In an alternative reality, this would have been the design I went with for some of my characters

#yes shutterbug was actually gonna be lantern bug or lantern moth or sm #lady marmalade would finally get the pants he wants #he still has too many frills in his opinion but whatever #fun fact originally chaiali’s power would be to control light #making it lighter or darker or blinking in and out of existence #it would have been a relatively weak power and she would have mostly used martial art to fight monsters #she would be able to see colors in this reality though #which is nice #(fun fact this design is a mix of what chailai would have originally looked like and another character under the same magical mascot)#(chailai and the other girl would have both been moth themed. chailai really hated the other girl too and hated being her senior in heroing)#I really like the moth theme #unfortunately probably won’t enter the story #maybe as an Easter egg for myself tho lol #future comic #digital art #magical girls #magical girl #oc #artwork #magical boys #magical girl design

Luis and the aliens, hiding among humans au

#luis and the aliens #listen #this movie? not very well written and kinda didn't deserve it's ending much #BUT #THE POTENTIAL IT HAD #THE FIRST FEW MINUTES REALLY MADE ME THINK IT WAS GOING INTO ANOTHER DIRECTION #THAT IT WAS GONNA PORTRAY NEGLECTFUL PARENTS AND HOW IT AFFECTS THE KIDS #also Luis and the aliens had almost zero chemistry for the characters between each other #ESPECIALLY the aliens and Luis. which. kinda defeats the whole thing #BUT IT HAD POTENTIAL THO #and it's fun to rewatch too #it's just that the ending tried to solve all problems it gave in the first half but none of it felt deserved #and the aliens were really severely underwritten....#luis feels like a real kid who truly believes there is still a chance to fix his family #at least until that chance is broken very soon and continued to be hit with a sledge hammer with every other interaction with the dad #it's why I thought they will go in a different direction #I think the movie is too short yet somehow top long #probably because not much happens but enough does #idk man the characters and the plot they wrote for them seemed fun to explore I just wish more time was given for it?#or like more rewriting or sm #also something about Jennifer and the way she holds a grudge for the newspaper club is so very funny to me #like the way she talks is filled with realistic child hatred and I love her for that lol #luis is. odd.#the more I rewatch the movie the more I see that he really does encapsulate the experience of kids in an abusive household #the way he easily lies without batting an eye #the way he believes it will be better #the way he sets silent tests for his dad to pass to convince himself that it's ok (only for the dad to fail miserably)#the way he is very observant on adults and absolutely clocked out the alien lady's evilness #it was all so very amazing and well written for the type of life he leads?? but then they went no where with it and forgave the dad easily #idk man I just think it had a bigger potential. I might do something with it later idk. maybe write a fic lol (imagine that)

colored sketch for these two, my best worst duo, love dove and cupid

#I love these two so much #but especially love dove #probably because of how not very good she is as a person #she's not bad exactly. but kinda is. kinda grey for the most part #she's such a weird character to write for #but maybe that means I need to understand her more #she's the type of character who you will see and go “oh she's a popular mean girl or sm”#before you get to know her and go “oh hey she's actually really sweet and nice; maybe I did misjudge her-”#and then comes the “Oh. oh no...”#she has messed up so many things and the worse part is she didn't mean to do so #actually no. the worst part is she isn't willing to admit she did so. even if by mistake #she's something of a bully too sometimes..... cupid will have a field day once he find out #considering he was heavily bullied himself before....#she bullies herself the most tho. so like. a win is a win?#idk man the whole thing is messed up on so many fronts and she would rather eat her liver out rather than talk about her problems #or god forbid try to find a solution for it #cupid is kinda really unlucky now that I think about it....#he just wants to understand what love is but now he has to take care of an emotionally unstable teenager #while being an emotionally unstable teenager himself too #they both have to try to take care of each other. apparently that's very hard when you don't know how to take of yourself first #who knew #does this count as spoiler? idk I'll save this to draft rn #digital art #future comic #oc #artwork #love dove #cupid

Mud city (the name makes sense with the lore plz trust me)
