i'm a little disappointed that we never saw snape teaching sixth and seventh years in potions.

snape's teaching style very much requires him to teach younger kids but you can tell he really doesn't have the patience for it. he prefers working with a level of skill and talent that, unless a student is like himself, most younger students don't have, hence why he can't just teach older students.

but teaching a group of students who are in his class because they choose to be, because they have the skill and talent to be there, and probably have the same deep respect for cauldron work? that would have been a snape in his element.

because at that point, i think snape would view it less as 'teaching a class of ignorant kids' and more 'sharing my methods with likeminded individuals', you know?

Everyone: Snape would see himself and Lily - together in the mirror of Erised. Me and only me: No. I think he would either see Lily alive and happy (even if it was with JP) or (and I prefer this one) himself, with his left arm unmarked.

I would probably go with his arm unmarked, as that would instantly make the first one true. That, and J K Rowling said if he could live his life again he wouldn't have joined the DE.
