My thoughts on “No Time Like the Past”

I wasn’t originally going to make a post about this one but due to some complaints I’ve heard, I thought it best to shed some light on a few topics.

First, a few thoughts:

- Loved seeing the younger characters. Very funny.

- Best cameo ever from 5 year old Varian.

- The Stan and Pete mustache thing was funny.

- I noticed Brian Hull’s voice and it made me smile.

Now for the rough stuff.

Why I agree with the angered fans:

I think the moral of this episode was a bit off. The whole “Friends don’t give up on each other” is a nice sentiment. But Eugene is right when he says that becomes null and void when one of those friends betrays that trust. Like Cass did.

The fact that Eugene’s mind was changed at the end was a little annoying to me. Because the way he was thinking wasn’t wrong. And even if it was wrong, I’m not okay with the idea of using time travel to change someone’s mind like that.

Why it’s not a big deal:

People are acting like Rapunzel did some awful act that seriously hurts Eugene. Let’s recap what happened.

- Raps and Eugene disagree about the issue of Cass.

- Raps gets sent back in time

- Young Eugene leaves young Lance behind but Raps yells at him for it (in this instance Raps is totally right. Lance and Eugene are super close and Lance didn’t do anything to harm him.)

- Raps returns back to her time to find that Eugene has taken her words to heart and now he is on Raps side.

I can get why people are upset at that. Eugene having a different opinion now. That definitely seems irritating and I agree. And it seriously disregards Eugene’s feelings on the matter. The thing is, don’t be mad at Raps for that.

Raps didn’t intentionally change his mind about that. And once she gets back, she’s not going to argue against her own point because he happened to change his. Raps didn’t know that was going to happen. She didn’t do anything malicious.

If you wanna say the moral of the episode is wrong and kind of upsetting, go ahead. Honestly I agree with you. But please don’t act like Rapunzel betrayed Eugene at all. She didn’t. All she did was try to protect a friend in the past which, while it made some changes in the future, she didn’t mean to change his mind.

People are making a big deal out of what’s really only a small problem. I disliked the Avatar episode of “The Great Divide” because I’m not a fan of the moral. It didn’t ruin Aang’s character for me or make him any less likable. Same with Raps here.

PLEASE HELP ME AND MY FAMILY

Few months ago I started asking for donations because my sister’s husband left with another woman and has move to another country. We didn’t know where excacly. He doesn’t pay for anything, he doesn’t send any money. He is a piece of shit. He was homophobic towards me, he cheated on her when she was pregnant. He was controlling and jealous of everything. But my sister stayed with him because of the child.

Also she had to leave the place they live for the last 9 years because it was bought by his parents and they told her to move out. They never liked her and us because my family is poor.

She is back now in our parents home where I sill live too. There’s only two small rooms in the house, kitchen and one bathroom. All of this for 5 people now. They sleep on the floor in my bedrooom.

Also a two months ago my sister had a car accident and her car was completely trash. And she needs one because we live 5km from school and there’s no bus on my street or the next one.

For the last couple of months we raised 843$. It goes for bills, school payments and supplies and meds.

My sister is really depressed now and we need to help her with everything. She started taking antidepressands. They are not cheap and she still doesn’t work. So I ask you to help us a little more, maybe a month or two. 

Also we all are strugling so much. We only have my father’s pension. that’s 1300zl for five people for the entire month. My health is not letting me work right now. I have asthma attacks almost every day. and I may have SM like my mom. Right now i don’t have money to buy meds. I’m 2 months behind with my bills.This is all the money I have:

Here are a few sketches from that Au, with this loki and thor I decided to take a different approach, then usually, I was highly inspired by Brother Bear movie 😉

I'd imagine this prince loptr being kind of energetic,talkative and friendly like Koda but slightyl sly and charismatic similar to kid loki from the comics 😋

Meanwhile Thor is a bit stuck up and he rarely has fun, since he has been prepared by Odin and the royal court to be a proper prince and later a proper king of all the realms(and the pressure to not let his father down is huge) him escaping to Jotunheim with a help of a certain witch Amora 😏 is probably the wildest thing he has ever done in his life, so in a way they both find eachother and realise what they were missing. Thor needs loki to open up more and be just a kid, and Loki needs Thor to have someone there for him, to have that friend he can have fun with😉

Young Thor desperate to prove his worth and earn his father’s respect goes off to Jotunheim to slay a giant and bring it’s head to his father, thus proving himself a good warrior, instead he runs into a jotun runt who goes by the name loki and unbeknown to Thor is actually prince loptr of jotunheim and Laufeyjarson, the tiny giant offers to take Thor back home and Thor learns that perhaps  the stories he learned about monstrous savage beasts living in Jotunheim are only partly true...cause surely Loki does not seem to fit the part

also I imagine this Loki being a combination of Koda from Brother Bear and the one we know from the comics and movies

Meanwhile Thor is at first distrustful, and slightly annoyed of the little talkative giant  following him around and trying to befriend him but later on the jotun grows on him, and he becomes protective of Loki kind of like an older brother would be of his sibling
