It's a new year, and I think that with this new year, it's about time that Plumeria gets a fresh fit! New beginnings, and all that, y'know? I wanna spread out more, and with the mess that online spaces are becoming, it's more important than ever to tread to spaces that at least recognize artist autonomy, and that means remembering this site exists (my bad). Here's to a year that hopefully leads to real change!

friendly reminder that characters don't need to be saints to be entertaining. and telling a story does not mean endorsement. art does not need to be all about morally good people.

IDK if this was meant as hyperbole but it's literally true:

Adult literacy is low.

Child literacy is low.

Information literacy has shifted dramatically in the last decade, but reputable information sources like research journals and factual news reporting have been unable to keep pace.

We are genuinely in a crisis of media literacy, with ever fewer genuinely factual resources available in the style and language used by contemporary audiences.

It may sound condescending, but we genuinely need to remind people, or worse, explain to them for the first time that art is not evidence of real world behaviour.

So, thank you, for this reminder. Genuinely.

You're correct:

Art does not need to feature exclusively morally pure characters. Art is not proof of the creator's secret, violent desires.

IT IS ONCE AGAIN THE BEST BIRTHDAY OF THE YEAR My Wine Aunt™ Wife, Manuela Casagranda Happy Birthday, Manuela Fire Emblem (can I just say how I personally feel that I *ROCKED* this piece? I've been watching so many art streams & absorbing so much) Y'know, looking back now, I think I've finally realized something; you know how people are always saying that to improve on art, you gotta find that ONE character and just draw them over and over? I think I've only now realized that Manuela is THAT character for me. Like, she's the litmus test for what I understand when I make art. Huh.

Man, I completely forgot to share this here yesterday, on the day of. I did it on Bird App like usual; I gotta remember that I'm back on here now... a commission I did, back around when the Jenny Miku YouTooz figure was announced. I even typed up an anniversary message, too!

Time to teach these fools the power of ROCK! Rolling out with some No Straight Roads art! Since the first trailer, I was sold on the game's direction; characters, art, music, gameplay, all of it! I had to express the hype I have for this title in the best way possible, and thus this was born! I'm so relieved to have gotten this to a point where I was happy with it; after all the time I spent working on and getting critiqued, I wanted this to be the best it could be ;-; If you haven't already, I absolutely URGE you to check out @nostraightroads , it's looking to be one heck of a jam session!
