omg you people can do anything
Being gluten free really sucks sometimes. And I'm not even celiac where I have to worry about cross contamination. Honestly especially since they came out with gluten free cheezits a couple months ago, I'm pretty happy with my diet and what I am able to eat at home. It's also easy enough to eat out, since I don't have to worry about cross-contamination. But jesus christ eating at other people's houses is hard. I forget how fucking gluten based most diets are because at home I'm just used to mostly cooking rice and potato based meals. Many many instances of only being able to eat the protein (bunless burger/hot dog, random piece of meat that was supposed to be served with/on pasta or bread, etc) and if I'm lucky theres also chips or salad. I live in the south and chicken spaghetti has fucked me over multiple times. Cool great the meal is all in one pan full of stuff I can't eat. Should I be a weirdo and bring my own tupperware of food to the party? I've even ended up bringing my own uncooked noodles when someone remembers last minute and texts me panicking. And god forbid I go in without a plan, a couple weeks ago my best friend forgot to plan for me at a party (it's okay, I forgot about his legume allergy and accidentally made chili with beans a while back) and I ended up eating a burger patty and rice with pasta sauce on it. Spent the night, and the next morning everyone else had cinnamon rolls while I ate cheerios. Planning to spend the night at a different friend's house tomorrow, and it feels so awkward to be like "hi can I please bring my own pancake mix for breakfast in the morning?" Not to mention the amount of parties I've asked my wife to leave bc I'm hangry due to the issues I mentioned, or even if it wasn't supposed to involve a meal but was supposed to have "refreshments" and I should have known better than to think "refreshments" would be anything more than cookies and maybe sandwiches. And even when I'm being considered, it's so awkward to get called out at a work meeting to be specifically asked if the catering for an upcoming event works for me. Thankfully we recently got another gluten free employee so its not JUST me anymore. I got especially lucky that it's another gf person because we are the only two with dietary needs in our workplace. I'm just so tired of having to put so much effort into it.
new remixes of some of my old prints up while i finish up some delicious in dungeon inspired prints, proxies & playmats
i bet the pain will end if i arrange a perfect enough sentence about it
❎ "my current mental state can cause me to be anxious, irrational, and overly reactive at times"
✅ "some sort of evil shadow self lurks within me that can only be defeated via battle of the mind combat"

i'm such yayybait. i'm such yippee!bait. i love to become ensnared in delight
I told my dad I'd seen people DIYing linocut presses online and I wanted to make one, and while I was looking for the video to show him the example, he was like "we should make something out of this spare car jack I have." And I was like dude thanks but that is like, significantly more leverage than I need and probably would create something that takes more difficult than hand pressing everything.
Sorry, Millennials, but recent paleontologist findings and hyolaryngeal apparatus reconstructions no longer support the hypothesis that "rawr" means "I love you" in dinosaur.
I made you a bibliography but I eated it :(
I don't know, I have a fairy child sleeping on my shoulder.
Are you doing okay? We missed you at the devil's sacrament. He mentioned you by name. Everyone was looking around and cheering until we realized you weren't there. If you need to talk I'm always here. At the aforementioned devil's sacrament.
I have become too tumblr brained. My wife and I have been watching clone wars and in the ep we were watching Darth Maul tells Obi Wan "I've thought about you every day"
I said to my wife "theres gotta be some crazy fanfiction of these guys" and she was like "what, why?" And I was like "he just said he thought of Obi Wan every day. You know, the whole love and hate are closely related thing."
every single word of this sent chills down my spine.
actually to continue from my own tags:
#the game's story is so contingent upon the player character#idk if this is a silly take but i personally feel that the show will feel like it's missing a main character without Tav or the Dark Urge#but no one Tav or Durge would be right in the first place#bc the point of the story was everyone's unique player characters#idk what the point of this is really?#bg3#truly cannot imagine it being good i fear
I really don't understand this working without the player character, because the Tav is pivotal in every companion's arc. The Tav influences every final fate. Whether Shadowheart chooses Shar, whether Gale & Astarion choose ascension, whether Wyll chooses to prioritize himself for once over his father, etc. etc.
And what of the romances and friendships? The characters take on life through their interactions with the player character. Convincing Astarion he just needs a friend. Winning Wyll over to dance. Etc. Etc.
It will feel strange for a viewer to watch the show and not see their Tav. Using a stand in for the player character won't work, because it's not the viewers' characters.
Idk. Maybe I'm being pessimistic but this just feels completely out of touch with what makes the game so replayable and popular.
Directly after BG3 is such a bad idea. It needs to be at least 10-15 years after, so that they can do what the fallout show did with new vegas this season and avoid having a "cannon ending" by making things evolve far enough past the events of the game that a cannon ending doesn't matter. Everyone would be just as horny for aged up versions of the companions that would age. It's even a very fun dynamic to play with as far as mortal vs immortal characters. There could be new characters that serve the function of a player character, and the companions could make vague references to events of the games without ruining it for anyone.
I was doing some self care, reflection, and journaling during the full moon. I was writing about feeling stuck and needing to take action. I decided to pull tarot cards for guidance on how to get unstuck and what action to take. First two cards I pull are The Hanged Man and The Chariot. Basically, "you're stuck and need a perspective change. You should take action." Okay, these fuckers are acting like a first year therapy student who only knows how to paraphrase.
Started with a 3 card spread, card 3 was the 7 of swords, which deals with themes of deception. Cool cool, so I've had it confirmed that I'm asking the right question, but watch out! Deception!
Okay, confusing, pull a card for clarification. 6 of Pentacles. Sharing resources. Pull another card. The Wheel. Life is full of cycles, good times and bad times will come, nothing lasts forever. Crazy pull to get a third major arcana, and it's right on theme with what I started with in my journal entry before coming to my question about being stuck.
This is like the third reading within a couple months, including solo and ones from other people, where my question was "what do I do? How do I do it?" And the answer was "you just have to do it." I think the deception is deceiving myself that things are harder than they actually are. I am involved with local community organizations, I know where I want to direct my resources. If anyone has any input on this reading I'd love to hear it.
This might be way too niche, but if even one person whose life it could save sees it, that'll be worth it. If you are someone who used to live in the north/anywhere it snows a lot, and now you live somewhere in the southern US where the giant snow and ice storm is coming through this weekend it DOES NOT MATTER if you "know how to drive in the snow."
Do. Not. Go. Out.
In most of the south, it is far more cost effective to shut everything down for the small periods of ice and snow that we get rather than to have infrastructure to handle snow. The roads don't get salted. Also, typically we start with freezing rain before snow, so between that and no salt, it is pure ice under the snow. Our snow is also usually wet, not the dry powdery stuff that is relatively easy to drive on.
After living in denver for a couple years and moving back to arkansas, I had a little huberus about being able to drive in snow, but was quickly humbled with by far my scariest driving experience in some freezing rain here in arkansas, way worse than the various heavy snow storms that I had to drive home in when I lived in Denver. Get enough food for a week, have a little bit of stuff prepped for a power outage, and be prepared to stay home.
Southerners are not just crazy people who are overreacting, it is just different here. But I do make fun of the impulse to buy milk, eggs, and bread. Just buy a usual weeks worth of groceries plus maybe a few extra things you can eat during a power outage. Unless you want some cozy snow day french toast. Then you'll need milk, eggs, and bread, but it's probably too late to find any on the shelves.
