Its about the fact that no one has to come out as straight or say "I'm straight" to be assumed straight

but if you assume that woman making out with girls, or writing love songs about them, might like girls then you are a invasive creepy conspiracy theorist who just wants to fuck her and that makes you a creepy predatory dyke and you need to be ridiculed for even considering the possibility,

Daughter from Hell - another victim of a predatory industry or just another whiny 20-something nepo baby?

Disclaimer, I’m biased because I’ve just finished listening to this album all the way through for the second time and I love it. But before I even heard a single note of any of the songs that weren’t out before today, I saw the guardian review yesterday giving it a lukewarm at best reception for being melodramatic and juvenile, too many references to bloody knives, car crashes and death wrapped in soft melodies. And I kind of get it. But I also know the seeming contradiction is intentional.

It fits in the line up of Tortured Poets, Mayhem and Play- albums with dramatic and and pretty scathing reflections on a life in the public eye and one’s own image in the face of a public persona. And if you can’t see any of these songs as a part of a greater story then I would agree that it may look and sound like someone who seemingly has everything complaining a lot about it. But if you can see it in context and from the angle of a whole bunch of silenced queer theatre kids making art about the pain of living a life of inauthenticity in exchange for a successful career and the regret and self doubt that comes with that, I think this album is great (though quite dark at times).

Beautiful vocals, many of Aaron’s gorgeous melodies and yes, some lyrics are definitely dark and dramatic, but some are also beautifully innocent and tragic. And if sapphic had a sound, it would be Sober!

Can I hint at something three years in advance…?

One week away from the 4th July three years on from this post. The one that started it all. The one that made swifties swoon and say “what were the chances?”. None, of course, because every step since then has been meticulously planned and staged so that all the pieces fall into place exactly as they have and none of it was accidental because she’s a mastermind. She doesn’t need to knock on wood or wish on a star because they’ve made their own luck since day one so that everyone can get what they want. Including Taylor, who released the first Taylor’s Version of the Eras tour run that day, starting what was effectively the fundraiser for her Masters buy-back.

The last three years of the Taylor and Travis show; every little step planned in painful detail, from friendship bracelet to football games, on field and (very much not) backstage kisses, to Travis on stage in London - end of season 1. Another superbowl, more cringe wag appearances, Masters deal completed, an engagement and album announcement - end of season two. Followed by a year of full on showgirl in every medium and on every platform, capitalist Barbie masterclass. And now we’re here, with rumbles of some big event at MSG next weekend - this season’s big showdown. Is this actually it? Are the ‘girlies’ finally independent again three years after the original post?

Who knows, but I’d be ready for this show to get cancelled and get to the part where Taylor lights the place on fire and floors it through the fences headed for wild joy (because fuck’em it’s over) 🤞🏼.
