in a modern world, Pen and Colin 1000000% had partners go 'I don't like how close the two of you are- it's either them or me' and both of them, without hesitation, go 'okay, it's them' to their partners' shocked pikachu faces. like babe you think you can give some head and jump the line in order of favorites and loyalty? Pen and Colin have known each other for like a decade. they were around when they were both primordial ooze in human form and still chose each other. she's braided his hair at sleepovers and picked up when he was crying on the phone. he's driven to ten different stores in one night to find her favorite brand of ice cream and left half his t-shirt collection at her house. she carries snacks for him in her purse for when he gets hangry and he carries flip flops for her even when she says she won't need them and then inevitably curses the invention of heels when they go out to events. they have inside jokes about their inside jokes. they probably invented their own language. they nerd out about Lord of the Rings. they took a morse code class to communicate via blinking at chaotic Bridgerton brunches/dinners/outtings. she's his emergency contact. he built all her furniture with her. they share custody of a single braincell and a plethora of houseplants they give dorky names to, like Jennifern, and their beloved roomba, Suckleberry Finn. ain't no way someone else is getting the fast pass ahead of that.
