in 10 days ireland is having a referendum to hopefully repeal the 8th amendment, which equates the life of a foetus to that of an adult
abortion is currently 100% illegal in ireland with a penelty of up to 14yrs (rape is 7yrs, if even that) and up to 10 people travel to england to access abortion every single day
if you’re irish, remember go to vote Yes on May 25th. if you’re not irish but have irish friends, remind them to go vote Yes
(rb if ya can)
If someone is wearing makeup in the pool, don’t deliberately splash them. If someone has done their hair nicely, don’t mess it up. If someone in a t-shirt has scars on their arms, don’t ask them about it. If someone doesn’t want to get in the water, don’t push them. If someone still wants to wear jeans, don’t laugh at them for it. If someone has sweat patches, don’t point them out. If someone’s chest is obviously prominent, don’t stare. If you can see someone’s underwear/ binder, don’t comment on it. If someone is blatantly covering something up, don’t try to reveal it.
Not everyone can feel totally comfortable with the fact it’s Summer, don’t make them feel worse.
this is so important

My kink: not having to set alarm for the next morning
thank you anderson cooper 🇭🇹
Anderson Cooper: Before we go tonight, I just want to take a moment to talk about Haiti, one of the places the President of the United States referred to today as a “shithole country”.
I was taught math in high school by a Haitian immigrant named Yves Volel who worked hard, who dedicated himself to teaching kids in America. He ultimately returned to his country of Haiti and was assassinated while running for president.
I spent a lot of time in Haiti; I first went there in the early 1990s as a young reporter. In 2010 my team from CNN was the first international team of journalists on the ground after the earthquake struck. I spent more than a month there and have returned many times on assignment and on vacation.
Like all countries, Haiti is a collection of people. It’s rich and poor, well-educated and not, good and bad. But I’ve never met a Haitian who isn’t strong. You have to be to survive in a place where the government has often abandoned its people, where opportunities are few, and where Mother Nature has punished the people far more than anyone should ever be punished.
But let me be clear tonight. The people of Haiti have been through more. They’ve been through more, they’ve withstood more. They’ve fought back against more injustice than our President ever has.
Tomorrow marks exactly eight years since the earthquake struck Haiti. A 7.1 magnitude earthquake killed anywhere between 220,000 and 300,000 people. The actual numbers will never be known, because they were buried in unmarked pits. 1.5 million people were displaced. For days or weeks without help from their own government or police, the people of Haiti dug through rubble with their bare and bloodied hands to save complete strangers, guided only by the cries of the wounded and dying.
I was there when a young girl named Bee, who’d been trapped in rubble for nearly a day, was rescued by people who had no heavy equipment. They just had their God-given strength and their determination and their courage.
I was there… when a five-year-old boy named Monley was rescued after being buried for more than seven days. Do you know what strength it takes to survive on rainwater buried under concrete? A five-year-old boy, buried for seven days.
Haitians slap your hand hard when they shake it. They look you in the eye; they don’t blink. They stand tall, and they have dignity. It’s the dignity many in this White House could learn from. It’s the dignity the President, with all his money and all his power, could learn from as well.
On the anniversary of the earthquake, on this day when this President has said what he has said about Haitians, we hope that people in Haiti who are listening tonight in Port au Prince and Jacmel, in Bainet and Miami and elsewhere – we hope they know that our thoughts are with them, and that our love is with them as well.
Thanks very much for watching 360. Time to hand it over to Chris Cuomo for Cuomo Prime Time. Chris?
Chris Cuomo: Well said and an important message, especially tonight. Thank you for that, my friend.

Rule #1 when you see Hilda. Reblog her. Always.
Celebrating full sized women everywhere
Finally people are starting to listen to what women have been saying all along.
And in other news, water is wet
Not like women have been telling y'all this since the beginning of time or anything.
I mean, yeah, at one point three years ago I was curled up in a fetal position literally screaming/crying/gasping for breath on my bed in my dorm room, so my response to this headline is basically, “No shit.”
No wonder women are so likely to ignore heart disease/attack symptoms. If something isn’t as bad as my cramps, I figure it can’t be that bad.
THAT LAST COMMENT
No seriously. There aren’t enough people who understand how important that last comment is. I lost my right kidney four years ago because of “if something isn’t as bad as my cramps, I figure it can’t be that bad.”
My. Fucking. Kidney.
Don’t force people with periods to internalize and silence themselves when they have cramps!
Can confirm “can’t be that bad because period”. I had a kidney stone and it took me like 2-3 days to realize it wasn’t my period because it basically felt like that. Pain is normal for women (and other people with a uterus), it’s part of being a woman, and so we’re much less likely to know when the pain we’re having is bad because we deal with so much of it some much more often than men do. Pain is not always a “something is wrong” indicator for us.
jesus. I never thought of it that way.
Every woman rebloging this
@angryschnauzer
I remember I had cramps so bad that I passed out and vomited at school. Ppl thought I was dying and tbh it really felt like I was going to. :/
I’ve blacked out on MULTIPLE occasions from cramps. One time I was going to the bathroom to grab some ibuprofen- next thing I remember I’m on the floor. I had a sprained wrist and life quaking cramps after that.
i’m the same. when i first got my period (at 14 – late i know) i thought i was dying and my mum told me to go for a run. legit. i passed out in the kitchen and that’s when she realised i wasn’t faking this shit. i’ve been taken to hospital time and time again bc ibuprofen doesn’t help. i’ve been writhing in pain on the ground, screaming at my mum to help. literally everyone i’ve ever spoken to who’s dismissed my pain as me being dramatic has been cut from my life, and that’s fellow period-havers included
sure, not all men, but a lot of men, and we have no way of knowing which ones
“sure, not all black people, but a lot of black people, and we have no way of knowing which ones.”
This is exactly how you sound.
“sure, not all muslims, but a lot of muslims, and we have no way of knowing which ones.”
lettuce consult the fbi data:
Of the 1,864 women murdered in 2010, 91% were killed by men. (by contrast, of the 3,872 men murdered, only 9% were killed by women). Of all the women murdered (by either sex), over a third were killed by a husband or boyfriend. women have legitimate reason to fear men, even the ones they know.
Of the 3,327 white people murdered in 2010, only 13% were killed by black people. 3% were killed by other or unknown races. white people do not have a statistically legitimate reason to fear other races.
women’s fear of men is based in reality, not bigotry. white people’s fear of other races is based in bigotry, not reality.
This deserves much more than 294 notes
