This photo seems to be from the below blog post by someone who went in 2023. The Shōhōji Temple Fire Festival in Aomori Prefecture(照法寺の火祭り if you want a search keyword) A purification ceremony using smoke and fire, where they pray for peace and an end to illness ( only about 50 years old according this article?)

The author of the blog took the chance to have their smartphone ritually purified, so notes that their sentences for the post are especially wonderful as a result.

(FWIW the Tohoku/north-east Japan region has some pretty great festivals and ceremonies, including similar fire-focused purification rituals like 裸参り/hadaka mairi where you walk almost naked to the temple in the snow and your neighbors spray you with hoses to increase your purifying suffering)

This specific festival happens in summer, second Sunday of June, and the Shōhōji Temple is only about 200 metres uphill from Tsugaru-Shinjō Station.

daryl romance is a difficult thing for me to parse my ideas about......to me daryl comes off as kind of aroace.......even the canon interest in flora seems more like a joke played off by the writers to make him seem like a bit of a creep first-impression infatuation with the idea of liking her...To Me.....i think i could easily swing a daryl/gustafa fic rn based off of what little i've written for a different project and maybe i SHOULD write that first before writing the polyamory fic.....much to contemplate

hmm. worried my gustafa/daryl/farmer fic will read akin to or exactly like my gustafa/nami/farmer fic. because what can i say, i really like when people make out in a desperate explosion of negative emotions after days or weeks of building towards that climax. perhaps i could delineate some real difference between the two fics by writing this one entirely from daryl's pov.....everything i have so far is his pov, shouldn't be too hard....

In case anyone hasn't heard, the cyclospora outbreak affecting tons of people in the US right now is coming from Taylor Farms produce. Best to stay away from bagged lettuce and prepared salads completely right now, but especially the ones mentioned in the screenshot:

Taylor Farms Earthbound Farms Little Salad Bar (Aldi) Marketside (Walmart) Kroger House Brand Target private label greens Costco salads and greens etc Trader Joe's chopped salad kits and fresh produce Fast food: McDonalds, Taco Bell, (Yum! Brands), Chipotle, Subway, Pizza Hut, KFC, Olive Garden, Top Golf, Red Lobster, Burger King, etc.

This is not the first time I've heard about a Taylor Farms foodborne illness outbreak. I stopped eating their salads after reading a description of the conditions in their facilities. Doesn't sound like they've improved anything.

We need a fully funded and staffed FDA, and regulations with teeth - and that's exactly what we don't have under Trump. To make things worse, the CDC is no longer tracking these outbreaks. We're on our own.
