feyjaeyong:
✂ ── SUCKER PUNCH
he left huangjun by seoyun’s bedside, no i love you, simply a hand on the shoulder that jaeyong couldn’t resist, because he needs room to breathe. he needs to punch something, because he is angry. irrationally angry at seoyun, angry at the wolf that nearly killed him, angry at himself for letting hunting fall to the wayside when there are so many more seoyuns out there that don’t survive their own attacks. he’s angry at the universe for kicking he and huangjun down every time they try to pick each other up at the floor.
he pushes the door to his favorite hunter gym open too harshly, then storms through the entryway, making a b-line for the closest punching bag. he puts gloves on in a hurry, struggling more than he should thanks to his impatience, and he looks up briefly to find that he isn’t alone.
xuilan. better her than most.
he and xuilan are friends, made acquaintances through the band scene and closer when he discovered her hobby of training with hunters. they spar sometimes, jaeyong claiming it’s because she needs to improve, but it’s fun for him too.
he doesn’t think he would be a very fun sparring partner right now, unless xuilan is fond of rage. soon, once he filters it out. he flashes what should be a usual crooked smile, but he knows the exhaustion is evident in it. he refuses to admit to his sadness, however, and simply greets her with a “xuilan!” forced chipper, because that is simply what jaeyong does. xuilan has a way of seeing through people though, he’s noticed, and he suspects it will be no different today. maybe he tries to hide it for his own sake, like if he grits his teeth and pushes through eventually it’ll all give way to something peaceful.
(because he knows if he surrenders to it, he’ll break down entirely.)
┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈ @feyxuilan ┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈
mostly, xuilan trains at the hunter gyms for convenience and luxury. they’re nicer, state of the art equipment compared to more ‘open to the public’ type gyms that she’s looked into. and, equipment more appealing. of course it helps that the air in these gyms is charged with a much more different energy too- one that’s as enticing as it is almost intimidating. but here, there’s an unspoken rule of focus, and a mutual respect for one another that in itself is as much of a motivator as her own mind.
intuition tells her something is off as soon as she hears the entrance doors open, and a wall of rage and sadness catches her off guard, her resistance band snapping up to smack her before she realizes what’s happening. her own guard had been let down, relaxed just a little too much in her environment, and jaeyong’s depth and intensity feel nearly her own as he storms to the punching bags.
it’s enough to make her pause, mentally recalibrating and and grounding herself in spite of the emotional storm raging just steps from her, and she’s calm enough to study the source of it all. he glances up at her and she wonders if briefly, somehow she’s slipped just enough that he’s noticed she’s not quite like him, but the worry passes as xuilan notes the exhaustion evident in his features, as if she doesn’t already feel the weight of his unspoken worries.
his smile is fake, obviously so, and for a moment she feels sympathy, the urge to still the turmoil that flows within jaeyong, and has to remind herself of the dangerous game she’s been playing, and the stakes of it. her head tilts, contemplative of a response as he stands there, and she can only offer a half smile, closing the distance in unspoken offer to hold his bag still.
“feels like you might need to knock more around than these bags, jae.” she quips, without any of her additional snarky banter. “but i’d wrap your hands and glove before that.”
feyminho:
supernatural disco.
@feyxuilan
Somewhere, in a Gangnam penthouse, psychedelic colors swam against a deceptively human crowd.
The people here spun in circles to disco and traded smiles with the clinking of champagne glasses. The woman of this house commanded immortal wealth. She’s a vampire but lived like she was due to die tomorrow. Supernatural parties were one of her favorite pastimes, and why he was stuck on a couch between a werewolf couple, acting as a mediator to drunken drama.
“You were gone on the full moon again!”
“You’re my wife - not my watcher!”
Minho sipped his beer as they bickered. Their knees pressed into his sides, dog-like breath hot on his face. People danced around them, laughing and kissing and, sometimes, disappearing. He sunk lower into the plush black velvet and wondered how to join the happy people. Everyone dressed in retro styles, the mismatch of 70s, 80s, and 90s made a sea of polka dots and bright, aggressive color. His acid wash jean jacket scratched his sensitive skin. Then, he saw her.
He squinted before he jumped up, pushed himself away from the couple, and called a name across the dance floor. “Xuilannie!” Minho shimmied past the dancers and made it to the other side disheveled, barely able to keep his beer from spilling. “Hey, it’s good to see you again!” He started, and realized, in a beat of stunned silence, the implication of her being here. Xuilan is human, right? Maybe not.
Minho smiled. pushing away assumptions. Sure, she might have been paid to show up as a human juice box, but what did that matter? Still, he couldn’t stop himself from asking. “What are you doing here? Do you know the madam?” Minho asked, referring to their bloodthirsty host.
if there’s any way easier to incorporate oneself into a new environment, it’s by the social scene. universally, it seemed all supernaturally hosted parties were the same, and how better to ease in comfortably then one of the places xuilan felt most comfortable? right in the middle of chaos.
there’s plenty of faces in attendance that she doesn’t know, and only a few she’s met less than a handful of times since relocating to the country, the near-overbearing neons and patterns only making it harder to pick out the acquaintances she had. without much effort, xuilan’s own daily attire fit the party’s theme rather well, even if it was a somewhat understated tribute to the 90s grunge era of fashion. and at parties, she’s very social, albeit with a drink in hand more than most of the time. helps dull the feelings, she says, though it’s more a personal habit of her own avoidance than any reason she tries to convince herself of otherwise, more old habits die hard than actual want of alcoholic company.
just as she manages to make her way into the heart of the party, the dance floor, she hears her name called, already whirling around to meet the voice, her brows raised in surprise at the sight of a disheveled minho in front of her, looking every bit comfortable and yet out of place at the same time. momentarily taken by surprise, she recovers, plastering a grin on quickly.
“minho!” xuilan half laughs, “it’s good to see you too! you look..” she pauses ever so slightly, taking in his state “great, actually.” as much as she tries to ignore it, she picks up on the moment of doubt, though minho’s really only mirrors her own. he wasn’t the type to just hang around parties like this if he were human, not that xuilan had thought, at least.
do you know the madam? rings in her head, and she shrugs, “well, i don’t know her specifically but i do know of her.” she responds, glancing in what she assumes is the hostess’s direction. “how about you though, huh? i never pegged you for a party-goer.” she teases.

best sparring fiends | closed w/ @feyxuilan
He was heavily breathing over the body of a Xuilan. He was just standing there staring directly into her eyes. He was hot and sweaty. His white tee was sweaty and had splotches all over it. In his right hand he had a bamboo sword that was previously moving tearing through the air. It had made many a thwacking sound through out their fight or their fights. Sparring with Xuilan was quite and endeavor for him. It was difficult tracing her movements and seeing where her sword or sometimes hand would land next. She was very good at it though.
“How many was that now?”
His shallow breathing betrayed his statement but he didn’t mind. He reached out a hand to help her up. He honestly wasn’t sure if she’d take it. Her eyes seemed defiant to her, already. They had about thirty sparring rounds so far. It was pretty tiring. Some of them went on for a while. He was always surprised by Xuilan’s stamina. Some people just really surprised Yejun.
“You’re doing really well today, Xuilan.”
She really was. He always watched her movements closely but she seemed to be on the top of her game today. He knew the feeling. Some days you were just in the zone and nothing and no one can stop you.
His eyes were still directly on hers. Yejun never had any issue dealing with people. He never had any issue looking people in their eyes the way some people did. He wondered if Xuilan did. He couldn’t understand how anyone could. Maybe Yejun was just small minded but he wondered what went on in their heads. He could never really be afraid of someone. He heard that shy peoples anxiety and heart rate went up when they dealt with a situation. He always wondered what he would do with all that adrenaline.
“oh, was i supposed to be keeping count?” xuilan replies cheekily, staring up at yejun from her seat on the ground. begrudglingly, she accepts the hand outstretched and offered to her, pulling herself up with ease. “i thought you wouldn’t want to know how many times i’ve kicked your ass, so i stopped.” she teases.
yejun was a favorite sparring partner of hers, unafraid of rough technique and seemingly always a willing party. iron sharpens iron, and when it came to such practice, it was even better to spar with a fellow witch. as much as she tried not brag, xuilan couldn’t help but swell with pride at the compliment. (at least it was better than the ‘peacocking’ her mother says she does, always calling her a show off.)
yejun’s gaze captures hers and her brows raise. “what, practicing mind reading now?” though the tone of her voice is light, she’s definitely not going to be the first to break eye contact- she’s much too stubborn for that. “or are you trying to go for round thirty-one?”

“It is so much safer not to feel, not to let the world touch me.”
