Anyway, onto answering your ask:
Before anything, I wanna ask, what's your general picture of the story? How long do you visualize it to be? What's the main theme? Or.. I'm just gonna take a wild guess and say you thought of an interesting au setting and wrote it on a whim and now you have no clue how else to progress the plot-
I haven't actually read post-Beast au fics before so I have no clue how other writers handle and clean up all the fragments and plot holes the canon au left, but I'd assume what they'd go for is: go through chuuya's stages of grief and sskk's development as they find new purposes in their lives, if you get what i mean. Chuuya's the new boss of the mafia, atsushi quits the mafia(?) all that sort of resolution cleaning.
HOWEVER, in here, Dazai's alive and thus we now have a wonderful assortment of problems, dilemmas and catastrophes on our plates. Now 3 people know the whole multiverse thing, meaning: either atsushi, dazai, or akutagawa must die or the universe collapses. The biggest problem? atsushi and akutagawa absolutely cannot reveal this info to anyone.
I'm just gonna throw the whole submarine thing aside (sci fci is foriegn water to me sorry) and focus on the main who's-gonna-die dilemma. This will decide the whole course of the story.
Dazai dies on the hospital bed:
while it seems unclimactic at first, when the main problems gets resolves quickly, our bsd cast can now focus on escaping the submarine and unveiling the mystery of Verne's ability! Con is that THAT part will have to be the rest of the story so we don't get to dabble in the beast lore a lot. Solution: add backstories, more layers of lore! Why did Verne trap them in the submarine? Did it stem from deep rooted resentment perhaps? (oooh backstories) Or is this just a part of a bigger masterplan in world domination? idk go wild. Add the hunting dogs, add DOA, the whole GLOBE is now in chaos Who even IS Verne? Do the cast manage to banish him away for good or defeat him?
When I first read the fic, that was the direction I thought the story would take: full sci fci, probably some homo(given it's a bsd fic), but full sci fci
tbh idk why I added this section, obviously dazai would commit again lest the universe immediately collapse, BUUUUT if you were to go in this direction, add a twist where, some otherworldly force is acting upon us and dazai cannot die or whatever idk man my hands hurt from typing so much ahahragyr
they battle it out/one sacrifices themselves. From that point, just develop the story similar to the first option, but add existential survivor's guilt
