Tried to figure out how I've been running these things and I came up with this
SO MUCH THIS. it drives me up a fucking WALL when people call male witches wizards
my take on this
a "grant" is a type of pact offered to warlocks physicists that allows them to cast higher level spells conduct research and experiments
She was evil as fuck but I gotta hand it to Carmilla in the Castlevania anime: she did all that shit in heels
Couple + Sibling/relative third wheel is honestly an S-tier trio dynamic and I wish we saw more of this in media.
"You are my soulmate. We are forged together by battle and tears and love. Also my brother's coming along."
"Yo."
Bonus points if the non-related half of the couple is just as committed to keeping the third wheel around as the related half.
"Isn't it weird that your brother in law is always hanging around?"
"You've got a problem with Andrew?"
What do you think you're trying to understand about your story?
Dimension 20: Neverafter — Episode 9, “Origins”
#the allegory to Black boyhood Lou brought to this character is simply unmatched by any other adaptation of pinocchio. it's That Good.
Wacom recently asked me to talk about why I make queer comics, and given there are multiple bills right now floating around in congress that are effectively "we will kill your livelihood if we get a sniff of queer" I had some pretty strong, simply feelings to relay.
You can read the interview here, you can buy my graphic novel featuring a gay vampire here, and you can call your congressmen about rejecting HR 2616, HR 8705, HR 7661 using 5calls.org (they don't have these specific bills listed as things to call about, but luckily you can talk about whatever you want on the phone)
microdosing hell by being aware and literate
kinda bullshit the English language doesn't have a discrete word for an unlit campfire. you light a campfire, but what is it before you light it? also a campfire, I guess. I need to invent a word that can be intuitively understood as "the arrangement of wood that is intended to become a campfire"
well "an arrangement of wood that is intended to become a campfire" sounds like it's just a bundle of sticks and I think there is a collective word for that maybe
reblog to form a mighty faggot with your mutuals
I also felt this part was hilarious and should be included
id lie right to willy wonkas face. “did you drink fizzy lifting drinks” of course not. And then id hit him
This is why you won't inherit the factory.
i dont want the factory. I want to see fear in his eyes
You know for all my issues with the Amazing Digital Circus finale I do think Jax is the perfect illustration of a specific type of trans woman. Like there's a real contingent of closeted tgirls out there who repress so hard that they've fully convinced themselves that they can never be happy and they refuse to accept the possibility of love or acceptance because that's just "cope". If you were to ask these girls to justify their decisions they'd tell you that repressing is the only reasonable option because they'd never pass and their friends and family would reject them and their whole life would fall apart but the great irony is that repressing that hard kinda does make your life fall apart in and of itself. The repression turns into self-loathing and that turns into resentment and that turns you into a miserable human being who's miserable to be around. You hate yourself and you hate everyone around you and you push away anyone who could have loved you or cared for you and then you die never knowing what it would have felt like to live honestly.
I've seen some people say they were annoyed by how much attention Jax got in the finale because they felt like the show wanted you to feel sympathy for Jax but didn't do enough with her character to make her properly sympathetic. I don't feel sympathy for Jax but I see in Jax a mirror held up to a real life tragedy that plays out over and over again. It plays out in the form of all those women on 4chan's /lgbt/ board who called me ugly and disgusting and told me to kill myself and that no one would ever accept me. I do not feel sympathy for any of them, but I feel sad that they are wasting their lives becoming emotional tarpits because they think that's preferable to being an out trans woman. If nothing else, I hope someone recognizes in Jax just how sad and tragic a way to live that is and decides they don't want to live that way anymore.
This stupid exchange between friends has become a cultural icon.
