The Wallpaper Peels Every Time It Rains - oil and metallic gouache on a mini canvas
I mostly made this not to waste paint on a different WIP but I kinda fell in love with it.

What would you be most interested in me making?
Art resources (Like the Victorian Language of Flowers guide)
Art Tutorials (Basics like shading, light, perspective, etc.)
Videos of the painting/drawing process
Finishing the Tarot Block Printing project that's been in progress for like 2yrs
Ambition - acrylic and metallic gouache on canvas with a few details added back with a micron pen.
I needs to be sealed for the full effect. I got some acrylic and dipped into that medium for the first time fully in like a decade.
I have a couple oil paintings in various stages so ill post those when they’re done.
Im still doing some training/schooling for a real job and doing my best to keep my spirits up buts it’s hard.
Hope everyone is doing ok all things considering.

Oil on canvas
Oil paint takes forever. I’m supposed to stare at this for days and resist the urge to add more paint.

I’m so ready to be done with this deck

I knew oil painting would be mostly watching paint dry but 😭

My fresh ink came in last night
I carved six block this weekend just to discover my ink is dead. I stored it in the bottom shelf of an organizer and I think it got too cold at some point.
The real kicker is none of my local craft stores carry my supplies at all so I have to order it online.
Stay tuned in the next couple weeks.
This is what happens when your ink separates and you try just mixing it back together. 😵💫

Personal Update 11/07/24
I wanted to illuminate more on why I haven't been posting more of the Tarot Blockprints.
I still plan to finish the set, but I just don't have the steam to work on them.
My life got thrown into chaos through a series of misfortunes starting in August. This includes long term injury that is still healing, loss of my means of transportation for over a month, and a major change to my support network.
These are times that change us and I can feel the change.
I, also, work a real job that pays my bills. That job has a busy season and it's NOW. I have not had more than 1 day off at a time for a couple weeks now. That job has also had a lot of shake ups starting in late July. I am now the senior staff and we are training three new people right now. We're a seven man crew.
Needless to say, I'm stretched thin. Usually any work that comes from this is spontaneous. I'll post what I end up making if anything turns out nice.
Lastly, I feel like I've been operating under bad advice for a bit. I kept being pushed into turning this into a business; the demand to sell anything that you make; it really got to me. I don't think it's really where I need to be with this. Commissions would be one thing but getting a tarot deck made with any real quality is expensive and time consuming. Running a business is expensive and time consuming. If this deck is made, I would be better off selling the work off to a publisher of some sort.
My next big move is to get an iPad. I'm pretty broke but I also don't have debts nor do I like to be in debt. This is why I don't have one, but I really really really want to use procreate. Part of my day job is graphic design so I'm pretty familiar with Adobe suite and it's free equivalents at home. From what I've seen, Procreate seems like it would be right in my comfortable wheelhouse. So, the plan is to use some of my extra day job hours for iPad money. I'm just going to get a refurbished one too. I don't think anyone will read this but is the Apple Pencil worth it? It's hard to compare these things anymore.
Anyway, that's where my art stands at this point.
