Journey through Time and Relative Dimensions in Space: Reuniting with a PCE I wasn't aware was there

I wish more pagans would stop acting like deities are fossils who have remained completely unchanged by time since the day they were first worshiped. If we can acknowledge how much societies and values changed from ancient times up to the present, then we should also acknowledge that the gods can and have changed too. Hell, the gods even changed along with their cultures back in antiquity! Whenever someone talks about an offering, practice or interpretation being "too modern" I just get so annoyed because it's operating on the mindset that the gods can never change, should never change and have never changed, which just isn't true.
reminder than simply being outside, drinking water, opening the windows, sun bathing and moon glancing, etc. are all real devotional acts to our earth â no matter how small !!!
being low on time, effort, and energy does NOT make you a bad witch or pagan. it makes you human.

protection work 101-ish
1. the basics
to start with, lets look at some common terms. iâd define them as follows:
wards = long-term protection on spaces (altar, room, etc) - theyâre generally seen as permanent despite needing energetic top ups.
shields = temporary personal protection (veiling, amulets, visualization) - you can also shield someone else, either directly or remotely.
cleansing = an act that resets energy to neutral - can be a space, yourself, or an object.
banishing = essentially telling energy or an entity to fuck off (in varying degrees of hostility). i tend to be more nice than mean, especially if that entity is important or likes to hold a grudge.
these concepts get blurred sometimes, and that's fine. most people use them in overlapping ways - itâs just useful for this post (and this blog) to have a list of definitions.
2. why protection work was hard for me at first, and what i do now
i've always found protection work difficult to keep up long-term. i really struggle with doing big rituals consistently (probably the ADHD). i don't have the energy for it. for ages, my protection either just... didn't exist, or it happened in the moment - shielding when something felt off, visualising energy forming around me, stuff like that. the idea of putting wards up every full moon or doing protective cleansings every sunday made me feel exhausted just thinking about it. the energy it took, the way it felt like a chore didnât feel right, and had me really questioning if witchcraft was for me. i believe that the more energy you give something, the more energy it has - but the more i complicate things, the harder it gets for me, and the less my magick feels like an extension of myself
"i asked chatgpt" well i asked father zeus and he told me to have hope for the future
I didn't realize this needed to be said, but uhh
If you are a Nazi, you have no place in paganism.
(Or anywhere, actually đ)
And to clarify (since ya'll need that, apparently), that includes people who are transphobic, homophobic, pro-eugenics (i.e. social darwinism anti-vaxxer people), anti-immigrant, racist, etc.
Ya'll don't belong here, paganism is not a safe place for you, and I don't want you interacting with my blog.
No TERFS, no conservatives, none of it. Freedom and equality for all.
Aphrodite loves sex workers and victims of sexual assault and intersex people and people who are insecure about their body/self harm and nonwhite people and queer people and fat people btw. pass it on
"The gods, too, are fond of a joke."
â Plato, Cratylus
âMy candle flickered while talking to (god) what does it mean??â That your fire is fire
âThe fire was really big when I lit itâ probably because you didnât trim the wicks from the last use
âThe fire has been moving a lot recentlyâ you moved your shrine next to a ventđ
While pyromancy is real, itâs extremely difficult to get accurate results and shouldnât be done by beginners
As someone who is big into pyromancy I canât stress this enough!
If youâre ever having a breakdown, just remember the wise words of the lord himself
Relationships with the deities.
Following up on my previous post, I want to clarify that not all relationships between devotees and deities are the same.
Once again, there's too much pressure.
Yes, you can have a strong relationship, and yes, you can have none at all.
Yes, you can tell your gods everything, but no, you can choose not to tell them everything.
Yes, you can make offerings to them every week, but no, you can choose not to make offerings every week.
Yes, some people can feel their god almost constantly with them, and yes, other people hardly ever feel them.
Yes, some people see their god, and yes, other people don't.
Yes, some people feel their god, and yes, other people don't. Just as some people hear, and others don't.
Yes, you can be very, very close to a deity, and yes, you can be very, very far from a deity.
Yes, you can have very present deities, and yes, you can have very discreet deities.
Yes, you can receive signs, and yes, you can receive none.
Yes, you can receive guidance and lessons, and yes, you can receive none.
Yes, you can receive almost constant answers and help, and yes, you can receive none.
Yes, two people who practice with the same deity will not have the same connection, but yes, you can still have a similar connection.
Yes, it's possible that my words resonate with you and reassure you about your practice, and yes, it's possible that they're the opposite of your beliefs and practices, and that's perfectly normal.
I'm not going to go on like this for another 150 years; you get the idea. But yes, many things are possible, and the opposite is just as true. What matters, as I said in my previous post, is to be respectful towards the deities. To be careful not to be fooled by spirits who claim to be gods. And very importantly, to do things as honestly as possible. We all make mistakes, and you will too, I'm sorry to tell you that, but at the same time, I'm very happy to help you understand this essential thing. Be natural, honest, careful, and respectful, and you won't have any problems. Every reality exists, and just because you have one relationship doesn't mean it's any less good than another. You are loved, and you are safe.
before you ask "are the gods mad at me?" THINK:
have you...
1. killed or maimed someone
2. killed or maimed an animal for purposes other than consuming/processing it
3. knowingly and purposefully hurled vile obscenities or insults at any god or gods
4. made it a life goal to be a terrible person
5. been a terf
IF YOU SAID NO TO ALL OF THESE QUESTIONS then girl you're fine go have a dr. pepper
Poseidon Hippios (of the horses)
It's such a fucking shame that everyone hates Zeus because they took the myths too literally because a God King of hospitality, foreigners and the protector of immigrants would be SUCH a good guy to be calling on right now. I literally cannot think of a better god to call on for current political issues but suuure enjoy sitting on your mythic literalism high horse guys
