it’s always so insane to me how quick people are to drag rapunzel in s1 for everything that went down in QFAD. keep in mind, this is an 18-year-old girl who spent her entire life trapped in a tower, never experiencing the outside world, and has only been out for less than a year. then she’s put in a castle where she’s also barely allowed to leave and is somehow expected to already have everything in her life figured out. i’m not trying to undermine what happened with varian because he is my favorite, but blaming rapunzel for what happened as if she even had much of a say in the matter is crazy. everything that went down in that episode should be blamed on king frederic. he’s the one who made sure rapunzel wasn’t seeing varian and had everything to happen the way it did

The fact that the main characters like the secondary ( the tangled crew ), except Varian, didn't have a proper childhood:

- Rapunzel had been stolen from her childhood when Gothel kinnapted her

- Eugene was abandoned by his father, put on an orphanage but then leave and then met the baron which he has a toxic embiroment

- cass was menthally abused by Gothel and she was abandoned as a child, the captain adopted her but she wasn't happy in corona

- Stalyan was raised to be someone like the baron, someone controlling and toxic but never got a proper childhood to be a good person

- angry and red where orphan kids who steal to scape from the baron because he is a dangerous man

Varian in the other hand had a father who raised him with love, despite quirin being strick he did love varian but Varian felt he needed to do more to caugh his attention.

Another rant of Stalyan but this time is heart warming 🥹

Eugene and Stalyan were always meant to be doomed because they couldn't heal or get out of the toxic embiroment, Eugene needed someone who sees his true self while Stalyan needed someone who didn't left her or made her feel she is the other woman. That's why Rapunzel and Brock were meant to always be pair for Eugene and Stal, Rapunzel saw in Eugene a good person besides his thief mask while Brock never left Stalyan's side of made her feel she is the other woman.

Also i felt that if Stalyan ended up alone it wouldn't make sence because her arc is about that Eugene left her for Rapunzel and she became an antagonist, following her father's order as Let him poison Lance and agree that Eugene should marry her. Her arc was healing after she realize that she needed to change to be happy and then she apologize to Rapunzel and Eugene and go find her way but it wouldn't be a closer because she still deals with her abandoned trauma, that's why i think that the writters decides to put her and Brock together like it a close to her arc and also to his arc that someone sees him for he truly is.
