lately you've been feeling like you're being followed. you'd turn around and find nothing. you feel like someone's looking at you through the window of your house, even seeing a shadow forming...but its just the tree and the breeze...

another time when you're on a date, and this douchebag doesn't wanna leave you alone and starts getting all handsy so you have to pry him off and dash towards your home while he whistles from behind for you

and the next day you wake up to a ring on your doorbell and a note stuck on the pavement...

now obviously a rational part of you was scared thinking who was this man? why does he know this? but honestly you were more relieved over the fact that that guy is not gonna disturb you

an idea strikes you that if he was the guy who's been stalking you without any action, why not put him to work? so you start leaving grocery list on the doorstep on a sticky note before leaving for work and then coming back to a bag full of even medicines you were out of on the kitchen counter

he is this close to becoming your maid. he brings you groceries, midnight snacks, meds, household supplies, sometimes even slipping some money inside the bag. but honestly you can't really complain couse you feel like you're becoming rich now that the 'mystery man' has been helping you...but it can't be that guy whom you've been seeing frequently these days right?

a normal day starts normally for normal people

but not for the troublesome trio. you (along with grim), deuce and ace are the infamous tomfoolers of the school. hell probably even sage island. so infamous that when the school is quite without any stuff happening, it gives people shivers

your shenanigans start around 12 o'clock. just after having your lunch. climbing tree in the yard, bitching about crowley cuz he won't increase your wages (yes wage, you're crowley's unofficial and probably illegal worker)

some students would even whisper, "hey...its awfully quite today no?" and all his friends would just facepalm because bro jinxed it and jinxed it bro did because AS SOON AS he said that a blast erupted from alchemy class when...its not even time for classes? dude what are you guys doing in the lab you want Crewel to send you three to the seven themselves?

its a constant headache for Riddle and Trey since riddle has to collar ace, deuce and grim (not you because clear favouritism and you're magicless anyway so whats he gonna take from you? your soul?) and Trey sometimes accompanied by Cater has to bail you three out

Not a day goes by without something or someone breaking. whether its a 1000 year old apple tree (which is prolly fake byt crowley won't admit it) or just some glass vials.

even Azul would "graciously" have to extend a contract which would ensure you three don't cause mischeif. which you obviously vehemently deny cause we all know this guy's upto no good

Kalim, Lilia and Idia have the most fun outta it all. Idia calls you three the "SSR characters with peak team comp" and Lilia just waves it off as "youthful hazards". Kalim honestly doesn't even get whats happening he just grins like the sun incarnate. Leona and Malleus are just nonchalant about this and Sebek, Jack and Epel pretend to not know you guys (traitors i say)

"Someone's gotta keep everyone on their toes!" Ace would try to defend himself but...there's honestly nothing to defend when he was selected as the 'dumbest' of the trio on a poll held on NRC's anonymous page

Honestly you are the only responsible one out of all. even though Deuce tries but fails cause anyone having Ace as their friend is bound to get into a host of trouble. bye bye honour student role lmao

alright, i'll be the one to say it. ao3 and tumblr becoming "mainstream" did so much damage to the community and the writers. i have seen loads of videos and posts about:

1. people hating on writers and fics. writing is something we do for free and for fun. if you stumble upon a fanfic that isn't necessarily your cup of tea or you just don't like, scroll. dont read it. literally leave their page. you don't know if this could be the author's first work that they're so excited about, you dont know if the language they're writing in isn't their first language, you dont know that the writer could be a literal teen and loads of other reasons. fanfictions don't HAVE to be perfect. you write what you want to write because we do it for fun and enjoyment and we want to share that to the world. seriously, what is the wrong with that?..

2. x reader consumers getting WAY too entitled. the number of tiktoks i've seen that say "i run a strict program when it comes to reading fanfics." girl you aint running shit. this is FAN FICTION you're reading. F A N F I C T I O N. there is no denying that most fanfiction writes are beyond talented but just because you read one fanfic that exceeds your expectations doesn't give you the right to talk down on others that don't. people have their own personal writing style, their way of doing things and you talking shit on that isn't right.

at the end of the day, we are all humans, reading and writing is what we do and what we're meant to do. and for you to talk shit about a person WRITING is so insane. we are humans. not some robots that you can tell what to do so you can consume it.

i've seen so so many authors take down their fanfics and losing all motivation to write because of a hate comment. DONT LIKE DONT READ‼️

and to every author reading this, this community values your work and your contribution. we love u and, please, never let anyone's negative words have an effect on you.

Ironic isn't it? Blade, a man who chases death but death has always been faster and his lover being a guiding spirit of death who guides people to their death. Who can guide every soul to rest except his.

For your calm and serene nature, it came as quite a whipsplash to you when you couldn't tie his thread to the world of dead or guide him to rest. There's always some turmoil inside him which....you couldn't fix no matter what. so you resorted to what you can do best, as his lover, that is giving him internal peace.

you noticed how, early on in your relationship his shoulders were always tensed and how fast his hand would whip to the hilt of his sword even when he was out travelling. you were exasperated at him.

and he was used to distance himself a lot too, often opting to hide or not show his emotions. so you just decided to drop some things about youself in exchange for him opening up to you

you would share how your life was before, your hometown, your friends and family and as you two bonded further and he started warming up to you more, you would tell him how you died. soon in the confines of your room, infront of the fireplace he will tell you his past. the warmth of the fireplace a reminder of what you two lost; families, love and the vigour of life...

it was quite...two people tied to a fate none of you wanted. a death spirit guiding souls yet unable to guide the very one who needed death the most and the one whom you loved

eventually, he started finding his peace again...mostly when you were near

his shoulders would be relaxed, his eyes would hold a gentle gaze and he started to sleep better often. he started to become more comfortable around the stellaron hunters too and you would jokingly call him 'girl dad' with the way he cooked food for silver wolf and drove firefly to her destination

every member of the stellaron hunter treated you as a family too. you were the one who brought peace to Blade and they couldn't be more thankful for letting you help him find what he lost

it was supposed to be a fun sleepover with the first years...

you guys were playing when suddenly grim started foaming at the mouth and stiffened up. you and your friends rushed to the hospital. it all happened in the blink of an eye and you don't even know what to feel right now...

your friends comforted you on the journey back as you held your tiny companion tightly in your arms.

you made sure to spend even more time with grim. you knew that he had already figured out what was going to happen to him noticing the change in your demeanor and your friends but...he also wishes to spend a lot of time with you too

you take him on walks around the NRC campus and the dorms. to the white sand beach near RSA. buy him lots and lots of toys, food and clothes in foothill town. make sure to never miss a single festival and take him there.

within a few months you had visited scalding sands, sunset savanna, shaftlands, queendom of roses, the coral sea, briar valley and even S.T.Y.X

your first, second and third year friends were a huge help, letting your wish to take grim on a journey across the world come true

and soon a few weeks before graduation...

grim wanted everyone to be here while he only wanted you in your shared bedroom...

a drag path but its your little furbaby who slow blinked at you countless times, and only kept looking at you, purring in your arms as you were fighting everything in you to make sure he only remembered your happy face before he finally breathed his last

Kalim hugged you tightly as he cried with you. Sebek accompanied you on all your lonely walks. Azul had the Leech twins drop off some food from the Mostro Lounge. Jamil would prepare herbal tea for you whenever insomnia hit you. Vil stayed behind to take care of you. Trey brought you homemade lunch every day.

you rested his little body underneath the willow tree which you two liked the most. you put sunflowers and forget me nots. at the bottom of the tree near the trunk you placed a tower made of tuna cans. it was a small castle which could snuggly fit his body. it was supposed to be a fun way of recycling after all the tuna he had. you two made it together and it had a photo of you two together inside. it was supposed to be a memento for when you would return to your world...

who would have thought he would be the first one to go? in another life maybe you two will spend a lifetime together

being Varka's drinking buddy was no joke...

well soft of? you only visited the flagship to gather more information to brooker to either the adventurer's guild, voynich guild or to straight up boss lady nefer.

places bustling with drunkards means loose lips and hushed conversations. sometimes you'd strike gold gathering a delicious piece of information that the fatui gladly eats up

you don't drink on the job. you just act tipsy

so one day while sitting in a quiet corner, playing with the liquid swirling in your glass as you eavesdrop on nearby conversations, a big bulky man sits in front of you neatly blocking your vision

startled you stare up and see a tuft of unkempt blonde hair and a ragged face with ocean for eyes. he was beaming...and he sorta reminded you of a golden retriever...

"...Grandmaster?"

"Ah and here i thought i was just only popular in Mondstadt among the maidens" he gave you a nearly blinding and carefree smile as he rested his arm on the wood creaking softly under the weight.

"Well the right people would know you. And I just happened to be one of those right people" you give him a courteous smile. you wave a hand to the bartender to refill your cups "My treat then? new friend?"

"Glad to be your friend uhh..." "Just call me [Name]"

he was refreshing sure but you can't really deny the fact that you hoped he would spill some tea in his drunken stupor. he had drowned almost a barrel of wine yet there was no information he was letting out.

'he's drunk yet his lips are sealed...what an interesting guy' you were walking with Varka in tow with his arm slung over your shoulder to one of the rooms in Flagship. Before throwing him on the bed, he mumbled a loud 'thanksiesss', smiling at you like a thousand suns just bursted on your face before it was lights out for him

and this went on for quite a lot of days too. you would hunt down information in the flagship after 9 pm, Varka would unceremoniously flop himself down infront of you, drink to death and you'd have to carry his huge body which was twice your size to bed.

and funnily enough, you started catching feelings for him. he was so carefree even after having so many responsibilities and so many burdens to bear after being the Grandmaster. And he was not just 'A Grandmaster' he was also 'the knight of Boreas' and we all know that when your title is that long, your job is also tough

during a celebration in Nod Krai when everything had settled down for good, and the moon goddess (even though nobody knew) was in attendance, hiding in plain sight so nobody disturbed her (but obviously you knew because you exchanged info for a living) Varka was enjoying himself with his fellow knights and friends before he dragged you closer to him

"Everyone! Meet my new friend! [Name] Haha! I owe them a lot for having to tuck me into bed"

People started giving you questionable looks like what did he even mean by 'tucking into bed' ? he's a grown man?? so you had to do the job and explain "No no guys i don't 'tuck him into bed' i just...carry him to his room because he can't stand and walk after drowning barrels of wine..." you had to scramble over your words, fighting the blush creeping on your cheeks

And when the moonlight was shining brightly in Nod Krai...

"Varka i owe you my thanks for saving me back there from the Wild Hunt but..." you sighed loudly "Must you really hoist me on your (big, thick) shoulder and carry me all the way to Nasha Town? It'll look like you're parading me!"

"Woah woah there! Can't i offer my 'friend' genuine help from the bottom of my heart? Besides you twisted your ankle so walking on that is sure to make it worse! And no sighing you'll become older! Hahaha!!" "You're older than me! You're just teasing me aren't you..." you plopped your face on your hands, looking anywhere but him

"Oh come on I'd say we are making steps to progressing our relationship yeah? Soon enough! All my knights in Mondstadt are quite interested about you! Mondstadt is a delight and you get authentic wine from there you'd have a blast!"

Uhm hold on let's back track...'steps to progressing our relationship'? What's that supposed to mean?!

"Uh Varka hey?! You've been ignoring me for the past 10 minutes! Mind elaborating?! Don't leave me hanging— H– hey! Hold on steady do you wanna throw me off this cliff?! Heyy!!!"

✿ a walk through the graveyard

while most would consider graveyards to be haunted locations, which they technically are whether or not due to popular belief...

but they have their own charm. just like another another place which is used to give people rest. the Lighthouse is the same, which guide people to safety and or serenity

but your instincts just...make you really aware and really scared of all the ghosts floating above their gravestones...and the gloomy sky and the awfully sinister way the lighthouse is standing tall isn't really helping the situation

so whats the best solution to this? why of course sticking as close as possible to Flins, probably even wrapping his arm around you as tightly as possible because who knows what might scoop you away and drag you to wherever

"eek! F– flins please stay close" you shrieked when a ghost floated across from one tombstone to another. when Flins is around the ghosts get real comfortable and they don't disappear when he comes closer and noticing how close you are to Flins and how your energy is bound harmoniously to one another, they assumed you as "friendly" as well

"My dear, do not worry. The spirits will cause you no harm. All they seek is rest....though i must admit, you seeking your safety in me is flattering" he said in his husky, soft tone. "Ugh Flins d– do we really have to have our date here?!" you scooted even closer to flins as a ghost grazed you by mere inches.

"Ngnn i can't Flins! *shrieks*" aaand that was your final straw as a ghost phased through you. you flopped like wet bread and had it not been for Flins flourishing you in his arms, your face would have kissed the ground first

"Oh now this is a little problematic. Let's make haste towards my humble abode. I assure you no ghosts will interrupt us or...phase through you like so" he laughed as he trudged through the soft mud and slate into the lighthouse
