I made a new dress! It’s merino knit which let me tell you is the most awesome fabric ever, and I blogged about it too. (there’s as pattern, sort of)

HEYYYY. So this has been finished for, like.... long enough that I’ve actually washed it a few times, and I’ve only gotten ‘round to photos this week. Here it finally is! Delightfully comfy and fitted to my ridiculously long torso - I blogged about this with instructions here. 

Flat drafted, fabric is rayon with rayon-silk shorts-length lining, lapped zipper at center back, and pockets big enough to hold all my secrets ;)

I took progress pictures and made this really cool jumpsuit (using a pattern book from the 50′s for reference) but since I’m living in a different country than my sister who usually takes finished product shots, and the weather has been uncooperative, It’s been done for WEEKS and I still don’t have ‘done’ pics.

Hiked two hours of coastline to a seal colony, and this nerd had the gal to SLEEP THROUGH THE WHOLE EVENT.

As my office's "Resident American", I now spend my days answering questions about the specific workings of the US political system. My greeting into work this morning was "Hi Kat, what's this shit with Donald Trump?" And yesterday, my boss signed an email off with "Looks like you might be staying in New Zealand permanently"

I spent today emailing my parents links for properties to buy in New Zealand. I’m already here. Trump probably thinks it’s part of Australia anyways...Plus, it’s cold in Canada.
