It's @azrisweek & I haven't drawn any azris ever. But I was testing out some brushes and decided to do a little sketch of these enemies to lovers.

i know if your parents are from different countries you can inherit either nationality or both but wouldn't it be more fun if they drew a line between the spot one parent was born and the spot the other parent was born and you got the nationality of wherever the midpoint of that line is? just a thought to spice things up. like if you have one algerian parent and one egyptian parent then you get libyan nationality. it's awesome too because many people would get ocean nationality.

house of the dragon's narrative choice to butcher alicent's devotion to her children in favour of pursuing rhaenicent would be better if they actually, y'know, pursued rhaenicent

aegon evolve vs rhaenyra's decline is actually very well written. because rhaenyra's problem is that she has never seen the outside world. even during the war, she's either cooped up at dragonstone or the keep. she doesn't know her people, or people in general. she only ever interacts with her servants and her family member. that's why she's so tragically unprepared to rule. she expects absolute loyalty just because, she expects the people in KL to just cope with the situation in the city and sympathize with her because the hightowers are scheming against her, she humiliate her dragonriders without even considering the consequences. aegon's evolvement is about his journey. he learned that his position could be taken away at any second, he was betrayed, he lived as a fugitive, he MET people, he learned, he listened. he become smarter. and when he made his choice to stay and be buried with his dragon, it doesn't feel naive or foolish. also, he told larys and tyland to save themselves. he understands that his "servants" will still value their lives over blind loyalty to him and he doesn't blame them. BUT then tyland still chooses to stay with him. and i think that's the first spark of hope for aegon. he's not alone. i loved the moment he sees the army and hesitate, but then he just commits. i think having tyland there, and him asking aegon if he wants to flee - and he doesn't judge him, he basically tells him "i'll support you no matter what", and aegon never had someone like that in his life. and that's when he commits. he finds his courage, and gets his dragon back. i'm curious to see how the writers will develop their dynamic. i really hope tyland will stay with aegon because i think aegon really needs him.

hotd is so confusing because they'll have great scenes like that and then that goofy dragon stand-off & whatever the f is going on in harrenhall in one ep lol it's either good or really bad

when you think about it destiel really are the "what if orpheus never looked back?" thesis - like imagine an orpheus who's obedient, who knows how to be good so his father and brother stay, who knows how to wager with hades (and has done so, time and time again), who won't look back even if it rips him apart because his pain doesn't matter so long as she stays.

but here's an eurydice who doesn't care about living if it means orpheus won't love her, who needs a real, tangible manifestation of orpheus' love even if it damns them both because she's already dead. there's no saving her, she doesn't want to be saved. only to die knowing she was loved.

and so orpheus doesn't look back. and eurydice dies anyway, because she was never going to come back with him in the first place. either he looked back and accepted that there was no more he could do, or she stays dead because he's too terrified to love her as she is.

Draped in a cloak of crimson-dyed wool, her eldest son stands before her. A ruby-hilted sword hangs from the baldric slung across his chest, and his leather boots are tipped with mud. In the adjoining parlor, the padding footsteps of a hound creak along the wooden floorboards.

Eyes yellow as a hawk’s rest on her chest, where the swaddled bundle of her sleeping newborn is tucked safely against her. She tightens her grip.

“Funny,” she says, “he’s never much cared where I spend my time before.”

how do you guys feel about vanserra ocs??? i've got so many ideas knocking around in my head and no fic narrative for them to go...

I feel so bad for Eris Vanserra; he keeps correctly reading the situation and then having people get mad at him for doing what they wanted him to do.

Mor sleeps with Cassian in the hopes of that ending her engagement with Eris. Eris hears about it and is like, she slept with Cassian? I am ending our engagement. For all we know he gave Mor a fucking wink and thumbs up from across the room as he said it; I doubt she would have noticed or cared regardless.

Mor gets dumped on the Autumn Court border by Keir (and it’s weird that all the blame and anger about this situation seems to be directed at Eris and not Keir, you know the one who actually tortured her). And Eris is like don’t touch her or she’s our responsibility. Hey Mor, checking in, you don’t want to become our responsibility and be forced to live in the Autumn Court, right? And Mor is like I’d rather die, asshole. And Eris is like, got it, roll out boys. And given that we know Eris sent an anonymous tip to Tamlin when Lucien went on the run, it does not seem crazy to assume that after the encounter with Mor, Eris might have secretly sent Azi a note like come get your girl.

And then we have the plan to have Nesta seduce Eris at the ball in order to strengthen his commitment to their alliance. And after he dances with her he goes to Rhysand and is like, hey, I noticed you had Nesta come seduce me and yes, I am in, let’s discuss marriage alliance.

And yet somehow he’s the asshole in these situations. Poor guy.

and no, i'm not a minor the show came out AFTER I WAS BORN!!!!!! some of her best work was done at the dinner table while i did homework. and no one will ever find out what work that is because i would genuinely rather chug detergent!!!! she quit a while back to pursue formal authorship <3
