Raik and Sena’s conversation about the significance of the hat was everything that I wanted and so much more. With one brilliant stroke of a pen, the writers gave them a very deep and very human connection that transcended their prior relationship as a lawyer / client or a superstar / fan. I couldn’t help but see the parallels between Sena’s experience after her father died and Raik’s experiences after his best friend was murdered:
Sena: “And just like that, I was alone in the house. I suddenly felt alone in the world.”
Interesting that the camera shifted to Raik when Sena echoed feelings that so closely mirrored his. I am remembering the times when he avoided going home, ended up in the streets, or curled up in the lobby of the police station. Not even a few days before he stood outside looking up at his empty house after Jae-hee was in the hospital before wandering to Sena’s house in the rain. He had told her the next morning, “I had nowhere else to go. I didn’t know where I was supposed to be. So I just walked and ended up here.” ❤️🩹
Sena: “Do you know how happy I was when you first debuted? I was happier than when I passed the bar exam. I liked you that much.” OH MY G- his double-take!
And then she was like oh shit I said that out loud 😳
BUT SHE DIDN’T TAKE IT BACK or try to downplay it or dismiss it!!! AND THEN HE WAS LIKE
So basically all logical thought disappeared from my brain by this point so
THE YEARNING! Her not pulling away from him! The chemistry!!! The romance is romancing!!
Serious question, guys- how are any of you still functioning after that scene? I sure as hell am not.
