somebody saying "hey i don't like that the only gay man in this story is a weird pervert and it portrays gay sexual promiscuity as a moral failing and character flaw" cannot be rebuked by arguing about how the character's backstory or personality traits explain their behaviour. the choices made by a writer are all fundamentally mutable; somebody saying an author's choices should have been different is not going to be persuaded by an argument that takes those choices as immovable fact

Is this some weird cosmic joke that both House of the Dragon and The Vampire Lestat are running at the same time and both shows’ Reddits are incapable of not whining when characters already established not to be morally good are not being morally good?

How have people been watching either show for three seasons and not realized that the royalty raised to believe they have a divine right to own living nuclear weapons and/or literal blood sucking monsters are selfish, self-absorbed, manipulative, terrible people with a tendency to be extremely dramatic and blame everyone else for their own bad decisions?
