Talking about crazy fandom projects...

I fell completely in love with this knitted sweater recently -

(ooh, incidentally, cropped like this it's actually going to be a useful reference picture for me going on, because the pattern is really like, minimal is putting it gently)

This is a Vöråtröja, Vörå sweater. Traditional pattern, there are many more in a similar vein, named after different places in Finland. But the colours and everything about it just - clicked. So away I went and emailed the kind people at the Vörå LYS and after a bit of a discussion, I received a package with yarn & the aforementioned minimalist pattern notes.

Madness? I'm sure. But it's also a keeping the darkness at bay project, so I'm planning to keep going with it.

Finished a scarf today 🧣 🧶

I realized that I’ve gifted 5 scarves now but have never made one for myself. So I decided to try cabling for the first time and make myself a scarf! Cables are actually so much simpler than I realized!

Also it seems I am drawn to this goldenrod color….

Wahooo! Finally finished this. I really love how it turned out. And I hand sewed the lining inside! The pattern is Romanesco Bag by Rantistudio on Ravelry. The spikes are an ingenious combination of double increases then double decreases. I had to start over 4 times at the beginning and minorly crashed out but it was very easy once I figured it out.

This took much longer than usual to knit -- I don't know if I was just spending less time knitting, or if it was the complex intarsia (the waves involved 10+ balls of yarn 😭). I'm really happy with it, it was a lot of fun to knit, and I can't wait to wear it (in a few months time...)

The best method I’ve found so far for jogless stranded colourwork:

👉 If the last stitch of the round is the same colour as the first stitch of the next round, slip it back to left needle and make a reverse yarn over, slip the stitch back to right needle and work next round.

👉 If the last stitch of the round is not the same colour as the first stitch of the next round, slip it back to left needle and make a yarn over with the new colour, slip the stitch back to the right needle and work the next round.

At the end of the round, knit the last stitch together with the yarn over 😉🙌😎

it's been a while but i'm finally back into knitting! i've recently made this Skyrim themed cardigan based on the landscape of Tel Mithryn and its surrounding views. this one was a lot of fun to design and get everything lined up!

knitted on 3.5mm, 4.0mm, and 5.0mm needles with Drops Nepal yarn

I love how exactly these match. I love the stripes. I did not love knitting these. This yarn split like crazy. I used relatively sharp needles so I guess that could have contributed.... But also it could have been the yarn.

I dont want to think about how long it might have been since i started them. but theyre DONE. and now i must find patterns that r shorter length bc theyre way longer than any socks i need in florida lol. but i am vvvveeerryy excited to have my first pair DONE

being an everything crafter is great but also sucks. like i want to get my watercolors out but i need to put away my microcrochet first. i want to do some leatherwork but my oil paints are on the table. i want to whittle but i'm using the bucket i catch wood shavings in to hold my papermaking mush. i want to write my book but my hands are too busy knitting a sweater. i want to code another video game but i'm too busy studying nalebinding. do you see my problem. the problem is that i need more hands
