This whole scene is so mind-blowing that I missed the obvious shape of Laios' speech bubbles here. At first I thought it was a cheerful roundness laughing at the absurdity of what he's saying, but looking closer; it's wobbly. It's fake cheeriness, passive aggressive even. He just heard he was lied to for reasons he doesn't understand, and now this man is trying to sell an even more outrageous, sweeter lie?? Laios is SO hurt, and while he wasn't understanding what Kabru was saying, he was trying to be patient. Now he's not even trying to hide it.
So it's on Kabru to double down and convince he means it, which he does by /punching/ him and screaming "actually I DO want to be your friend, dumbass!!! I've been looking from afar and think you're interesting, you idiot!!! There’s things I find weird about you but that just made me invested enough to even eat harpy eggs!!!!!" and I just have to cry. I HAVE to
the phrase ‘this is my first time being alive’ has done wonders for me recently. Yeah, I don’t know how to navigate this situation! It’s brand new to me and I’m learning on the fly, aren’t humans such wonderfully adaptive creatures?
The letdown of learning another language is that it doesn't matter how fluent you get, you'll never fully appreciate why certain combinations of phonemes sound inherently ridiculous to native speakers, because that part is almost 100% deep-rooted cultural context. Like, I'm reliably informed by folks I know who grew up speaking Japanese that many popular anime characters have names that sound just as absurd to native Japanese speakers as most anime characters with "American" names sound to Anglophones, and I have to take their word for it because there's no way for me to ever really get it.
Sometimes it’s easy, though, such as when they name all their characters after cars (e.g. Magic Knight Rayearth) but you don’t catch on until they start using American car names, like Geo Metro here:
"don't speak ill of the dead!" don't be a piece of shit when you're alive then

I looted this dragon's hoard, but the dragon was an idiot: it's nothing but pyrite and cubic zirconia. What can I get for 3,000 pounds of this?
Well, here's the thing: cubic zirconia might not be worth as much as diamonds, but tinted ones are still worth up to about $5-10 per carat and colorless can get as high as $100 per carat. One pound is about 2,270 carats, so 3,000 pounds of cubic zirconia would be 6,810,000 carats, which could be worth anywhere from $34,050,000 to $681,000,000. Or you could just play Real Life Bejeweled.
Pyrite is a lot less valuable, let's use an even average of $0.50 per carat, so hopefully the balance of it was cubic zirconia.
The point of taking your indoor cat on little excursions isn't for exercise or enrichment, though those are fun bonuses. The point is making sure your cat knows what "home" looks and smells like from the outside. A big reason a lot of indoor cats who sneak out promptly get lost is because they don't know what the outside of their home looks like and consequently can't find their way back; you can greatly reduce the odds of that if you give them an occasional tour.
