If James had been avoiding Frankie before, well, it was nothing compared to how much he was avoiding him now. Especially since he had kissed Allie, since something was now going on between the two of them. He knew that at some point, it was a conversation he would have to have with Frankie. The last thing he wanted to do was not tell his best friend, for Frankie to hear it from someone that wasn’t James. While he was nervous to face him, he also wasn’t the kind of person to keep things from those he held close to his heart. And well, as luck would have it, James couldn’t keep avoiding him.
It happened as he walked right into Frankie on the sidewalk, literally. He had been so lost in his thoughts, that James had been paying little attention to where he was going. Instantly he jolted backwards, sucking in a deep breath. “Oh, sorry!” Was his instant reply, a smile on his face that he hoped wasn’t too forced as he looked at his friend. “I was, uh, just, you know- thinking about things is all. And I wasn’t paying attention apparently. You alright?”

Frankie was pretty sure he was handling the ‘rejection’ well, but he knew something must’ve been going on considering James hadn’t been answering his texts. He figured he should take a hint and stop trying. He’d just finished babysitting for Monroe when he decided to stop and grab a smoothie.
On his way out of the building, he felt someone knock into him. Frankie sighed, but stopped as he looked over and noticed it was James. He gave a tight-lipped smile, glancing down as the other spoke. “Yeah.. It happens, don’t worry about it.” He lifted his head so his gaze met James’ again, “I’m doin’ good.. Can’t complain, ya know.. What about you?”
