how am i supposed to process all of the information i received today. will is driving mack’s car around vancouver while mack plays passenger princess, they went to get coffee (mack paid) and mack is playing drake essentials from will’s phone as they drive. im not crazy at all. i’m so normal
i am not even a ryan leno/aiden celebrini fan but i was struck this afternoon with a romcom style fake dating wedding hookup au for them and i have been ruminating on it for a few hours now.
below the cut is a synopsis of the 50-100k fic i wrote in my head.
I could see it where they meet at the (no hockey) WillMack wedding and maybe they are both groomsmen or maybe NEITHER of them are groomsmen... or maybe just aiden is and leno is just a guest. and they're both weirdly upset for different reasons and have an ill advised wedding night hookup.
maybe aiden got dumped and is upset his baby bro is getting married before him even though he was like, engaged two years ago and it didn't work out for [insert any reason at all here] reasons. the willmack wedding with be both extravagant and audacious and over the top AND a shotgun wedding they've been together less than two years threw the wedding together in like six months. maybe they are independently wealthy from idk whatever makes people rich or maybe its just their rich parents. its not really about them but aiden is feeling sort of bad for himself this should be his ridiculously lavish wedding.
and ryan is upset because like... who invites their ex to their wedding? like sure it was high school and its been years and they're friends and he's over it but like... what the hell? and also its a whole wedding weekend maybe even at a destination. so thats doubly annoying because now ryan has to like. go to the welcome dinner and the shower luncheon and the rehearsal dinner and the day after brunch and it's like. sort of ridiculous that will is making him do this. and he wants to be mad at will but also he is overrrrr it. except for all of the ways he's secretly not like maybe they broke up because will wasnt ready to come out which is a totally normal thing it is just also like. and now im at his gay wedding with this super rich super cool nice guy. but ryan is over it. its been years hes over it.
and where is gabe thank you for asking he is unable to make it because his beautiful gorgeous wife that he has 2.5 kids with is pregnant again. he is the only nhler here also btw. just an aside.
so this welcome dinner. its sort of stupid and insane and the portions are way too small but the bar is open so it's fine. leno and aiden both are at this weird singles table of people who do not know each other including at least two separate couples from will and mack's jobs who actually are hooking up and will start cross hooking up this weekend thus becoming a weird complicated undernegotiated foursome. but this also isnt about them. but one of the couples starts making out at the table and leno and aiden aren't sitting next to each other but like across between these two people making out and they're sort of disgusted and sort of annoyed and also sort of jealous.
and they end up getting drunk at the open bar together and hooking up in the bathroom or something before they go back and help break down the party, aiden because its his best man brother of the groom job and leno because he actually is staying at a shitty cheap hotel across town to torture himself and needs to sober up before he goes back there. instead they go to the hotel bar and get drunk AGAIN because aiden is putting it all on his room which his brother and/or father is paying for. and obviously they end up in aiden's room and they fuck.
in the morning SOMEONE (i think mack) catches leno trying to walk of shame out of there except not really because aiden and him fucked again in the morning and then he showered and aiden gave him a change of clothes so it's not like. really a walk of shame except that mack literally sees him walk out of his brother's room.
and mack immediately tells will and they are soooooooo excited their favorite people are together because willmack cannot conceptualize that love at first sight isnt real. they don't know how to say ummm it was actually a sort of drunk hook up... and they have this whole wedding weekend to get through but the sex was good so they sort of let it slide a little if it means they can have some easy uncomplicated not secret hook ups over the weekend
except the wedding ends up being the wedding weekend from hell and its sort of a disaster for everyone involved in the wedding party which means leno ends up way more involved than he wants to be which then starts to make things really complicated. he ends up like bringing the rings up or something that makes him feel a bit crazy.
so they think awesome going our separate ways. except they both live in the same city and will and mack are CONVINCED they are in this all consuming young love and maybe will and mack had been trying and failing to set them up with other people for months and they were sort of fed up with that too. so they end up keeping up this weird charade and they like each other really so it's sort of working out...
eventually will and leno will have a heart to heart and work out their issues and aiden will talk about his looming daddy issues and why his engagement failed (probably because of his dad) and they will address the fact that the ill advised hookup really was a bad idea and blah blah blah all of that real romance stuff. and there is 100% a third act break up about all of their issues that culminates in a very dramatic kiss in the rain which leads to shitty but loving shower sex.
and then they realize they like each other and move in together and adopt 2.5 dogs.
i just think aiden celebrini is very cutieful. sorry. sue me.
