The true lumberjacks (beasts) of the forest
---------------------------
A lonesome cabin outside the edge of town stood before the vampire. Owen slowly trekked up the stairs with a smile on his face. It wasn't a genuine one. A false smile to trick the lonely elder man inside.
He hissed at the silver placed by the entrance of the building. Right. He needs to be careful.
He knocks on the door with a fake smile. He tilts his head to the side while waiting for the other to answer. He didn't have to wait long since the door opened to the tall, muscled man. "Evening Ren."
Ren looks down at him slightly with a nod of his head. "Good evening, Owen. Please come in." He steps out of the way while holding the door open. Owen slowly enters the home with his eyes scanning the room. "A lovely place you've built up."
Ren closed the door with a prideful smile. "I greatly appreciate the compliment, Owen." He walks across the room to head into a makeshift kitchen. "What may bring ye here, lad?"
Owen sat down on a hand crafted chair. The wood was shaven down and buffed with such clean precision. The carving on the back of the chair showed a wolf's face. So intricate and beautiful. "I heard a few things about you, Mr. Dogmourne." He spoke with his gaze back on Ren.
He hadn't really heard things, but rather he is assuming something about him.
"Do tell what the townsfolk say." Ren approached the table with two cups of tea in his hands. He places one in front of Owen before sitting down himself.
"You're a creature of the night, aren't you?" Owen crossed his arms over his chest while staring at him. Ren's expression never changed, but his eye twitched. He simply lifts his tea to drink out of it. Similar to how Scott avoids a question by simply drinking out of his wine glass. Except, Ren's true features show before the lumberjack. Long pointy, fluffy ears take place from where his human ears were. His snout narrows out with his canines growing longer. A tail grows from his tail bone, slowly swishing behind him.
Owen's eyes widened in shock as this wasn't what he assumed. He thought Ren was a fellow vampire. Should've known that he didn't have that pull to Ren that he has with Scott and the others.
Ren lowers his cup to the plate with a hum. "It seems ye didn't expect this, did ye lad?" His ocean blue eyes were silvery blue when he lifted his gaze onto Owen. That once gentle look had hardened to one of a predator.
Owen stares into his gaze with a scoff. "I didn't think werewolves were real.." He leans back against the chair.
"Aye. I didn't expect a vampire to willing walk into a wolf's den either." Ren reached for his cup to continue drinking his tea.
Owen tensed up with his eyes on Ren. "Wh- How did you?"
"Yer smell, lad. Ye reek of blood and pain.." Ren lowers the cup before getting up. He walks closer to him, semicircling the vampire. "Years of sorrow, soil, and sleep. I can smell it off of ye."
Owen watched him as he bares his fangs at him. "A good nose you have.."
Ren laughs before shaking his head. His hand reached up to take his glasses off his face. He starts cleaning the lenses with his shirt. "I do not like ye vampires, but it's been so long since I've actually had company like ye."
Owen hums with his eyes on the abandoned cup of tea. It was then that he noticed there was blood in the tea. "Never met a wolf before.."
Ren heads back to his chair to sit down. His features shift back to make him look human. "A nice talk should do us good then, lad."
Owen finally lifts the cup to take a sip. The sweet taste of metal hit his tongue. He lowers the cup with his eyes on Ren. "Fine.."
