General Angler. Queen of the Octarians. An elegant ruler with a fierce determination.

My completed piece for a zine that was hosted on Twitter. I’m very happy to have been chosen as a participant. As such, I illustrated my lovely Octoling Oc Angler for the occasion. Been forever since I’ve used pencil crayons as well, so it was a nice chance to get back into using them after using markers for so long. I miss my pencils so it’s good to be back.

The conventions I were suppose to attend this year thankfully got cancelled. After a 3 month break I decided to sit down to start finishing up the cosplays I had planned to do this year and get them done before next year (and also so I can move onto working something else haha).

The Eminence Jacket I teased months ago for my N-Pacer cosplay is now finally complete. The jacket really pushed me out of my comfort zone and allowed me to try some new techniques, including first time using iron-on heat vinyl for the emblems. All I have left to finish for this cosplay is the headpiece, which will be done at a later date as soon as I can get the fabric needed.

In the meantime, I will work on finishing Metry up in her entirety. Her cardigan is the very last item I need to finish sewing and the clothes portion for her will be done. Her Splash-O-Matic will likely take longer to complete as the materials I need for it’s completion are at places which have not reopened yet.

Entry 49

The “Booyah Bomb” is a powerful technique that draws power from teammates to unleash a devastating attack; but where does this power come from? Scientists have been confounded since it was discovered as to how it works; how does it turn a teammate’s shout into ink?  Today, I believe I have found the answer. The booyah bomb draws upon the spirit of camaraderie between teammates, and resonates with their very soul; the same one that generates a new body once splatted. By booyah-ing, an Inkling resonates their soul with the bomb, lending some of their energy over some metaphysical link. A small amount, nothing harmful, although repeated contribution to booyah bombs can lead to fatigue or exhaustion over the course of several matches. However, there is a means by which the booyah bomb’s seeming “limit” can be surpassed. It seems that a booyah bomb becoming fully “charged” is a limitation imposed to protect the user, and with focus and willpower, one can continue to feed the bomb with their own life energy. However, past the “fully charged” state, the booyah bomb becomes unstable and will begin to involuntarily draw from the user’s essence to stabilize itself. This increases its power, but at great risk to its user and, if not properly handled, all nearby inklings as the bomb presumably detonates once its user has been drained of their life and can no longer contain it. No tests have reached that point, as the bomb has been released long before the death of its user; though one tester did lose consciousness shortly after due to fatigue induced by the bomb. For this reason, I dub this dangerous technique the “Soulforce Booyah Bomb”. -Dr. Simbab

I missed drawing these two boogers together so much. I really need to get off my butt and sketch more cute interactions between them. Heck, I need to get around to making full colored images of them interacting, or at least more colored images of each one.

When my sis from out west was visiting for a few she accidentally introduced me to Frixion pens. Now I’m absolutely hooked! I’ll still sketch with pencils, however the Frixions give me a nice alternative to play around with, not to mention a nice change.

I only own a green and pink pen, so naturally gotta draw the Yellow Green team and a few of the Cardigans.
