Top 6 Myths About Success
1. It happens overnight - it takes 10 years to become an overnight success. The truth about success is that it requires dedication & consistency - there’s no such thing as an overnight success, people use this as phrase to downplay the success of others.
2. It’s all luck - the harder you work, the luckier you get. Those who aren’t willing to put in the work or sacrifice some of their comforts will discount the success of others and say “they just got lucky”. They do this because excuses sound best to those who are making them.
3. You have to be related to someone successful - a poor excuse. Success is not passed down from family members, indeed - money can be - but an individual’s own success is created by them and no one else.
4. It might not work out - persistence is key. Many give up on their journey to success because they think it’s not “working out” for them - this is because it can be discouraging to run into obstacles. If one way doesn’t work out there are always other options to try - this is why being persistent is key.
5. You have to be “realistic” - this imposes limitations on what we can achieve. Being “realistic” is another way of imposing limitations on what we aspire to achieve, if someone says “be realistic, you can’t be the best” this is a reflection of what they think they can achieve. Shoot for the moon, even if you miss - you’ll land among the stars.
6. If you fail, stop - there is no failure, you either win or you learn. A lot of people give up on their dreams because they run into a single failure and interpret that as a sign to stop. Failures are an essential part of the journey, it’s important to keep in mind that each failure holds a valuable lesson we can carry forward to help create success in the future.
Your success is determined by YOU, no one else.
Peace & positive vibes.
