I’m sorry, but the logic that a rapist “won’t stop” because you’ve warned other people about their behavior so it’s meaningless to warn other people is so stupid. so many people genuinely underestimate just how much men are taught to hate women expressing any agency at all and how much they will go out of their way to discredit women even at their own detriment…for example that video feed where a woman got stuck in an elevator with 12 teenage boys and whenever she tried to alert maintenance that the elevator malfunctioned a few of those boys very loudly talked over her and gave conflicting information JUST to get a reaction out of her. there were so many comments basically saying that it wasn’t fair to bunch in every one of those boys with the deliberately harmful few because they didn’t TECHNICALLY do anything to interfere with the situation but the thing is they r all complicit…not once did they think to tell their friend to shut the fuck up or do ANYTHING other than stand with their hands folded and giggle at this woman begging them to be quiet. it really just feels like the same old story where time and time again men prove that they just don’t see women as their equals at all and that when push comes to shove they are just as untrustworthy and unreliable as their peers through their own negligence and pacifism

I think it's pretty funny that the writer for yellowjackets essentially resented the fact that women said if there were little girls stuck on an island TLOTF style they wouldn't divulge senseless group violence, and then proceeded to have to force Shauna into a parody disney villain and then shove a ham-fisted boring ass cult storyline to try and convince me this is what would turn these girls against eachother. Shauna is an interesting character as an adult but then you switch to teenage Shauna and you feel like you're overdosing on cheese. Teenage girls are so much more complex than this.

Some women will never want children in their life in any meaningful capacity. They don't want to give birth. They don't want to adopt. They don't want to be the fun auntie. They don't want to be a godmother. They don't want to work in a field with children. They will never change a child's diaper and don't believe their lack of childcare skills is a problem that needs fixing, because childcare is not a crucial part of the human experience, with billions of people on the planet.
