Thinking about how a single episode of TADC caused it to immediately surpass any queer rep in the helluverse. I enjoy Vivziepop's work, but Jax's story feels so distinctly Queer. If you were to remove it from the plot, sure it would still be coherent, but you would remove such a key thematic element that they would be a completely different character in context. In contrast, if Sallie May was cisgender, or Stolitz/Chaggie was straight, there would be effectively no thematic difference to their original stories.

I'm seeing a lot of you give your takes on Jax that leave out the whole 'she killed herself because she could no longer live with the reality that she caused harm to actual people and she no longer deserved to live' and the 'she was actively punished by narrative for her abusive behaviour, with the tragedy being she had so many opportunities to save herself and not hurt others but she refused to take them' part of the narrative

Like tadc is a tragedy but it does not look kindly upon Jax's actions.

Grabbing people by the scruff of their necks and shaking them. You know Jax being a terrible person was the point right. That she pushed everyone away despite having all the opportunity to be better.

It's meant to be tragic. That even after all that she realized she wanted to change as her last words and thoughts. She didn't want to go.

It's okay I understand this is baby's first nuance.

So, in terrible news, Trump's trying to pull some strings to pass this massive internet censorship bill, featuring all the kinds of internet censorship we're terrified of, including mandatory ID for accessing basically any website, specifically to crush state regulation of AI, because apparently this man will always see the moral bottom of the barrel and start digging.
