I feel like this reminder shouldn't need to be given in a hobbyist space, but apparently it does based on comments I've received/discussions within various fandom communities.
While some people are here for clout, the vast, vast majority of fanfic writers write for ourselves, and then we post our work online in case anyone in the community might like it. But we wrote it for ourselves.
I have had some very kind readers over the years, and I am immensely appreciative of their lovely comments. But I did not write any of my fics for them.
This means that no, I did not take your learning disabilities/vocabulary/personal preferences/ADHD into account. Firstly because I cannot possibly know any of those things about strangers. But secondly, and most importantly, because I did not write it for you. I catered to my reading level, and my personal tastes. Because it is for me. The act of publishing it online is simply me going, 'Hey, since you're into some of the same things as me, maybe you'll like this.' I don't care about your preferences or reading level. It's your job to seek out reading material that is a match for you, personally. Writers are not your mommy. If you spit out your peas, we're not going to go, 'Ok, well what about blueberry? Apple sauce? Carrots? What do you want to eat??' Frankly, I don't give a fuck. It's literally not my job to.
So this year is going to be a little different because it's gonna be 10 days instead of seven.
Still calling it a week though!
Theme Submissions July 19-29
This year each day will have two themes one of those being a general theme (fantasy, enemies to lovers, vampires, etc. Typical themes) would the other will more of a aesthetic theme (pomegranate, blood, red/pink, candy, etc. Very broad and more visual). Feel free to submit both types of themes
There will technically be no free day this year, however if you want to make somwthing that doesnt fit with any of the themes still feel free to post and late post will always be reblogged!
Theme Voting July 31-August 8
The poll will have two questions to vote. Pick ten themes for general themes and for aesthetic themes. Additionally there will be an interest check for another thing!

“What’s taking all of you so long?” Agott calls as she approaches the group of apprentices gathered outside the atelier. They were supposed to head back almost an entire clock mark ago, but here they are instead.
Clearly, they aren’t doing anything productive either. Their palm quires and pens have been set aside—though not carelessly, Agott notes. She suspects it was Coco who ensured that they were stacked neatly on a rock, preventing any of them from stepping onto their materials by accident.
Within the hands of Coco, Tetia, and Richeh, are a bunch of petals.
“Agott!” Tetia greets, waving wildly for her to come closer. With a bit of reluctance, Agott takes a step forward. “We’re making flower crowns!”
Again? They already did that yesterday. She can see why spring is the optimal time for such activities, but still, there are more important things to do. Like returning to the atelier for dinner.
“That’s enough,” she sighs. “I’m heading back inside—”
“Wait, Agott!”
It was Coco who called her, and who is running up to her now, a bright smile on her face. Agott feels like there are sun rays beaming down on her, warming her cheeks when Coco lifts her hands and drops a flower crown onto her head. It’s very lightweight, and Agott cannot see herself, but she can imagine the stark contrast of the pink petals against her dark curls.
“There,” Coco says with a gleeful grin. “You look so pretty!”
It feels like the sun has gotten even warmer, somehow.

separation + dabi & fuyumi
In the beginning, their separation felt like an unstoppable force, as fierce as a raging tidal wave and the roaring blue flames that engulfed Sekoto Peak. Fuyumi’s hands were too small and weak to do anything back then, and she was upset, but she blamed Touya more than anything—why did he choose to run? Why couldn’t he have stayed and suffered alongside the rest of them?
Time passed anyway, and whenever Fuyumi walked past Touya’s altar, she would force the ugly emotions down her throat until she felt like she was choking on it. No one asked her to, but she tried to reason with herself anyway. She extended sympathy to Touya’s decision and even attempted to convince Natsuo that their brother did what he had to do.
Now, at almost two decades older, Fuyumi realises that nothing has changed at all.
Still, Touya leaves. Still, he gets to be the one to say goodbye.
It’s odd to grieve for someone who is already dead. Those were the last words Touya spoke to her before his vocal cords gave out entirely—Don’t mourn a dead man, ‘Yumi.
In return, she thinks: How many times can she watch him die before it numbs the pain inside of her?
She tried to receive the advice with poise, but at the end of the day, she’s still the same childish girl with the same bitter resentment hidden deep in her heart, wondering why she never got to have an older brother.
