(This is my first time ever sending an ask to a creator so sorry if it’s long or stupidly worded) I was looking through the one world building post explaining the Emerald Soldiers vs Nexus thing, and I had a thought. Since the ES have been converted to mostly deal with “problems” created by mutants it would make sense if that whole group is all humans, but also the government doesn’t outright want to say “hey we hate mutants”, they want to make it seem like the mutants are the problem. But this whole thing gave me a realization: is Scar a diversity hire? He’s not a mutant, he doesn’t have any powers and therefore isn’t “dangerous”, he’s still considered human, but he does have mutant ancestry which shows in his pointy ears. This way when people accuse the government of discriminating against mutants they can point to Hotguy and go “see, one of our top soldiers has mutant blood!” as a defense. Not sure what I was trying to ask, just thoughts. Love the whole comic by the way, the new chapter is amazing! One of the highlights of my month.

wait so how do pearl and grian know each other??? bc pearl and gem talk about her visiting him in the hospital and u said only close friends and family are allowed to visit (was it mentioned and i just missed it?)

They are friends from college! (there's an extra comic posted in the weekly arts when you can see pearl and grian hanging out during their college days)

Does Grian usually go to drink and draw night and can’t because he’s in the hospital? Or has Grian never gone?

No he doesn't The drink and draw is an activity that scar, bdubs and cleo do weekly/ a couple of times each month, but because of the incident with motherspore, cleo and bdubs invited more of the teachers to have a calm experience after this traumatic event (since grian is in the hospital and mumbo is making him company, they weren't able to go, but if they were able to go they would have been invited to the hang out)
