Happy Mishapocalypse anniversary
My favorite quotes from the stream (as I was able to jot them down as they were being said)
Donât cry because itâs over. Cry because it happened.
What is a graveyard if not humanityâs hall of fame?
Itâs like Iâm fondling the balls of life.
Choose to spend time on what fulfills you, on what makes you happy⊠Every second is a chance to turn your life around.
When I die, I want to be an empty shell, having given every part of myself to creating.
The worst part of this was when the boiling hor piss shot out onto my foot.
No, that was pain; this is sufferin. (technically from the pee sauna vid but they watched it during the stream it counts)
At the end of the day, you know: pizzaâs pizza, piss is piss.
We have experienced something that no human ever has, and thatâs incredible.
Weâre not just two grown men who drank each otherâs piss. Weâre two grown men who bathed in each otherâs piss.
How you respond to events that are out of your control defines you as a person.
Unus annus dot com: hey hey, wow wow.
I feel like a lot of people will feel lost tomorrow. And thatâs okay.
It had to be a piece of us that we put out there⊠and then let go.
A year is many things to many people. But it is not forever.
âMemento Moriâ has two meanings: remember death or remember that you will die, but also remember to live.
âHello, my name is Sharlene Pike and I am a black transgender person originating from South Africa and working as a receptionist/host. I moved to the United States 4 years ago alone and without any support, as my parents died in my home country when I was 18. Being a transgender black female immigrant places three discrimination barriers and makes it extremely hard to socialize and find a job to live properly. Nevertheless, I tried my best. I had been working at 7 different companies as a receptionist/host/waitress for these four years, but 2 months ago I lost my job. The reasoning I was given - âstaff reduction due to COVID-19 complicationsâ. I have been unemployed for these 2 months, but the reason I canât start a new job is not COVID-19. In February, I was diagnosed with stage-3 esophageal cancer. I had no prior knowledge of my diagnosis as this type of cancer can be quite concealed, and I had only two or three weeks of eating discomfort before I had a medical consultation. The company I was working at had a special program to support staff members who need expensive surgeries or therapies, and I believe my diagnosis was the true reason I was reduced, since it happened just after I told my office I might need an extended medical leave. The sum I have spent on the medical procedures only to clarify the future treatment equals my 3 salaries. The sum Iâm asking for is actually covering first 6 months of treatment and the cheapest drug - basically simply to have a chance to survive. I have no health insurance and I canât take a new job because my health condition significantly deteriorated. The thing that I have learnt throughout these months is that it is very hard to get any, even basic medical help if you are transgender. The death rate of the esophageal cancer is about 30%, which is very high, and I ask you to help me to have a chance to survive. I tried to deal with everything without anyone by my side, but current circumstances left me with no choice but to ask you to donate and share my story. Thank you very much.â

Unions are trash. Theyll Destroy a whole company for firing a shitty worker.
unions are the reason you arenât paid 2.50 an hour with steel beams about to bust ya head open shut up lol
Unions are why you have 5 day, 40 hour full-time work weeks. Unions are why they have to pay you in actual dollars instead of âcompany creditsâ that you can only spend at the company-owned stores. Unions are why there are fucking fire exits at your place of work. Unions are why itâs not okay for your supermarket ground beef to be any percentage human.
You think your company pays you out of the goodness of their hearts? Or even out of âmarket pressure?â The âjob marketâ is a myth perpetuated by the capitalists. Corporations would pay you nothing if they could get away with it. And you argue âoh, but if they paid me nothing Iâd just go to another one.â Wrong. Because to maximize profits, they all want to pay you nothing. Corporations exist to maximize profits while reducing risk for investors. Itâs part of their entire function to find ways to cut costs as much as possible, and that includes finding ways to pay you nothing.
Unions are your defense against that. You think all a union does is strike? If you pay union dues, a lot of that is spent on lobbyists in various governments reminding your lawmakers that you have rights as a living human being that a corporation should not be able to stomp all over. Unions hire lawyers so that if youâre fired for bullshit reasons, the union can stand up for you against your boss. Theyâre called unions because workers are uniting to pool resources so that they can stand up to these corporate overlords with more money than God. Unions exist because you might not have the words, resources, or time to fight workplace injustices all by yourself. Thatâs the whole fucking point.
And if a business shuts down because a union is striking, itâs because the business was abusing people and didnât deserve to be in business anyway. Donât make excuses for the corporations. They already have trillions of dollars and a couple million lawyers to do that for themselves. They donât need your help.
The erasure of labor history from US history curriculum has caused so much fucking damage to this country.Â
i canât talk shit about the pirates of the caribbean films as if elizabeth swann becoming pirate king didnât hand my entire ass to me and make me the gay i am today
these 2 looks basically defined my sexuality and iâm not afraid to admit it
things pirates of the caribbean got right:
1. will and elizabethâs love story
2. elizabeth becoming pirate king
3. avoiding sexualizing elizabeth or the other female pirate characters in the first 3 films by allowing them to wear period-accurate pirate outfits that arenât tailored to be revealing and impractical for âsex appealâ just because theyâre women
4. hans zimmerâs entire score but especially the iconic âheâs a pirateâ main theme
5. When the movie came out, morally-gray characters like Jack were actually not really a thing yet in pop culture, and itâs not Piratesâ fault that there are a ton of stupid shitty copycats out there.
6. I run a corseting panel at cons and literally use Elizabethâs lace-up scene as a video clip of what historical corseting was actually like, because the only thing they got wrong in this scene is that tightlacing wouldnât be a thing for about another 200 years (and you couldnât tightlace with the corset style Elizabeth is wearing anyway). Itâs one of the most accurate corseting scenes Iâve ever seen.
7. Willâs hat.
8. That scene with all the pirates on the gallows where that little boy starts singing Hoist the Colours? Yeah, thatâs fucking legendary. The rest of AWE was kind of a trash fire, but that scene gave me goosebumps.
9. Thereâs this great shot in the first one where they really drive home the class differences inherent in this time period by having the governor talking about progress and civilization to Elizabeth in their carriage, and then they cut to a shot outside the carriage where a beggar gets splashed by mud from the wheel. Itâs a perfect way to underline that everything is not, in fact, a nice little upper-class fairytale, and to give some weight to Willâs storyline, because he has a lot more in common with that beggar than with the governor.
10. For its time, the CGI was fucking amazing.
11. And letâs not forget the work of the makeup department, which had to actually invent new ways of putting on makeup for this movie.
12. The governorâs death scene. Holy shit.
13. They could have gone with a Jack/Will/Elizabeth love triangle, but they didnât. There are some hints Jack is in love (or at least in lust) with Elizabeth, but he recognizes that she loves Will, and thatâs that.
14. Youâve got to admit that wedding was unique.
15. The introduction of fantasy elements to historical fiction outside of Tolkein-esque fantasy, and how it contributed to and expanded the Fantasy Media boom weâre still enjoying today.
1. They had a woman of colour play a goddess.
2. They had a woman pirate right in the first film, when the tradition is to only show male ones (hell, the PotC ride at Disney had a wench auction scene until recently). And it was a female pirate of colour at that!
3. Elizabeth may not have known how to fight in the first film, but she wasnât helpless either. Her first instinct was to fight, but she also had the brains to recognize when it was best to hide instead. Plus when given the chance she stabbed Barbosa that one time.
4. Elizabethâs lack of fighting ability was not simply because she was a woman, it was clear it was due to her societal circumstances, since we saw other women of different socioeconomic backgrounds being able to fight (and when given the opportunity to learn Elizabeth took to fighting like a duck on water).
5. The Hoist the Colours scene where we see pirates of multiple ethnicities and their varying flags, reminding us that pirates came in all shapes and sizes and werenât just white men.
6. One of the Pirate Lords being yet ANOTHER woman of colour. She may not have had much of a speaking role if memory serves, but even her presence is already a big deal.
7. The pirates accepting their King is a woman without much fuss.
Pirates is amazing I will not here a bad word
Davy Jones CGI is legendary and a ton better than some of the stuff done today đ
Iâm pretty sure that female Chinese pirate was a nod to a real, documented female pirate king who was Chinese and had a whole fleet of ships at her disposal but I canât remember her name rn
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ching_Shih
My favorite part about the Bretheren Court voting wasnât that they were against Elizabeth for becoming King as a woman and newcomer. They were pissed at Jack for being a chaotic neutral who broke the decades long tradition of an egotistical stalemate by voting for someone besides himself.
Also, the deleted scenes from Black Pearl and At Worldâs End that divulge more of Jackâs troubled past, like how he was branded as a pirate by the East Indian Trading Company because he stole a ship full of slaves and freed them.

OMFG đđ
Sirius comes back covered in blood.
His whole body aches, sharp pains shooting through his side as he fumbles with the key and the lock. The night air is cool against his skin, the stars seeming so very bright as he cracks the front door open and slips in, locking it carefully behind him.
Heâs trying to be as quiet as possible but even he canât stop the small groan that escapes his mouth as he toes off his shoes, tries to remove his jacket and then thinks better of it. The kitchen is just down the hall and he head over, careful not to let any of the blood drop to the floor.
He finds a small dish towel, holds it under the faucet and turns it on, letting the water seep through his fingers and down the drain. It stings the cuts on his hands but he ignores it; heâs been through worse and right now heâs worried that he might have bled through his shirt.
With steady hands Sirius cuts the water off, almost collapsing at the kitchen table. Thereâs a plate of cold food lying there - leftover Indian it looks like, and Sirius digs in gratefully.
By the time heâs finished his food itâs almost 3 in the morning, the blood long since dried on his back. Sirius wants to close his eyes and fall asleep here, on the table but James and Lily thought he had come home 4 hours ago when his official shift ended. He grits his teeth, forcing himself to his feet and brings the dish over to the sink.
Heâs putting the cutlery away when the lights cut on suddenly. Sirius jumps, his hand automatically going to his wand at his side, even as his ribs screamed at the motion.
âSirius?â James blinks up at him blearily. His hair is messy as always, all over his face, in pajama pants and a ratty t-shirt. âWhat are you doing?â
âEating,â Sirius says. Oh shit.
James frowns, eyes taking in the dishes and the cutlery and the eaten take-out food. âYeah, we left some for you for after your shift. That was hours ago, though? Werenât you back at eleven? Shifts are only four hours.â
Sirius swallows, hard, mind desperately racing as he struggled to come up with an excuse. âI was...at Remusâ,â he says, keeping his voice as smooth as possible.
âSirius,â Jamesâ voice is gentle. âRemus wonât be back for another month or so.â
âI know.â Sirius closes his eyes against the sharp pain in his chest, the echoing reminder that Remus was gone. âI just...his stuff...â
âYouâre lying,â James says quietly. His eyes are steely, arms folded across his chest. âI can tell. You always play with your hair when you lie.â
Sirius freezes - his hands are in his hair, raking anxiously through the curls. Thereâs bits of dried blood tangled up the the strands and he frowns at the crimson caught underneath his fingernails.
Jamesâ eyes go right to it.
âShit,â Sirius says as Jamesâ eyes snap around the kitchen; the small streak of blood on the counter, on the glass, in Siriusâ hair and on his jacket and vivid red where he had missed a spot on his neck. His eyes finally settle on Siriusâ chest, right through the leather and the cotton as if he could see the gaping wound on his rib.
He can practically hear the betrayal in Jamesâ voice when he finally speaks. âYouâre taking my shifts again.â
Sirius doesnât bother to deny it. He slumps back against the table, stifling a groan at the pain in his ribs. James is at his side in an instant, arms wrapped firmly around Siriusâ shoulders as he eases him into a chair.
The gentleness of his grip contrasts with the burning anger in Jamesâ eyes. âI told you not to. Jesus fuck, Sirius, I told you not to!â
Sirius is too tired to muster up a response. He just sits there, his eyes half closed, pain shooting through his side as James slowly peels the leather from his skin.
âFuck,â James breathes, as Siriusâ shirt comes and cold air washes over his torso. âWhat the fuck was this?â
Sirius shurgs with a nonchalance he didnât feel. âDeath Eater. Some sort of hex, probably. I think itâs burned.â
âYou think?â James lets out a low laugh. âThe skinâs gone black around the edges, Sirius.â
âOh.â
James is pissed. Sirius can see it; the set of his shoulders, the burn of his eyes, the way his fingers clenched on the edge of the table as he picked up his wand. âI told you,â he grits out - Sirus winces at the cold press of wood against his wound. âIâm a part of the Order as well.â
âNever said you werenât,â Sirius grits out; the pain is getting worse now, Jamesâ wand a line of cold fire on his flesh.
âThen let me do my damn job.â Jamesâ face is grim. âHow did you even trick me like that - I got the shift schedule - â His eyes widened. âNo. You gave me the shift schedule. You changed the shift times.â
When Sirius doesnât reply James throws his hands up into the air. âBastard. You lied.â
If Sirius wasnât so tired he would have denied it, come up with another excuse. But heâs sleepy and exhausted and so, so cold, Jamesâ voice like metal against stone in his ear.
âCan it James,â he mutters; James looks like he was slapped. âJust - just shut up alright? Iâm fine - it doesnât matter anyways. Iâm replaceable.â
Jamesâ hands go white where he gripped onto the table, the bite of his fingers curling into the hard wood. âNo you fucking arenât. Sirius, what the hell are you doing? Youâre going to get yourself killed!â
âIâm fine!â
James shakes his head. âBullshit. Youâre hurt and exhausted and taking two shifts at once - â
âThree,â Sirius says softly.
James stares at him. âSay that one more fucking time.â
âIâm not going to let Lily out there am I?â
âYou,â James grits out, âAre an idiot. An absolute idiot. You have got to be fucking joking me.â
Sirius just lets his head fall back to rest against his chair, rubbing a weary hand over his face.
âAsshole,â James hisses, with soft venom that Sirius has never heard before. âYou bastard. How dare you - this is my fight too - â
âThereâs plenty of Death Eaters to go around,â Sirius mumbles; heâs staring up into the brightness of the ceiling lights, head pounding with every cutting word of Jamesâ.
âThatâs not the fucking point.â James slams his hand on the table; the echoing sound makes Sirius jump. âHow dare you. How dare you lie to me, right to my face. I told you - I told you to let me handle this and you went behind my fucking back.â
âYeah,â Sirius says, his temper flaring. âYeah, I did. And you know what? Iâd do it again? Iâd do it all again beside I am keeping you safe. I am making sure that Harry grows up with a father, and doesnât have a shitty childhood like I did!â
âThatâs not the fucking point!â James throws his arms out. He was more angry than Sirius has ever seen him, eyes blazing with rage. âJesus Sirius - you think Iâd want to be saved if it means youâd die?â
âYou think I would want to live knowing that I could have saved you?â
James shakes his head, a mocking smile twisting into his lips. âWhat does Remus think about this?â
The words are like a bucket of icy water to Siriusâ face. He doesnât realize heâs on his feet until he feels the blood flowing from his side and knows heâs bleeding again. âYou know what? We both agreed, actually, before he left. That Harry was our priority, and that if it came down to it, weâd sacrifice each other to save him.â
James looks like heâd been slapped, a mixture of gratitude and relief and sorrow dancing over his face. He swallowed, hard, eyes shining with unshed tears. âThank you,â he says hoarsely. âBut not me. Donât die for me. I donât want you to. Sirius - youâre my brother. You canât - â
âWhat would you rather have,â Sirius says softly. âMe? Or Harry and Lily, that perfect life you always dreamed of?â
James shakes his head, his face twisted. âDonât. Donât make me choose like that. I - I canât - â
Sirius just offers him a crooked smile. âDonât worry,â he says. âI chose for you.â

HI DONâT LEAVE THIS IN THE NOTES THATâS ACTUALLY BRILLIANT
Ron and Harry brotp headcanons please
brothers before anything else. so like brothers they fight, they get jealous of each other and donât know how to communicate properly.
they do love each other to death though, no offense to hermione obviously but like, if hermione ever broke ronaldâs heart, she knows harry would never talk to her again.
harry has thanked hagrid on several occasions after he became a full-fledged adult for not telling him where the Platform 9 Ÿ. there was two wondrous moments in his life: 1. obviously evading death twice and 2. running into weasleys on his first year. (alright three hermione, i am giving a speech at your wedding. must you correct me at this very second? and yes fourth was you walking in the car. can i please, please continue?)
when no one knows where to find harry after the war, itâs always ron who manages to find him. he says itâs now a special power after he found them in the forest that day and manages to get a laugh out of harry every time. itâs the same the other way around. when ron needs to take a break from the burrow, harry is the one who brings him back. they always bring each other back whether itâs during a war or itâs during a tournament no one wanted to be a part of. they always bring each other back.
they both know ron leaving them at the forest left a mark on both of them but they also know no one else would have been able to get harry out of the water when ron came back because only he would have dared jump in that water after harry. no one else is that batshit crazy or as hermione puts it âno one loves harry the way ron doesâ, ginny nods in approval. âhe is your wheezy after all,â she says with a smirk. dobbyâs memory looms over them for a minute before they all laugh.
on a happier note, they are the only ones who laugh at their dad jokes. their kids and wives all hate them but harry cracks up every time ron does a dad joke and vice versa, it encourages them to do even worse.
they both need each others help every.single.time. they need to buy a present for their wives and ginny and hermione know who picked the gift but they stay silent.
molly doesnât differentiate between them, at least thatâs what she says, but still she favours harry when they are both in trouble and ron has come to terms with it. he knows now that this doesnât mean she loves him more, it just means that molly will never be over harryâs childhood
ron figures he could have never liked anyone ginny got married to so it was lucky she was with harry and harry knows itâs lucky they are friends because ron would have despised him otherwise
since september 1, 1991 they have been unbreakable. even the strongest of relationships have problems along the road but they heal over time as everything does. if you asked anyone around them how they would describe harry and ronâs relationship you wouldnât get anything less than brothers. you might even get some who donât know how to explain it but everyone knows no one could have handled being the chosen oneâs best friend better and they know harry wouldnât have it any other way. every single step he has taken in his life, ron was there. this is not to say hermione wasnât there but harry was taken in by the weasleys and being a part of them in a way no one else is made their relationship stronger than any friendship anyone has come across. minerva says their friendship could only be rivaled by the friendship of james potter and sirius black and you know what? sheâs not wrong.
