5pm aka Tully Tree. I tend to lurk and reblog stuff randomly. Occasionally there’s art (fan art, sketches). (Fanvids, gifs) There will probably be posts about CLAMP (mostly Tsubasa, TBX, CCS Clear Card) (CLAMPlove), Supernatural (5pm watches spn), Smallville (smallvillian) and Shaman King (ShamanKing). Please see the ABOUT section for some tag navigation.
The links in my blog description only work if you’re viewing it at five-p-m.tumblr.com or in the app (and might be unavailable sometimes), so here’s some tag navigation for tumblr.com/five-p-m:

CLAMP | CLAMPlove
Supernatural, the Winchesters | 5pm watches spn
Smallville | smallvillian

Huge thank you to @five-p-m for hunting down alternate translations of this scene and putting them in the comments! I've edited this translation into the places that make the most sense to me (since Kodansha also had text in the wrong speech bubbles) and here we go! An actually readable version of these pages.
Some big changes include:
Lava Lamp and Watanuki actually feel like they’re talking to each other
It’s now clear they AREN’T planning on trading in Evil Wolverine’s curse
We can tell that Watanuki and Lava Lamp are going to help decipher appropriate prices for each other, to help arrive at the correct balance
And most importantly, they don’t just loudly announce “THE PRICE!” in the final panel, like Kodansha said. Here it’s much much clearer that their sentence trails off and they decide their prices off screen. When we return to them on the next page, they are opening their eyes again, having said their price where we can’t see. (see the Kodansha page below)
THIS ALL MAKES SO MUCH MORE SENSE.
Gosh, the difference a fluid translation makes? Incomparable. I actually understand the chapter now.
@completeoveranalysis if anyone is interested, for reference:
I've looked up the original:
「侑子さんがいれば
ふさわしい対価を
教えてくれるかも
しれないけれど」
("If Yuuko were here, she might be able to tell us the appropriate price.")
("But now… she’s not here so… ")
("A person doesn’t know about oneself
However, we are the same but we are not the same")
(We might understand
If each other’s price for getting out of here fits/is proportionate)
("The final curse cast by Fei Wong")
("If it's not important it can't become the price")
It seems like the official translator, Wiliam Flanagan, was confused by this dialogue. Which is super relatable! >_<
When Lava Lamp says: 分かるかもしれない "wakaru kamo shirenai" — it could mean "I might understand" or "we might understand", there is no indication grammatically. So William Flanagan translated this part as "I may know the answer! I just don't know if it matches the price of leaving here!" and it makes sense to translate it this way. But Fail Manga's interpretation where Lava Lamp continues Watanuki's thought makes better sense and is probably closer to what CLAMP meant.
The readability of this page in the official version is not helped by the fact that the order of the word bubbles got messed up, as you've pointed out. 😔
psa don’t look at the notes bc there are so many people completely missing the point that these are non-romantic strings of fate and making dumb jokes about where the red string “must be” and it’s making me really angry bc we can’t even have a good artistic representation of aromanticism without people desperately grasping for a romantic interpretation somehow
