I'm ForteGigas.Gospel, I'm a DM and player and this is a blog for sharing homebrew things I've put together or collected. Feedback is welcome as I use Google.Docs and can update them if needed. My posts have 2 links each as one isn't compatible with mobile devices which is part of the reason I use docs, as it is nice to have access to all the info right from your phone.

Chrono Cross Elements of the Draconians

Elements from Chrono Cross, and well, which ones did I pick? I think it would be better to list which ones I DIDN'T do!

13 spells for each element! The buff and debuff spells were mixed into combined spells similar to Blindness/Deafness.

There is too many to really go into here in this post so feel free to look through them and see what I went with for them. Also I updated Spell Morpher to include these spells.

Realized I didn't do a subclass for Artificer for my set of 1 for each class, so I'm gonna try to make one up this month. I'm 1/3 of the way through the current project.

Further update: Well Psion has entered it's second playtest version for 2024, and while I'm trying to not make content for playtest material anymore I feel like this one I should, only because my subclass for Warlock, the Guardian, would make more sense for Psion.

So Guardian is going to be reworked eventually into "Possessor" for Psion and a new subclass is going to be made for Warlock, Magister Patron

Tales of Series Artes

A selection of Artes from the Tales of Series, usable with spell slots for your Paladins, Rangers, and Eldritch Knights to use their weapons.

Demon Fang, Sonic Thrust, Tiger Blade, Sword Rain, and Whirling Blade. All 5 can be used in place of an attack in your attack action, and they have advanced versions. By using them after someone else casts specific damage type spells the Arte will instead use a more powerful Compound Arte that deals more damage of that spell. Also by using these Artes enough times and having a high enough Int you will automatically learn an advanced Arte version, which will alter the attack in some way!

Also check out the Misc spells list Drive - Mobile for "Fling" an alternative version of Catapult that throws multiple smaller objects.

Something a little bit different, mood music

Yes Battle Chips and Battle Cards from the Mega Man Battle Network and Star Force series. You might have noticed I changed the "cantrip" document into a "Misc Spells" list and these are the first additions. A few selection options I picked from the 2 series.

Ambush Zone lets you per-prepare attacks that will trigger when enemies get close enough to the location. Attack Zone gives all creatures within it a bonus to their attack rolls and damage, be warned this bonus doesn't discriminate between allies and foes.

Double Cross, Anti Recover, and Spirit Fury are various counters to Summons, Healing, and Elemental Attack respectively.

Conjuration Recovery lets you revive a summon as long as you are still concentrating on the spell, a powerful tool to get your summons back into the fray.

And lastly Black Barrier is a powerful shield with 50 hit points that will take all damage in your place, if the shield is down during it's 8 hour duration you can instantly bring it back to it's full power.

Subclasses for the last 6 classes

I know I said the prior group was the last, but then ideas came to round out the other 6 classes. All 12 subclasses are bundled into 1 file.

The White Monk is the Monk's subclass Way of the White First/Warrior of the Divine, a more divine themed subclass.

Geomancer is a Ranger archetype that focuses on spell casting based on their various favored terrains, and gain other bonuses based on these choices.

The Mime is the Bard's College of Mimicry (represented by the Morpher), copying the actions of others.

Warlock's have Bravely Second's Guardian (represented by the Defender), able to link it's soul to others.

Phantom Sorcery, themed off of Espers, is a subclass focusing on the use of Metamagic, and has the option to choose any spells for it's spell list.

Mirage Domain for Clerics is themed after Yuna and using Rydia for some more inspiration, focuses on summoning spells.

2 MORE Subclasses: Sniper and Arithmeticks Arcane Tradition

Should be the last 2, Sniper for Rogues and Arithmetician for Wizards, yes I know Ezel isn't an Arithmetician but I wanted to keep the art style going.

Snipers give Rogues a ranged combat option, while Arithmetician makes use of the horrors of math to cast spells en mass or without expending spell slots.

2 More Subclasses: Oath of the Templar and Onion Knight

2 more subclasses, this time the Templar and the Onion Knight for Paladin and Fighter respectively.

Templars are designed around countering mages and shutting down magic. Onion Knights much to their inspiration start off with very little, but grow exponentially for their last levels.

New Subclasses: Class Replacements

I'm phasing Elementalist and Ravager classes out and have worked on them as subclasses for Druid and Barbarian respectively as Circle of Elements and Path of the Ravager. All subclasses will be on the same document.

These classes were old and originally made as one off classes I made ages ago, I've been iffy on them for a while now so I decided to make this change.

Circle of Elements gets to choose an element that they will get benefits from, they also can choose to wild shape into elemental creatures or gain more spells they can cast using their wild shape uses.

Path of the Ravager gains access to heavy armor and damage dice in place of it's extra rage damage, while bringing in it's defensive abilities.

Spell Source List

Project I've been doing, I'll let the first lines I put in the document speak for it and just put the links (Drive and Mobile Friendly, I highly recommend using Drive as this document uses multiple tabs, and is easier to navigate). Its not complete and currently only Cantrips and the homebrew spells are done which will let you know all the classes to use spells with as the individual lists aren't cross class. Also the list is designed to act as a guideline to other settings, such as Legend of Zelda, Final Fantasy, or Golden Sun. I have it set for comments if folks want to make recommendations.

This list is based on the playtest material from OneDnD that categorized all spells into 1 of 3 different sources that the classes used instead of their own dedicated lists; Divine for Clerics and Paladins, Primal for Druids and Rangers, and Arcane for Wizards, Sorcerers, Warlocks, Eldritch Knights, and Arcane Tricksters. This document will add a bit of extra layers to this and include “categories” as well as the “sources” and  is designed to act as flavor in a campaign and not an end all category, and will include other sources, such as White and Black Magic from Final Fantasy. Examples of using these might be that an NPC refers to the spell Hellish Rebuke as an “Infernal” spell if they see it casted. These lists will also include spells that are homebrew, sources will be included at the bottom of the document.

Hero class for 5e 2024

Pick your mood music

The Hero, using powers you've never seen before, transforming into powerful armor to fight for those who can't defend themselves. Use your inspiring presence to bolster others and strike fear into foes.

Your special force determines your subclass: Troopers use weapons and get support of a robot companion they can summon to the field, it gets upgrades as you level. Magical Heroes get familiars and signature spells they can use to punish evil. And Renegades make use of special attacks and anything they can get their hands on to vanquish their enemies.

This class is designed for the 2024 edition, but you can remove the Weapon Mastery from Troopers to make it compatible with the 2014 edition.

Feats for 5e

Custom made Feats. Currently 2:

Monkey Grip: With this feat you have advantage to prevent yourself from dropping anything you are holding, can use the Versatile feature of weapons with 1 hand, ignore the disadvantage for using heavy weapons, and if you are strong enough even wield two-handed weapons in 1 hand, with a penalty.

Spell Morpher: With this feat you can cast specific spells if you know certain lower level spells, these spells won't count against your prepared or known spells either, so long as you have the lower leveled spell able to be casted you gain the higher level ones if you have spell slots to cast them.

Djinn, Mana Spirits, and Mags systems for 5e

Systems to use Djinn from Golden Sun, Mana Spirits from the Mana series, and Mags from Phantasy Star Online

Each of the systems is not yet finished, and in the case of Mags not started, but Djinn and Mana Spirits are in a playable state.

Djinn are attuned and grant bonuses based on how many of a type you have, acting as a set bonus, or you can attune to different ones and get the different bonuses.

Mana Spirits are attuned to grant bonuses based on your class, with each class gaining a unique bonus, then gaining more as they level based on groupings. Though there are a couple of ways to implement them based on how strong the DM wishes the system to be.

Mags are to be determined currently, and I will post an update and edit this post if/when they finally get work.

Golden Sun Psynergy for 5e

A selection of spells from Golden Sun, I picked 5 for each of the 4 elements, designed as tiered spells. Traditional spells for 1st, 3rd, and 5th are tiered and spells designed to work similar to Smites (you will notice Paladin gets them all) are on 2nd and 4th levels, and are also tiered to each other. And the iconic spell Move is also present.

For Venus Adepts we have Demon Night, Thorny Grave, and Toxic Grit, with Ragnarok and Odyssey for melee.

Mars Adepts can see the spells Fume, Serpent Fume, and Dragon Fume, with Heatwave and Liquefier for melee.

Jupiter Adepts bring Plasma, Spark Plasma, and Shine Plasma, along with Death Plunge and Death Leap (this one is modeled after FF's Jump)

And Mercury Adepts are rocking the Froth, Froth Sphere, and Froth Spiral spells, with Diamond Dust and Diamond Burg for melee use.

Zelda Spells for 5e

Many of the various spells from the Legend of Zelda. They are all 5th level.

Revali's Gale sends you and potentially others into the air. Daruk's Protection blocks 3 hits automatically. Urbosa's Fury will deal damage all around and stun. Mipha's Grace will protect you from death for a moment.

Bombos, Ether, and Quake hit everything around you and inflict secondary effects.

Din's Fire, Nayru's Love, and Farore's Wind are based on the versions of them used by Zelda in the Smash Bros. games.

PSO Techniques for 5e

Most every spell from PSO and PSO2, inlcuding all 6 spell levels for each of the 6 elements: Foie, Barta, Zonde, Zan, Grants, and Megid, and their support versions. There is a unique Sagrants as there wasn't one. Also the Techter's Photonic Fury is included, and the 2 types of Compound Techniques.

Each spell has an extra effect if you use a bonus action when you cast them, often increasing the range, or damage, to imitate the ability to charge the spells in PSO2.
