Someone needs to inform the (rightly) pro-piracy tumblr users that it is no longer 2014 and some of the services they are recommending will turn ur computer in a broken microwave that serves bitcoins to shitheads.
Do NOT EVER use uTorrent. Be VERY CAREFUL on tpb.
someone said utorrent doesnt mine anymore but honestly dont use it anyway given its history, and it being proprietary closed-source adware. theres literally no reason to use utorrent, its only used because its already well known.
in comparison, programs such as qbittorrent and transmission are entirely free and open source and ad free. the great thing about being open source is you yourself (or other people who know more about security) can check the safety of the code, vulnerabilities get patched quickly, and if some bullshit does happen you can always compile it without the bullshit yourself. just make sure youre getting it from official sources, no doubt theres probably 1 or 2 fake sites with modified versions thanks to it being open source
qBittorrent Official Website
A Fast, Easy and Free Bittorrent Client For Mac, Windows and Linux
there is literally 0 reason to use utorrent in 20fucking23, theres better options
i personally recommend qbittorrent especially if youre moving off of utorrent as its ui is explicitly designed to feel familiar to utorrent users. provided transmission as another option if you want something different, theres plenty more free opensource options out there though im sure
every time i see those posts like ‘what food from a show did YOU always wanna try’ i go lol none? but i just remembered im a liar
i always wanted the fucking soup brock made in the pokemon anime
Hello OP, i don’t have anyway to prove this is the same recipe they make in the shows but i make this to calm my inner kid from wanting the fictional soup:
300gr bacon, beef or chicken. A meat of your choice. These go specially well. I prefer chicken tights. Diced
1 medium onion, diced.
Garlic minced (i used 2-4 pieces depending on size)
300gr carrot, cleaned, peeled and diced.
3 sticks of celery, washed and diced.
800gr potato. Washed, peeled diced in quarters.
1 head of broccoli.
8 cups of stock of your preference. I recommend using the bones of the beef or chicken, but veggies stock works too for a vegetarian or vegan version.
3 tablespoons all purpose flour.
1 cup whole milk. (Almond or rice milk work fine for a vegan option)
½ cup heavy cream. (Skip it for a vegan option)
Salt and black pepper to taste.
½ teaspoon paprika, use the spicy one to get the warmth up a notch in winter.
1 tablespoon fresh chopped coriander. Optional.
1 cup diced gouda or manchego cheese. Optional but really ties all together.
Make sure you have all your ingredients ready and at hand for this one to make sure it comes out nice and tasty!!!
In a pot put water and the bones to prepare your stock (chicken, beef, veggie) You can use premade or bouillon cubes, just make sure its 8 cups worth of broth. In a different pot boil the potatoes until soft.
In a big pot put some butter or olive oil to fry the onion, when it turns a little transparent add the garlic, move constantly.
Add the celery and diced carrots, moving constantly.
The carrot will get a little brighter in color, add the diced meat. Salt and pepper to your taste.
Meanwhile, blend the potatoes with enough stock so your blender wont have trouble blending. If you have a food processor, it’ll be easier.
Ad the remaining stock to you big pot with the veggies and meat, add the broccoli chopped in bite size pieces. Add the paprika and taste for salt and pepper. Let over a medium fire for 10 min.
Separate 3 tbsp of the stock to mix with the flour, set aside. This will be a thickening agent.
Pour the potato mix on the big pot, move to integrate and taste for salt and pepper.
Add the milk and heavy cream. Move with a laddle. Have a final taste and let over low fire for 5 min.
Serve hot and decorate with a pinch of coriander and some cubes of cheese.
ENJOY!
Notes:
I personally prefer to use chicken, love how it goes with potatoes and veggies. Also the tight is very tender and flavorful. With beef you have to be careful not to overcook it or it’ll get gummy and hard to bite, so make adjustments.
VEGAN: could also skip the meat, cheese and heavy cream for a vegan option.
I make it for my younger sister and she loves it. Instead of meat i add some diced, toasted nuts when served. Cashew, pecan and pistachios work nicely.
You’ll have to use 5 tbsp of flour to thicken up the broth a tid bit more without the heavy cream but you can still use a vegan milk.
You can totally skip the coriander, but it adds another dept of flavor.
Do try it with the cheese tho, i promise it’s GODLY. Gouda and manchego are my fave, the melt nicely and have a strong after taste, but i guess any cheese that melts could work.
Finally, if you are like me and like spicy food you can add chopped chili. Serrano and arbol chiles are my go to’s, freshly chopped sprinkled just after serving my bowl.
Hope y'all give it a try and if you have any doubts do ask!
Provecho!
this is literally the best addition i’ve ever gotten to any of my posts thank you so much
Hey I tried this recipe out and I can confirm that it tastes heavenly!!
Can confirm this soup is absolutely divine!
Substituted spinach for broccoli because my partner is not a fan of the latter and used chicken and bacon. Gonna try it again with a nice Italian sausage in place of the chicken next time.
Hey runners (and walkers)! Thought this might be helpful :)
Shoelace Voodoo
The heel slipping one is awesome if you have to wear orthotics because it stops them from slipping round inside your shoe
Oh! I’ll have to try this
oh my god. oh, oh my god. the wide forefoot one… oh my god bless you you beautiful hero
Ian’s Shoelace Site – https://www.fieggen.com/shoelace/ – is the page for all these lacing patterns and more.
He’s got specific lacing advice for skates and tall boots and there are decorative patterns and I recently relaced my skate shoes for both a wide forefoot and less friction on the laces so it’s easier to tighten and loosen them but he also has lace-locking patterns so that shoes stay exactly as tight as you laced them the first time and it is just a VERY GOOD website.
Like. I’ve been buying shoes the wrong size because it’s often hard to find wide shoes but the lacing pattern for a wide forefoot means that my big hobbit feet actually fit into the previously too-tight running shoes and sneakers I had.
"He wants to be better, he just doesn't know how to be better" has got to be one of my fave brands of meow meows. Like yes king, have enough self-awareness to know you're a fucked up little creature while also lacking any intelligence on how to even begin making positive changes, perpetually stuck in an endless cycle of self-hatred and longing and only ever digging yourself deeper into the throes of your own suffering and misery because you can never quite figure out how to break free. The inherent tragedy of knowing enough to know that you're wrong and unhappy but not enough to know how to change, where your biggest obstacle to your happiness is yourself. Aaaahhh I want to collect them all like little porcelain trinkets and fill their cracks with gold. I want to throw them against the wall and shatter them more and see if their pieces will ever manage to fit themselves together on their own. I want to look at their jagged edges and admire the beauty in just how rough they are, even if they never manage to smooth their sharp points, even if they only ever degrade further.
>>> I made these during brazilian's Valentine's Day 2022, and I love it so much! "An intelligent and determined lady, to save her father from a debt, decides to work on a manor of a young, World War II vet, recluse and bitter due to the scars in his face caused by the battlefield."
Thinking about "convinced they're a monster, terrified of getting close to people because they don't want to hurt them" x "you're not a monster to me but like I'm also a little into it when you get scary ngl" this sounds really specific but I've had several pairs of blorbos like that
Vulnerability issues x kinky bastard gets me every time. It's about the "I don't want to hurt you" and the "you won't ...........but I mean if you wanted to? 👀"

Girls night 💅✨ + Edward's POV
Beyond the way that Everything Everywhere All At Once made queer & Asian people feel seen through the beautifully complex way it portrayed generational trauma and the struggle to just get your family to understand, there was also the little details that really stood out to me throughout the movie that made me feel so fucking seen as a Chinese diaspora kid. As much as Shang-Chi and Crazy Rich Asians were milestones in Chinese representation in western media, the way that EEAAO does it is just so much deeper than those two films.
God, where do I even begin? It’s in the small the details. It’s the way their rice cooker sings at the start of the movie with the exact same tune my rice cooker sings with once it’s done cooking. It’s the way that Waymond hums Gong Xi Gong Xi (恭喜恭喜) during the CNY party - the exact same song that I was taught in Saturday Chinese school. It’s the way they seamlessly switched between Mandarin to English to Cantonese to Chinglish in a way that’s completely familiar to me because that’s how my household and community spoke. The small details made me feel seen in ways that Shang-Chi and Crazy Rich Asians only touched on briefly.
But there’s also other details, too. Small moments. When Waymond looked longingly at the elderly Chinese couple embracing in the IRS building, that brief embrace reminded me of how I would see the same thing in the local Asian grocery stores in my home community. It reminded me of my grandparents, walking hand in hand here in Canada at the mall. It also reminded me of how you never, ever see sweet moments like that between Chinese elders in Western media, ever.
And on top of that, the way it framed the connection to China/HK hit close to home. In the brief shots of Waymond and Evelyn as young lovers, there’s something about it that’s just perfectly reminiscent of my parents. It’s the narrow-ass balcony, the outfits, the grainy footage, the hairstyles. It looks like something straight out of my parent’s albums. In addition to this, the way the fights were a tribute to Stephen Chow films and the way that the Wong Kar-Wai universe was shot just pulled me directly back to the times that I’d pass by my parents watching those films in the living room.
The thing I appreciate as well is the fact that it doesn’t take the characters back to Asia like many immigrant stories tend to do. Yes, there are parallel universes where the characters never left their homeland, but there’s nothing forcing them to go back like in Shang-Chi or Crazy Rich Asians. By keeping the film set in America, EEAAO tells us: here is home. You’re still connected to your ancestral roots through family ties and cultural practices, but you’ve found a new home despite the difficulties living here. Your identity as someone stuck in-between as an immigrant family is valid and your story matters. It’s worth telling. You matter.
"Go ahead, choose your Howl."
I just found out that I never posted them here, but my Instagram account was disabled, so why not? Hope you guys like it!
honestly it’s actually the small, mundane, boring things that someone does for you out of love which mean so much rather than grand gestures and proclamations
