Narcissa was quite close to Regulus, as children they were always kind to each other
Or at least she treated Regulus a lot better than Sirius, those two never really got along.
Nevertheless, she was a big part of Regulus’ childhood and growing up.
She was the only one to greet him with open arms at Slytherin table his first year, just like her sisters had done for her.
Especially during their year at Hogwarts together, Narcissa learned to care about Regulus quite a bit.
Since he was so distraught over Sirius still not speaking to him, Narcissa made it quite clear he could always find comfort in her.
She even acted like somewhat of a motherly figure, making sure he was doing his homework, keeping on top of his grades, going to bed at a decent hour.
When she was out of Hogwarts, she would send Regulus little gift baskets, since Walburga only sent him baskets around holidays.
She sent them twice a week, they included little sweets and treats, and books to keep him occupied, and of course a hand written letter.
After Narcissa married Lucius and moved into Malfoy Manor, she would have Regulus over for lunch twice a month.
She was not aware of his intentions of becoming a Death Eater, he had not told her because he knew what she was going to say.
She wanted better for him; she saw how Lucius came home every night, bruised and beaten up. It was too late for her husband, but Regulus still had a choice.
This was until the day he received his mark, Narcissa was there at that meeting. Voldemort wanted her there, he didn’t explain why beforehand, she figured it was just to see her pain.
The last time she spoke to Regulus, they were having a scream-off over Regulus’ joining the Death Eaters and their dangerous tasks.
They never even said good bye to each other.
