Getting to the actual weaving part of weaving is so much fun, the color patterns I designed for these towels popped so nicely and were very satisfying to see come to life out of my notebook.
Turns out pre-planning DOES go a long way /grumble grumble/
Apologies to those who are waiting for the finished piece from this post. I had to put it aside for a moment to focus on creating gifts for my loved ones' birthdays that are coming up. So instead of the end result of the previous project, here is another work in progress - it's going to be a space-themed wall hanging! My boyfriend's workspace and taste are very celestial, and we both love stargazing and moon worship. I will publish the finished version as well once it's displayed ✨🌙
🥕 Veggie Patch Needle Book Tutorial
I feel this is the longest tutorial I've written, but not because it's incredibly complex - I was trying my best to cover as much detail, as possible.
This is one of my favourite designs, and I really wanted to make it accessible to everyone to make or simply to be inspired by.
You can watch the sew-along video here, or purchase the detailed PDF with photos and detailed diagrams here. I tried my best. Hope, you'll like it.
For National Embroidery Month, sharing some close-ups of my in-progress Animorphs embroidery! Thread painting based on animal pictures, broken up by sparkly blue structures to signify morphing.

These weirdos are coming with me to Inkblot Comics Festival tomorrow. Come and visit us. Or if you're reading this after 30th May 2026, use your time machine to come back in time and visit us.
Finally! Better photos of the Stephen West 'Seriously Holey' shawl I finished AGES ago! On a person!
🫛 🥕 I will never stop loving making these whimsy needle books.
I enjoy every bit of them, especially how tactile they are. They take forever and a day to embroider, crochet and needle felt.
I have a desire to make an A5 book cover, but I fear it's going to be way too expensive for me to be able to sell it.

Little leaf bug friend! He’s posable 💛
First time making a posable felt friend like this. All hand sewn! Took a long time but I’m proud of this little bugger
Beauty needs no audience.
Normally, I wouldn't share photos of myself, but I was sewing a bit, so here you go. Old duvet cover transformed into a frilly shirt, haha.
For those who are interested - for the shirt I was pretty much following the instructions here and here. It's very nicely described and because it's basically only made out of rectangles the pattern is very simple to make and in general it's not difficult to sew at all. I had to make it quite a bit smaller though and the sleeves are still rather too long for me, which may look stylish on photos but it's a bit too much. :'^)
The first link also has instructions for the neckcloth and other 18th century items ✨

Stitch Block Cowl
This free pattern via Purl Soho is utterly delicious!
Here’s a bit of what Purl Soho says about the pattern:
I’ve done a lot of knitting in my life, so much that I sometimes wonder if there are any stones left unturned, but this Stitch Block Cowl took me into new terrain. I’ve knit colorwork and I’ve knit “in the row below”, but I’ve never done the two together. It’s terrifically easy and proves, once again, that knitting is inexhaustibly interesting.
