one minute i'm having a totally normal day just looking for something funny to watch and the next i'm obsessed with a y2k finance bro with a heart of gold a flower child on acid a lenape storyteller from pre colonial times a viking with abandonment issues a repressed rich white lady from the guilded age with a cocaine addiction a closeted military officer from the georgian era a prohibition era jazz singer a boy scout from the 80s and i repeat a y2k fucking finance bro wtf cbs ghosts what is this sorcery
Ngl im starting to think Jay Arondekar is the perfect man. He cooks. He plays DND. He's besties even with people he can't see. Has the patience of a saint. Loves his mom. Supports his wife seeing the paranormal and engages in tomfoolery on the regular. I see no flaws.
Do not let them erase this. Do not let them tell you he meant "my heart goes out for you."
This man is the grandson of a Canadian Nazi sympathizer who moved to South Africa BECAUSE he thought the apartheid was just the coolest.
He has a gaggle of kids specifically because he believes his genes are superior and need to be spread to improve humanity.
He has thrown his support behind the neonazi party in Germany and the far right party in the UK, not to mention how far he's wormed up the ass of the Republican party.
He threw two sieg heil salutes back to back at the inauguration of the president of the United States and is trying to scrub the evidence off the internet.
Elon Reeve Musk is a fucking Nazi.

Hey so
the last time I reblogged this post right before I got a great job, in a permanent work-from-home position, with benefits, retirement, and a salary literally 3x what I was making before, doing something I really like.
So you know.
This might be the real one, y’all.
The Three Worst Changes in The Little Mermaid 2023 Part 1
So while there’s a lot I like in The Little Mermaid there’s a few things I really really do not. Let’s start with the first. 1. The puritanical lack of physicality or desire between Ariel and Eric, especially on Ariel’s side. While Halle and Jonah have a sweet romantic chemistry, it is played very very chaste, especially compared to the 89 film. A lot of moments that indicate their romantic and sexual attraction to each other (as opposed to general admiration or friendship) are altered or cut altogether. This kind of implies that our young adult couple, especially the female side, expressing those things directly (in a G/PG fashion) is inappropriate or would be a weakness of character somehow. Which…is not exactly a progressive message to send. Again, Jonah and Halle sell what they are given extremely well, but the script and Rob Marshall’s direction are actively fighting them at every turn.
Examples and further thoughts below cut because long post is long. If you make it to the end and for some reason want to hear more of my deeply conflicted thoughts on this movie, let me know.

What the Hell; we never got Parts 2 and 3.
I’m just gonna guess it was the both-sides prejudice plotline and the climax.
No you did not. Sorry! Real life got in the way.
Super quick version 2. Literally all the changes to the deal with Ursula/"Poor Unfortunate Souls" scene but most especially the Stupid Fucking Amnesia Subplot of My Discontent which makes no goddamn sense and takes away Ariel's free will and agency for the entire second act of the movie. 3. Almost everything about the final battle but especially Ariel defying physics and good writing to kill Ursula in a way that should be physically impossible and makes no sense for her character and Eric being completely fucking useless. The both sides prejudice in concept is...okayish. The execution is laughably bad, in particular the completely lack of resolution on the human side. We never see the sailors or the Queen change their minds on-screen and frankly I'm of the mind that the movie ends just before Ariel and Eric are about to get "Red Wedding"-ed but on a boat.
(Also the "a lot I like" over time has mostly trickled away to "Halle and Jonah's performances, along with the actor for Grimsby's, and that 'Wild Uncharted Waters' exists." Melissa McCarthy was trying her best but Rob and the script gave her nothing to work with. Javier Bardem's performance ping-pongs between stoned AF and super creepy in a "somebody call underwater CPS" way, and Eric's mother's actress was capable but the script and blocking make the character seem like a borderline sociopath.)
HOUSE OF THE DRAGON SEASON TWO Episode 1: A Son for A Son
Still Team Triton Should Have Stayed Dead. Don’t tease me like that.
GOD YES. They didn't even bother to explain it.
Healthy relationships are clearly better in real-life but fucked-up ones are way more dramatically interesting in fiction. In much the same way–indeed, in exactly the same way–that feudal monarchy is a hell of a lot of fun in fantasy and historical fiction novels, but complete shit to actually live under.
Oddly specific. Got a deposit for 6,837 today
fuck it, i never ever do those “reblog for X, this one really works!” posts, but this one doesn’t have any of that BS, this is just straight up wishing us good things; and then the comment doesn’t even say any of that either. Zero claims on this post, all positive vibes

"I'd find you and I'd choose you." The Little Mermaid (2023) The Little Mermaid (1989) Once Upon A Time (2011 - 2018) The Little Mermaid Live! (2019) (requested by @friend2owlsandtitans)
This has been a PSA.
I’m trying not to reblog posts on this blog but I feel that this is important to post here.
on a related note:
And for the people asking “Well if you don’t support it irl then why would you like it in fiction?!” Because when it’s happening irl real people are suffering and dying and that’s horrible and I’d never want that. But when it’s fiction, when no real people are being hurt or killed, it’s interesting to explore the experience, the effects it may have, and to an extent experience the emotions involved without actually having to experience the horrible thing. You explore scary, dangerous things from a safe distance.
Application to collect part of Meta's $725 million settlement is simple, requiring only a few minutes to fill out.
[ID: a link preview of a stock image coffee table with a laptop with the facebook logo on the screen with text on top that says 'anyone who used facebook in the last 16 years can now get settlement money. here's how." end ID]
Time Sensitive- Apply before August 25th, 2023 (8/25/23)!
Filing a claim takes less than ten minutes, and can be done HERE
Excerpt from article:
Anyone in the U.S. who used Facebook in the last 16 years can now collect a piece of a $725 million settlement by parent company Meta tied to privacy violations — as long as they fill out a claim on a website set up to pay out money to the social network's users.
The settlement stems from multiple lawsuits that were brought against Facebook by users who claimed that the company improperly shared their data with third-party sources such as advertisers and data brokers. The litigation began after Facebook was embroiled in a privacy scandal in 2018 with Cambridge Analytica, which scraped user data from the site as part of an effort to profile voters.
Meta denied any liability or wrongdoing under the settlement, according to the recently created class-action website. However, the agreement means that U.S. residents who used Facebook between May 24, 2007, and December 22, 2022, can file a monetary claim as long as they do so before August 25, 2023.
Please reblog to signal boost this! As many people as possible should know about this to make their claim, if you don't do anything you don't get anything. It takes less than ten minutes to file and pick your payment option including pay/pal and ven/mo .
