A young samurai sell his sword as a last resource to save his wife and baby who are both sick. He is forced to commit harakiri with a sword made of bamboo, making him suffer a lot as the sword is not sharp enough. After his suicide and the passing away from both of baby and wife, the father-in-law goes out for revenge.

Zodiac is based on a real story about a serial killer known as Zodiac who killed around the Bay Area in San Francisco in the late 60s and early 70s. After each execution he sent the newspapers a letter with ciphers, details about his deeds or murder proofs . The case has never been solved.
