How is Buckynat toxic to Nat or Bucky? How is it the worst ship in Marvel canon history?

If we’re talking MCU, then all the ships with Bucky are toxic because he has shot, choked, or tried to kill many Avengers. But I hear no mention of Steve getting shot in the gut or being choked multiple times for example. Sebastian went out of his way to make it clear that at one time the Winter Soldier was more cognizant than the man we saw in TWS and he had an actual personality. So this idea that Nat, who herself was brainwashed, took advantage of a brain damaged MCU Bucky exists in y'all wishes and dreams only.

If we’re talking comics, where is this toxicity? And why do y'all lie about the age difference between Bucky and Nat (stop lying she wasn’t a teen google is free) but never bring up BUCKY being a teen and Steve being an adult and Bucky’s father figure? Guess THAT’S not toxic.

I find it hilarious that this ship was widely perceived as one of the few equal and healthy Marvel comics ships and then 2014 TWS was released and all of sudden people are trying to call Buckynat toxic for reasons we all see as clear as day.

The place where people find the toxicity is in the uncertainty of the origin of the relationship in the MCU. If Bucky was a fully grown man and she was still a child at the time he and Natasha met, and they fell in love, THAT is where people start to get upset (because honestly that is gross.. I refuse to believe Bucky is a pedophile). If they pull it off, the MCU can give Bucky a meaningful relationship with Natasha, but they would have to rewrite an existing romance and make Natasha’s character deeper for it to work in any reasonable capacity.

But yeah, that’s where people get the whole “BuckyNat is toxic”

ok but 1) in the comics natasha was 28 when she met bucky who at the time was like 29-30 or smth so the fact that he trained her has NEVER meant that it was as a child/teenager and was COMPLETELY AND 100% made up by the fandom

2) do you rly think the mcu which is owned by fucking DISNEY is gonna have a grown ass man date a teenager and risk ppl boycotting their most profitable franchise? besides which, if natasha rly was born in 1984 like catws says and doesn’t have the super serum thingy that slows down her age like in the comics then she would’ve been 18 in 2002, and we know she was already working for SHIELD in 2010 which is when iron man 2 cams out. so even if by that point she had been working for them for 5 years, which seems like a reasonable if not generous amount of time, that would still give her 2-3 years of working for the KGB where she could’ve met bucky. so the timeline that already exists could work just fine. or they could reveal that she’s older than she says she is, just like in the comics, and then there’d be even less of a problem.

so basically all of this toxicity talk is coming from “WELL BUT IF…” scenarios and if that’s the case then i’m gonna start saying random shit like “well stucky is toxic bc bucky raped steve with his metal arm up his ass” and when ppl show me facts disproving that i’m gonna say “well but IF bucky did that it’d be ~toxic and ~abusive and i can’t ship that and neither can anyone else”

OMG THIS, I had forgotten about this part, which probably influenced a lot, the stucky/evanstan shippers sent hate to Margarita openly, spammed her Instagram with “Evanstan is real”, telling that he cheated on her with his friend and etc … If you think that Sebastian didn’t saw it and hated it, you guys are very much mistaken. I remember he said about the disrespect with her “you insult the people in my life, you insult me”. Some of you (I’m not generalizing), with these attitudes, won the disrespect not only of the fandom but of Sebastian himself.
