its easier to get married in france if one is planning on getting a spouse visa in england rather than getting a fiance visa and then marrying in england
you dont HAVE to post notice of a marriage in france if you can get a waiver (which fruk reasonably could given their level of fame, unless french city hall starts meddling)
fruk have, for the past century, been playing a very annoying game of making sure they are not overstaying their visas when visiting each other (90 days in a 180 day period in france, 180 days in a 365 day period in england, essentially means they can hypothetically spend every other month in either country)
after getting married they could apply for spouse visas to get out of this annoying tourist visa situation they've been in (seems easier to do in england than france but both are possible given that they are not stopped by the government)
to completely get out of the visa situation (so they dont have to constantly renew it) they could apply for dual citizenship, which would be difficult because francis would have to reside in england for 3 years straight (must not be outside of england for over 270 days in that period). it would be easier for arthur to become a dual french citizen as the only requirements are that theyve been married for 4 years and arthur passes an exam (no requirement about residence -- I THINK)
or they just never fool with visas and citizenship, and continue counting dates on their calendars to make sure they dont overstay (because they could be banned from visiting for up to three years if they do)
and thats all if the government doesnt lend them a hand during any of this, which they could, but i am undecided on if their respective leaders will give them trouble about this vs letting them do it.
ok so x2 easiest route for them to take: they should get married in france with that waiver if able, francis should get a british spouse visa, and after 4 years arthur should apply for dual french citizenship. at that point, they either A) convince the british government to give francis citizenship without 3 years of continuous residence (best case scenario), or B) convince the french government to let francis be their NP from abroad for 3 years (worst case scenario)
actual best case scenario is that everyone is super supportive and the wedding of the century happens and the president of france and king of england just Let Them Do Whatever They Want (not likely)
