FrameTale: UNDYNE
*Undyne is filled with JUSTICE.
*You are filled with DETERMINATION.
I awoke with a start. Chara had her face right in front of mine, an impatient look on it.
“Get up.”
I dragged myself to my feet. There wasn’t a place for me to sleep in Waterfall, so I slept on the ground instead. Ow. I stretched, feeling my spine pop. Then I could feel the rush of power flooding through my veins. I looked at Chara, who was tapping her foot in the air.
“Undyne, right?”
She nodded. “Put on your gear and let’s go.”
I walked to where I had stashed the tutu and slippers. I frowned. The slippers were fine, but the tutu would get in my way. But I put them on anyway, since Chara insisted that I needed them for defense. I could already feel the speed and agility I would need for this fight.
I walked on, waiting for Undyne to appear. I stopped at a bridge, hearing footsteps behind me. I whirled around; to my dismay, it was the idiot monster child. I glared. He started stammering about Undyne telling him to stay away from me, but I was done with this kid. I lashed out with a roundhouse kick. But instead of hitting Monster Kid, Undyne had stepped in front of him, taking the full strike.
“Get out of here, kid.” She hissed calmly to the child. He ran off. She looked back at me. “You.” She gasped. I, with one hit, had killed her.
“Weak. Weakest of all the guards.” I snapped, grinning. I reached forward, reaching for her DETERMINATION. But there was nothing there.
“Ha….ha...human. You think….that I’ll just let….you take my DETERMINATION….? No….and now...I can hear them. Everyone.” She stood up from where she had collapsed. “They are all cheering for me. And I know I can’t lose. So human.” She pointed a finger at me. “I UNDYNE will strike you down!”
There was a flash of light, and there was Undyne, her crystal armour shimmering in the dim light. The eyepatch over her eye had disappeared, and a strange light flickered in the socket. Her long hair flew behind her, entwined with different colored crystal shards. She launched at me, brandishing a long spear. I dodged nimbly, landing a kick on her side. She landed on her feet, then summoned a huge amount of spears. Oh my.
I looked down. My soul was bright green. A spear formed in my hands, a spear to block. I tried as best I could to block the spears, but I was still hurt. Badly. I snarled, wiping more DT from my eye. I needed a good melee weapon. Concentrating, I formed the power into a long sword. I smiled. This would be fine.
I leapt at Undyne, swinging the sword in a wide arc. She sidestepped, then swung her spear, slamming it into my chest. I flew back, hitting a rock. I staggered to my feet, shaking the pain away. I pulled a Crab Apple out of my pocket and took a bite. Sour. But healing, nonetheless. I felt more powerful, stronger. I raced towards Undyne, my sword flashing in the light. I slashed, and landed a solid hit. But still, Undyne continued to fight on.
“Ha! With my DETERMINATION, you can’t kill me.” She took a moment to heal, then charged. I dodged. Chara startled me, taking my attention away from the battle.
“You have to land a hit so strong, she doesn’t have time to heal. Your sword should be good enough.”
I looked away for a moment, but that was all Undyne needed. When I turned back, there was not enough time to move out of the way. Undyne drove her spear right into my abdomen.
I doubled over. The pain was so bad, it almost was as bad as the DT Beam. SHe pulled the spear back out and laughed. “Haha! You are weak, human! Undyne always wins!”
Those words enraged me. I stood straight, clutching my bleeding gut. I coughed, blood dripping from my mouth. I lifted my sword and pointed it at her, stating a challenge. She stuttered.
“H-how are you still alive?!”
I smiled. While she was still standing there, confused, I moved with lightning speed. I watched her eye widen with surprise as I stabbed straight through her. She collapsed to her knees, shock edged in every line of her face. I absorbed her DETERMINATION, keeping my sword held firmly under her chin. Her immense amount of DETERMINATION made my soul feel heavy, but power laced across my every bone. I knew I didn’t need to use my powers. Her defeat was mind-breaking enough. I didn’t even let her speak before I stabbed through her neck. She melted along with my sword.
Then the pain came. I clutched my abdomen. Blood spilled out of the wound. My vision started to blur. I staggered away, then fell after a few feet. I could see the bright light of a Save Point. I reached out, calling for help…
*But nobody came.
*Welcome to Hotland.
