How he ever managed to nab a moped was beyond his knowledge. The last thing he could remember was swiping the sleek machine from the corner of a sidewalk, with its owner shouting profanities at him as he sped off at high speed. A pickpocket had swiped his pay for the day, plain and simple. So the only way to fix the problem, Mako figured, was to pursue the petty thief that had run away with his earnings. The only catch was that he had little to no experience with automobiles — even the small ones.
So it was pretty ironic how he found himself in Asami’s position, zooming down the streets without a speed limit to go by, and not knowing where the breaks were on this confounded machine. And, to make fate even more ironic, a oncoming pedestrian had crossed his path. Go figure.
“Hey you!” Mako yelled, his voice muffled against the roar of the moped’s engine. “Get outta of the stree—” But machine and flesh had already come into contact — it was too late.
The moped was in shambles, to say the least. Its rearview mirrors had been chipped off the scooter’s ends, and were strewn across the stoned walkways. As for the victim, well…at least they were still breathing. Mako arose from the rubble and debris of what remained of the expensive vehicle, dusting off the specks of dirt that clung to his scarf and skin.
“Hey,” he called as he slowly rose from the ground. “Are you…alright there?” It was a rather poor question, but what else could he say in such a situation? He had yelled, hadn’t he? And yet, the only thing that was going through the firebender’s mind was how his money had definitely been lost that day.
Today was nothing out of the ordinary, she was somewhat more at ease knowing she had at least one friend here. But still that meant the both of them were trapped rather than just herself and while she enjoyed being in the company of someone she knew she'd prefer her friends not being trapped here too. In any case there was little she could do about it now, however what she could do was be more productive having considered trying to find a job around this place to keep herself occupied. Then in her spare time continue to try and find an escape route, even if the chances of finding one were very slim. Caught up in thoughts that constantly plagued her mind the rumbling engine had felt so far off that she hadn't thought it was hurtling right towards her...until it was too late, so much for those Avatar reflexes.
"Wha-" too late the moped inches away from her only just able to move enough so the vehicle only took her off her feet rather than throwing her several feet away. Luckily she was a tough cookie and had a physique to match, but it still hurt and for that she was pretty annoyed. Rolling onto her back after landing face first, a somewhat muffled moan leaving her as her vision became blurred. Was she all right? Did she look all right? What a dumb thing to...
"Mako?!" At first she hadn't recognised his voice in her bewildered state but as her vision began to clear there was no doubt. She was certain she looked rather ridiculous laying on her back with her mouth wide open, what luck she'd just happened upon another friend, it's like they were falling from the sky now. Quickly she leaped to her feet, stumbling somewhat before grabbing both his shoulders with her hands. "Mako! Mako you're here too? This is great!" Shaking him slightly not particularly bothered by how silly she most likely looked. First Bolin now his brother surely that meant more would show, though her earlier concern still remained. "Well uh not great I mean we're all like prisoners here but still! When did you get here? Man I've been wondering around on my own for ages looking for you guys" she spoke without taking a breath, too excited to reunite with more of her companions.
Ungraceful ♋ Encounter
Well, at least she knew that she stuck out like a sore thumb — or, at least, she knew that her partner did. The animal was the first thing that Connor had caught sight of .. though, originally, he thought it to be some kind of snow-pile. That was primarily because of the fact that it was so snowy in the area, though; and it was also on part of the fact that its fur was about as white as the snow. He would have dismissed it, had the thing not started moving .. and had the wolves not started howling, signaling something’s presence in their immediate area. This girl herself, on the other hand — “Korra”. To the average townsperson’s eye, she probably would have passed off as the member of a tribe — not the kind of tribe that she’d mentioned, but the kind of tribe that Connor knew. They might’ve simply waved her off as a Mohawk, despite the clear difference in attire ..
.. Or, at least, it was clear to him. They probably knew not, and, chances were, they cared not. “There is no such tribe in this area. Of that, I am sure.” The hooded male states, matter-of-factly. She did say that she came from somewhere far away, didn’t she? There were areas that even Connor had not traveled to, due to their being so far away — perhaps she came from somewhere more to the west. He knew these lands well, after all; if there was any group that identified as “Northern Water”, he was certain that he would have come across them at least once. If not that, then he would at least have heard of them. Being that the name was so foreign in itself, he could have easily doubted her, or claimed her to be a liar .. but the clothes that she wore fit the name, if only for the fact that they were a deep shade of blue. And, besides for that, the girl seemed sincere enough about losing her way and winding up on the outskirts of the city. ”.. How far have you walked to get to this point? Do you know?” ”.. I see. Then once we arrive, we will see just how ‘far’ from home you are.” Korra seemed to be both excited by the fact that he’d offered his assistance, and amused by the fact that he wore a hood to cover his features. The latter confused him, quite honestly; those that saw him on the city’s streets were more confused than they were amused. And, more often than not, they would be fearful because of the difference between himself and them; they wouldn’t be amused, nor would they be making jokes about the fact. If that wasn’t a surefire sign that she wasn’t from around here .. “And this ‘home’ you speak of — I assume it is the tribe you mentioned earlier?” Connor asks, though now, it is out of curiosity more than anything. The entirety of the situation became stranger and stranger with each explanation she gave — the sooner he got to the bottom of all this, the better it was.
Almost self-consciously, he pulled the hood over his face only further, and then turned his back to her. “Korra.” He repeats the name, foreign as it feels. “I would sooner have you call me by my name than that; It’s Connor.” There’s a brief pause after that, and then he suddenly starts to walk the snow-covered path; the snow doesn’t seem to hinder him much, as he continues to walk at the same pace as he had been up until now. When the snow was thigh-high, it was difficult to navigate through, sure .. but he’d grown used to it. “Boston is up the path ahead; you would do well not to fall behind.” It was more a word of caution than anything. Eventually, the snow would start to fall harder — and in turn, start to obscure their vision.
It was still strange that he'd not heard of her home, she must have travelled a lot further than she realised...way further. Apart from the people of her tribe there wasn't really anywhere close to the South Pole not where people inhabited any way she suposed it was plausible that he'd not heard of such a place. "Oh well, I mean my home is pretty far south...as south as you can get actually" perhaps that would provide some idea of how far she'd actually come. "Sorry I have no idea after a while I just lost track" she replied with a light shrug of her shoulders, an apologetic look on her features. She really couldn't tell him anything, which she knew would surely frustrate him considering there was little he could do to help her without knowing exactly where she'd come from.
Still amused by how cautious he was, or how he obviously wanted to conceal his face from her and presumably from others too. She had to wonder why, maybe he was on the run or something. A lighthearted chuckle escaped her, well he'd offered to help so that's all she needed to know.
"That's right, a water tribesman thats me, or well tribeswoman and I mean I figure you live around here right? Kinda looks like my home what with all the snow, but with more trees." After all there wasn't really much, if any greenery where she lived, living in a perpetual winter. Head tilting slightly as his sudden movement to leave was a little unexpected, twisting around slightly she whistled at her animal companion. "C'mon Naga time to go!" She motioned with her hand before trekking off after her new acquaintance, snowy beast in tow. While the snow did slow down her movements she too was used to such terrain, though being a smaller build she had to exert more strength to keep up. "Connor huh? Well it's nice to meet you" she nodded, though she took his comment a little more seriously even if her actions may not seem like she did.
"Yes sir!" She saluted but took his warning to heart. "You don't need to worry about me I can take care of myself...I'm just bad at navigating" she admitted as Naga easily strutted through the snow beside her. "So this Boston," the name sounding unfamiliar on her tongue. "Is that where you live? I've never heard of it before" quite excited at the prospect of visiting a new place. Before going to Republic City she hadn't really travelled outside her home, not without supervision so being able to see new places always brought a gleeful look to her features.

“Bolin! Bolin you’re here!”
Oh, he’d know that voice anywhere.
“Korra!” the earthbender exclaimed, his lips growing into an impossibly large smile. “Ohmygosh dude, I can’t explain how happy I am to see—urk!”
Bolin was lifted to the air, the air from his lungs whooshing out as fast as his feet from the ground. Although the hug was painful, he honestly could care less. Korra, one-of-a-kind Avatar, Pro-bending teammate, and coolest gal he could possibly have, was here in this place with him. At least he didn’t have to go through this thing alone.
But she’d be alone if she didn’t put him down soon.
“Okay, okay um, Korra…” he managed to choke out, “You’re really starting to reduce my intake of oxygen. Y’know, the thing I need to live? I really… really need it right now.”
Bolin sucked in a gulp of air, and in one quick breath he answered: “Not long, two seconds, I think, no—and man, I thought I was the only one too!”
Even with the little air he was receiving, Bolin’s smile failed to disappear. His face was beginning to turn blue yes, but even if he was to faint, that stupid smile wouldn’t go away.
Speaking of oxygen: “Air, Korra… I need air…!”
Often did she forget her own strength, what she considered a normal hug usually ended up crushing someone...not literally but close enough. Though one could say she was almost too happy to really hear him properly as strong arms tightened further. "Wait, you only just got here?" Well that was good timing on her part, at least she could let him know what on earth was going on from what little she knew. "Well this is great any way! I mean with both of us here we'll figure a way out!" Her tone rather ecstatic considering the circumstances, the whole trapped in another world, and further entrapped in this city.
Finally hearing his rather choked out plea for air she quickly released her arms, putting him back on his feet, a sheepish grin plastered across her lips.
"Hehe whoops" she apologised, dusting off his shoulders a little forcefully. Though she was somewhat disappointed to hear he hadn't met any of the others, yet it gave her hope that some of them were perhaps here if they both were. "In any case I'm glad you're here at least, it's been pretty lonely without you guys" more than she would let on but those days were passed now. Placing her hands firmly on her hips, leaning forward a little. "So I bet you wanna know what's going on huh?" That was pretty obvious but even though she'd been here over a month she didn't know anymore than when she first got here despite a few details. "Well I have your answers...I think" well...sort of.
“Yes, I’m a new arrival.” She admitted, lips curving into a faint smile in answer to the brunette’s question. “Not..that I’m too happy about it. But what can you do, huh?” Trying to keep up a cheerful appearance, despite the constant nonchalant feeling whilst walking through the near-empty streets during the day. But the person before her seemed to be nice, not often that she bumped into others that exuded that certain kindness; not that it would do any harm to converse and potentially get to know the other residents here. “Oh? You’re new here also? — Well, I guess I could ask what’s the idea behind all of this— It’s a bit confusing to say the least.” Finishing her sentence, with more of an apologetic tone. “My name is Leanne, It’s a pleasure to meet you Korra!”
Oh finally! Someone who was actually new and probably in need of some assistance! It seemed she tended to misjudge and approach those either too proud to admit they were lost or didn't want the help. It was also nice to meet someone with such a cheery disposition, considering the circumstances and she liked to believe she put up a good front despite the rather dreary look of everything. "Well not much from what I know but it's good to be positive" or at least appear so in front of others. She still held out hope that there was a way out, she didn't plan on giving up anytime soon.
"I wouldn't say I was new, been here a couple of weeks gotta be way over a month now since I got here" she replied realising she'd given off that impression. Still, she'd been here a while and was no closer to understanding it all this so called Goddess hadn't even made an appearance. "I wish I could tell you, all I know is that some Goddess lady brings people here" she didn't even know how she did such a thing, then again she was a God after all, something like this was probably easy. "Likewise Leanne, shame we met in such a gloomy place though" gesturing her hands to their surroundings. "I take it you got put here too?" Referring to the city as it was apparent everyone was assigned a place to live.
Awfully many people are following you....
“…wha?”
Zawa Zawa…
Kaiji turned around to face to the sea of unfamiliar faces. Bracing himself he took a breath giving nervous looks. He had no idea what this “following” thing but damn it was creepy.
“W-what do you want?”
"You sound kinda nervous, I'm not gonna bite you," she teased with a nonchalant wave of her hand, unless he intended on harming her in some way or fancied provoking her. Yet so far she'd only crossed paths with rather well mannered people and hadn't had the misfortunate of getting into any scraps yet. "I don't want anything...okay maybe some food would be nice but I was just checking to see if you were...y'know lost or something you seemed a little edgy" she replied, why did everyone presume she wanted something when she approached them? She was only trying to help, though it seemed that tended to backfire more often than not.
Another Day In Pandora
"Hm?" His eyes traveled over her face. "What did you want to say? Why don`t you tell me? I need my partner to be honest with me, and it means you have to tell me if something`s bothering you and----" His words died on his tongue. "Ah." A chuckle escaped his lips, before his expression straightened into one of utmost seriousness. "It isn`t safe, because I heard the guardian of Tenebris would try to take you back to this city. No one has tried, anyway. I`m not familiar with dragons too. Never encounter a real one." He breathed.
"Speaking of which, can you fight? Are you a warrior, or just.. an ordinary woman? Sorry for this question."
The the sudden serious look on his face wasn't exactly comforting, well that shot any plans of trying to escape. No point if that giant beasty would just come after her and while she was strong she wasn't sure how she would fair against a dragon. Though she had been told Firebenders defeated dragons years and years ago and that now, there weren't any left. "Then I guess we really are trapped here, not just in this world but in this city too" surely this place would drive people mad being encased in one city for goodness knows how long.
"Can I fight?" She repeated speaking as if the answer was obvious, not understanding why she would need to if they weren't going to intentionally attract that dragon. "Dunno what you'd call a 'normal' woman but I can handle myself no need to worry, I'm guessing you can?" She asked in return considering he wouldn't have inquired otherwise unless he felt like she needed protection for some reason.
“There’s a tribe in the South Pole…?” It was most definite the two did not come from the same world. “More over, a water tribe? What in the world is that? Is it your job to collect water for resources…?” It seemed logical (to a point). Although Q didn’t understand why Korra was living in the most southern area of the world for something as little as a resource rather than study, it did make sense (even if there was a very small amount of it).
“Earth Kingdom?” the quartermaster echoed, lips quirking downwards in perplexity. “What, is there a Fire Kingdom and Air Kingdom too?” Although it was meant to be sarcasm, Q couldn’t help but feel that really was the case; that wherever Korra came from, their kingdoms / tribal lands were named after Wu Xing. “I agree. Worlds apart from the same. But as mentioned, your appearance was a giveaway.”
It was almost definite they weren't speaking of the same South Pole, the way he spoke he made it sound like it was strange for people to live there. Yeah it was cold but having been born and raised there you sort of got used to it. "Yeah of course there this, we have a sister tribe in the North too" and from what she knew water benders in the swamps but there was little she knew about them. Plus nowadays waterbenders lived in Republic City too and weren't just gathered in the North and South parts of the world. She almost smacked her palm to her forehead at his suggestion...collecting water...really?
"What? No I mean yeah there's water but we're called the Water Tribe because well...a lot of us are Waterbenders at least I figured that's why" she explained knowing he probably had no idea what waterbender even meant. She could easily tell his next words had been meant as sarcasm...but he was right on the money. "Yeah about that..." a somewhat sheepish laugh leaving her lips. "There is, well only the Earth Kingdom is called a Kingdom but you get the gist, they're the four nations."
This girl was rather boisterous. Cute but too loud for Jack’s own liking. He peers down from a nearby roof, studying this Korra with an indifferent expression on his face. Obnoxious attitude aside, something piqued his interest. She kept a smile on her face despite they both were surrounded in darkness.
Hm, A sudden thought made a wicked grin break across his lips. Grabbing his staff Jack took off through the air. Jumping from building to building, thick ice followed the teen till he came up to the girl. He whips around Korra, chuckling.
“Yeah! You can help me! I’m bored and looking for a little fun!” Jack says. “Heads up!”
A snowball hit the back of the girl’s head.
"Huh?" Well that wasn't exactly what she'd had in mind, maybe pointed him in the right direction or informed him of that nice bakery she'd happened upon that one time. "Not exactly what I had in min-" her sentence stopped abruptly as she felt sharp ice drip down her neck, shuddering at the impact. Snow? It wasn't snowing not since she'd been here unless...no there was no way he was a bender and even if he was there was no water in the vicinity to form snow from aside from the fountain. A small huff escape her lips as she shook off the excess snow on her shoulders, well she wasn't just going to walk away now.
"All right have it your way," she shrugged seeing as this was only fun she had no reason to decline, besides she needed to get her own back after that last shot. With circular movements of her hands some water from the fountain rose up, encasing her hands.
Pulling her arm back, before lurching it forward in a fluid motion, it wasn't snow but still made for a good projectile. "Gonna tell me your name? Or am I going to have to win to get it?" She called after releasing the watery bullet.
Apparently I’m really attracted to ginger kids. //COUGHS LOUDLY.

Question for the mun: based on your personality, what kind of bender do you think you'd be? ...or nonbender, if you'd prefer.
// Omg a question for me! :D I think probably...an Earthbender if I was to boil it down to just the one. Each element has it's own characteristics and I think it's easy to find parts of myself in each but I think I'd fit in as an earthy person best~ But like if I was gonna be super realistic perhaps a non-bender? The person who doesn't have any sort of outstanding abilities but brings something else to the group or community as it were kinda like Sokka I suppose. C: Thank you for the question! //

"Don't think I've seen you around before, I guess Tenebris is bigger than I thought" she spoke towards the stranger she'd crossed paths with. Instead of idly wandering the streets she thought, being the Avatar and all she'd put herself to use. Though this world had no need of her as much as her own world did she still felt like she had a responsibility somehow. Otherwise what was the point of even calling herself the Avatar if she didn't use her 'abilities' for others? Plus she had to start somewhere and helping out those that might be new or still unnerved by their change of location was a start, a small one but a beginning no less. "You need any help I'm your girl, well uh I'll try to be I'm still getting used to everything myself" and she'd been here several weeks now. "I'm Korra by the way," tapping a thumb to her chest, perhaps her attitude was a little too upbeat considering their situation but she tried to think positive, or outwardly show it at least.
★ ; so much for the noodles [ OPEN | INTRO ]
Oh, man.
This was bad.
This was very, very bad.
At the absolute worst time possible, Bolin found himself in… wherever this place was called right before Pro-bending finals. It was odd, considering he had always wanted to travel the world. To journey to distant lands, talk with people from other continents, tribes, and kingdoms, maybe try some their grub (no, not maybe—must). And yet, of all the times possible, his simple wish came true. Luck was a jerk.
“Alright, this really isn’t funny,” he mumbled, though more to himself than anyone else. “Nope, not funny at all. Far from funny. Un-funny. Totally unfunny.”
Bolin let out a small huff, scratching his head as he tried to make sense out of the situation. Last he remembered he was at Narook’s enjoying a bowl of awesome noodles to ease himself for finals and… everything after that was a blur. The question as to how he arrived and why lingered.
Hold the thought. What about Korra and Mako? What would they do without him? They needed him for the finals. He had to be there or the team would forfeit to those jerky White Falls Wolfbats—to that nasty dude Tahno. No, that wasn’t an option. He had to get back no matter the circumstances.
More determined to get back to the arena for the match, the earthbender turned to find someone of help. Anyone. Even a scary bro would work. Just anyone who could tell him where he was and how to get back.
He rounded the corner, and luckily, Bolin found someone who looked friendly enough. Hopefully they knew the location better than he did.
“Uh, hey,” he greeted, giving a small wave of ‘hello,’ “d’you happen to know what this place is called? Oh, and how far it is from Republic City…? I’m kind of in a hurry to get somewhere.”
How long had it been? A couple of weeks? A month? Honestly she hadn't been paying attention to the time and each day ended up blurring into the next. Though at least she hadn't been utterly alone in this abstract world, yet she wished for familiar company that would actually talk back, Naga wasn't exactly the best conversationalist. Still she'd met several friendly folks here, some nicer than others and all very different from each other as expected considering they all hailed from other worlds. The concept was still hard to swallow, to think other places existed outside of her own world was more than bizarre. But not completely out of the question, after all the spirit world was a world in itself why throw out the possibility of there being others?
Such complicated thoughts easily jumbled up in her mind and often she would discard them and take a walk to clear her head. Tenebris wasn't exactly the ideal place to take a nice, peaceful stroll and the forest even less so from what she'd heard, plus her last visit there she'd gotten horribly lost. Perhaps she'd visit the bakers again, the girl there had sold all kinds of delicious treats and stuffing her face with sugary goodness sounded like a good idea. However her journey to said bakers had been surprisingly disrupted in the best way possible. For however long she'd been here she'd not found anyone she knew, perchance a girl hailing from the Fire Nation but none that were her friends. To see the Earth Bender or what she believed to be, talking to someone, just standing there on the road to where she was heading brought a ridiculous grin to her face.
Without much thought she literally charged up to him, almost disregarding whomever he'd stopped to speak to.
"Bolin! Bolin you're here!" Her voice overjoyed to have finally found someone she knew, someone she called friend. With hands raised she eagerly wrapped strong arms around his torso, her rather unusual strength able to pick him up off the floor slightly. "Am I glad to see you! How long have you been here? When did you get here? Is Pabu with you? Have you seen any of the others?" Her flurry of questions rather nonsensical, "man but I am so happy you're here I thought I was the only one."
Luka simply nodded in approval. Nearly everyone preferred to call her by her first name, as expected. Crescent hues glanced at the tan female’s attire. It was very much different than the usual winter outfits she’s seen others wear before. By no means is she near home anymore.
“Yeah.. It would seem so… Where am I, exactly?” she questioned, glancing at the duos surroundings as if an answer were to suddenly reveal itself.
Ah for once! Someone who admitted to being lost straight away! It seemed to be a regular occurrence wherein she'd ask those who looked to be lost if they needed assistance and would usually end up being declined. Some people just didn't like admitting to such things trying to uphold their prideful nature or simply didn't want to bother Korra. So it was somewhat refreshing to hear the other ask for her whereabouts.
"Well this is Pandora, don't ask me how you got here I'm still tryin' to figure that one out for myself" she explained unsure how her new acquaintance would take the news as it were. It wasn't exactly the easiest thing to digest, unless where Luka originally came from such happenings weren't so strange. "If you want specifics though this is Tenebris, not exactly the nicest place ever" gesturing to their rather gloomy surroundings.
