My journey with Hellenic Polytheism ♡ I’m disabled so please bare with me! ✿ This place is for my reblogs and casual scrolling, my side blogs are dedicated to the Theoi I actively worship! ✿ Side blog! @notfluxieee
Khaîre! I am new-ish to tumblr and helpol so please bare with me, I am learning as much as I can! If you interact with my posts, I can't read any special fonts as I am dyslexic so please be considerate!
Name: Iris, but you can call me Ira!
I am a minor (barely, but still.) and I am a lesbian as well as girlflux (they/she pronouns). Please bare with me as I may ask some stupid sounding questions or not understand things when you explain them to me in a certain way.
I love nature, drawing, writing and coffee, oh and tea. You will never catch me without a cup of tea or coffee istg.
I am actively worshipping King Zeus, Lady Hekate, Lord Apollon and Lady Aphrodite, however I worship the whole Greek pantheon!
I am actively learning divination, I don’t have any intentions to communicate with the deities I worship anytime soon, as I dont feel ready and I’d want to build up way more Kharis first. Any tips are much appreciated!
I don't think I have anything else to add, so I hope you are all having a great day!
PS: as I learn more, I may edit or add to this post!

I love my gods. I love them so much that they are in my every step, my every breath. Wisdom, strength and courage all stitched into my being, passed down by divinity.
They are present in my actions, my words, and thoughts. My very existence has been molded by them.
I am an extension of their will. Not by birth, not by tradition, not by force.
You can be talking to someone and she'll be like, "Oh I made a silly mistake. Women don't deserve voting rights teehee." And you'll be like, "What." And she'll be like, "Oh I'm sorry! That must sound so bad out of context. No it's this Tiktok meme where, if you're a girl and you do something dumb, you say 'Women don't deserve voting rights teehee.'"
And you'll be like, "That sounds bad." And she'll be like, "No no. It's totally not that bad. It's just a meme. Men say it too. Like if a man does something silly he'll be like, 'I am like those women who do not deserve to vote.'" And you'll be like, "Does that make it better?" And she'll be like, "Well there was one guy who tried to make 'Men shouldn't vote' a popular meme. But it never caught on and also he got yelled at a lot."
And then you drop it there because like, you're harshing the vibe.
I love being polytheistic because like wdym I can just start worshipping ANY god and even if I don’t know a god too well I can just like go “this for you” AND THEY STILL ACCEPT THAT??

I think it's easy for us polytheists to fall into a black-and-white trap regarding UPGs/experiences of the divine. Either every bird and candle flicker is a sign from the Gods, or we dismiss all experiences as total coincidence and fail to see the gods in our daily lives.
Have we considered...writing it down?
I keep a notes app log of all my subjective encounters with the Gods. If I experience something surprising, out of place, or oddly convenient, I write it down. I don't analyze -- just record the facts and how I felt in the moment.
Logging my experiences allowed me to notice patterns. I now know that when I see/hear a god's name several times, within a short time frame (typically 2 days - 1 week), in unexpected, unrelated places -- maybe I should listen up. I also experience "camera zoom" in many of these cases, where I'm staring into space and a sign slides neatly into view, or I'm "panning" and my eyes choose to focus on a minute detail, which upon further examination ends up being deity-related.
At the same time, hindsight allows me to understand that the crows outside and the local business named after Apollo....are just local birds and companies that work in my area. While journalling can highlight potential divine interactions, it can also highlight cases where we fell for confirmation bias and keep us humble.
Treating subjective experience with a more objective lens allows us to build trust in ourselves and our practice by keeping us grounded in reality, while also recording unique experiences. If you haven't already, I highly recommend writing things down!
hey guys, chronic pain and fatigue have been really slowing my down recently and impacting my worship, does anyone have any advice or tips on how to make worship more accessible? this is for Hellenic Polytheism btww!
Your room is the most important place in your life. You sleep, wake up, heal and experience many emotions just in your room. You have to take care of your room, so it is spiritually the ideal place to grow into the best version of yourself.
KEEPING YOUR ROOM CLEAN
Keeping your room free of mess is an act of mindfulness and self-discipline that supports your overall journey and connects you with your higher self. It helps with promoting clarity, and cultivating inner balance and is an everyday self-care ritual.
Make your bed every day. You have to respect the place in which you sleep and heal.
Hang up clean clothes after the day or put any dirty clothes in your laundry hamper, avoid tossing them on the floor.
Find a place for everything, and know where everything is. If you do not know where each thing in your room is located, you either have too much clutter or you’re disorganised.
Tidy up your room daily, neatly putting everything away in its place. If needed, buy a few organisers.
Don’t leave rubbish for extended periods. Treat your room like a temple, don’t disrespect it, and pick up after yourself.
Try to avoid eating meals in your bedroom. We forget the dirty dishes over time, and it stinks and attracts unwanted bugs.
Change bed sheets regularly. Once a week at the most, for more hygienic reasons though.
Remove unwanted items on your bedside table. Keep it minimal and intentional with anything you want to place on it.
Regularly clean up the dust in your room, using a duster or a damp microfiber cloth on all of the surfaces.
ENCOURAGING GROWTH IN YOUR LIFE
A room designed to encourage inner growth serves as a physical reminder of your commitment to self-improvement, personal development, and overall well-being. It creates an environment helpful to improvement, self-reflection, and positive change.
Keep specific areas of your room designated to one task in your life. For me, my desk is for productivity, my bed is for resting or relaxing and my bedroom floor is for mindful activities.
Throw away any items that do not serve a purpose to you anymore. Avoid keeping items that bring you painful or harmful memories.
Minimise the presence of technology in your room. I suggest having zones in your room which is device-free or having a time of day in which devices are not allowed in your room.
Create a vision board poster in your room that you can see every day, which helps to visualise and motivate you to create your dream life.
Place meaningful quotes, affirmations, mantras or prayers as reminders of the values, mindsets or intentions you wish to cultivate in your life.
Display personal achievements. If you won any awards or certificates, place them in a way in which you can view them every day. If you have done something in your life that you think is an achievement but have no award to display, just simply create your own. Buy some balsawood and glue it together to create your own medal.
Place items that align with the habits or routines you want to cultivate in your life so that they are easily accessible. Put a workout mat in the corner, always have your journal on your desk or have a cold water bottle ready to go when you wake up.
3. DECORATING YOUR ROOM TO REFLECT YOU
Decorating your room in a way that reflects your true self brings a sense of authenticity and comfort. It creates a nurturing environment that allows for self-expression, reflection, and personal growth which ultimately contributes to your journey of inner development.
Make a mood board or vision board of how you would want your room to look, how it supports you and how it makes you feel. Choose a colour scheme in this process as well.
Add candles or incense that you think embodies who you are, or who you want to be. For example, if I want to be a cleaner person, I would choose a candle that smells like fresh linen.
Put up posters of things that you like, people who you look up to or anything that expresses who you are.
Add a canopy to your bed while you sleep. So cute, and I believe it helps protect you from any unwanted energy entering through you while you sleep.
Add a rug, even if you already have carpet, to enhance the cozy ambience of the room.
An ottoman at the end of the bed can elevate your room to look more expensive, if needed, it can also be an organiser for your extra things.
Put life in your room, adding low-maintenance plants or flowers can liven it up. A little extra, research some plants or flowers meaning’s and pick one that resonates with you.
Display any of your favourite jewellery, bags, clothing pieces, or make-up around your room. A nice way to appreciate what you have, without actually using them.
“you should be at the club” i should be by the sea. i should be in the mountains. i should be awestruck and rendered speechless by the majesty of the natural world. if you even care
Often, in occult communities, I see a complete disregard for ethics of any kind. There are people out there who can list complete herbal correspondences for each of the planets, recite prayers in Greek and Latin, etc., but they do not have any form of ethical conduct established. Your practice can only be as good as you are.
I think this kind of memorising various abstract pieces of information is a way to spiritually bypass the hard work of actually becoming a better person while still having a feeling of being spiritually advanced. It's much less challenging to learn the astrological decan correspondences in the tarot than to help out in your community, refrain from gossip, spend quality time with friends and family, etc.
In the western esoteric tradition, it's a very common pitfall. By the end of it all, you end up with a mind full of useless information and correspondences that ultimately serve no purpose in bringing you closer to any spiritual or temporal goal, you waste immense amounts of time absorbing information only for you to never use it.
In order to avoid this, I'd recommend the following exercise while studying. Every time you encounter such an abstract piece of information, attempt to bring it down to a mundane level. How will this help you in your day to day life? What's a lesson you can extract from it? And so on. Spirituality is a holistic experience, and an important lesson is that everything is interconnected. If you keep spiritual information and lessons separate from actual life lessons, you'll end up burned out and dissatisfied.
i'm so excited because from tomorrow to wednesday i'm going to celebrate, respectively, hekate's δειπνον (deipnon), νουμηνία (noumenia) and αγαθός δαίμον (agathos daimon) for the first time ever 🥹 i can't wait to experience them
