a romance but then again because of how small representation is people would be happy regardless but again I may be wrong.

I hate that the season 6 finale has not come out. I'm starved for content. I need to see what happens 😭😭. Why is there no news after they delayed it like BROOOO. I want to see them so badly. I miss writing ml thoughts because like I need episodes for that 😭.

Do you think Adrien was a bad boyfriend in s6? I don't think so, but I can see others say that he was doing a bare minimum, and sometimes not even that specially in the two recent episodes. I wonder what the standard for a good boyfriend could possibly be.

I don't think so. And lie aside, I don't think Marinette was a bad partner either. They are both imperfect and recognize that the other is imperfect and has trauma, and when one of them is struggling, they do their best to be supportive and figure out a solution together. Truthfully, their relationship is very healthy in a lot of ways even back in s5. They recognized early that they needed to take things at their pace and be patient. Marinette has taken strides with her jealousy. They communicate about issues and how they're feeling and come up with ways to work through things together.

I think this is just a transitional season for Adrien, and he is trying to figure himself out. But at no point do I think he has been a bad partner to Marinette. They are both young and figuring out how to be in a committed relationship while also trying to figure themselves out. Healthy relationships don't lack problems. What makes them healthy is how the couple come together to work through problems and support each other. They have had plenty of screentime doing just that. Just because Adrien may not have played a central role in more recent episodes doesn't erase all of the other episodes that showed them working through things together. He can take a back seat sometimes and still be a good boyfriend.
