**How long will you stay (for your whole life) - Kirk/McCoy, Spock/Uhura - STAR TREK/PARKS AND REC FUSION!! Kirk as Leslie and McCoy as Ben and Spock as fucking Ron Swanson. I literally cannot. I was getting up and walking away from my laptop while reading this bc my eyes could no longer handle the glory of what I was reading. If you read nothing else from this rec list, read this.
Kitchen Consequential - McCoy/Kirk, Uhura/Spock, Chekov/Sulu, Gaila/Scotty - I thought this was going to be a run of the mill trek-character-in-other-professions fic, but it wasn’t. It was surprisingly very heartfelt and wonderful. I especially liked Kirk and Spock’s friendship, since Spock is typically ignored in McCoy/Kirk fics. idk man, this fic is just really good. As ridiculous as Executive Chief Jim Kirk sounds, I promise this is a good read.
10 seconds in heaven - Kirk/McCoy - basically, the first time they have sex it’s a disaster and it’s hilarious.
Devil went down to Georgia - Kirk/McCoy - Kirk is a retired captain at like, 33 and goes to live in Georgia, where he meets a married McCoy. Romance novel shit goes down and I hated most of this fic, tbh. I didn’t like the relationship between Kirk and McCoy at all. It was annoyed and just no. BUT! I did love all of the side characters in this so, so fucking much. Spock and T’Pring, Gaila and Uhura. SULU! I wanted to rec this fic when I got to the bit where Spock chases after a greased pig. I- yes. Everything but the romantic aspects of this fic were pure fucking gold.
I especially loved Jim in his scene with Kor the Klingon and the Romulan ambassador. You’ll know what I mean when you get there. It’s fucking beautiful and made me love Jim Kirk in ways I cannot express.
The electric cat planet, or, a day in the life of leonard mccoy - McCoy/ofc, Spock/Kirk - McCoy’s got himself a vulcan girlfriend, but he’s still kind of a racist. He’s working on it. There’s an electric cat too, which is pretty rad.
Liberties - Spock/Kirk - This is just really fucking cute, and I like the author’s summary so I’ll just use that: “In which Kirk precipitates an unintended cultural exchange, Spock develops a drinking problem, and the crew stages an intervention, but not the kind Kirk was expecting.”
I really liked Liberties bc it had a nice little twist I really appreciated and thought was realistic and cool. I’d never seen it in a fic before, and likely wont again.

This is just really cute, okay? Bones was awesome, oh my god. Going on and on about how Jim shouldn’t have had sex with Spock bc he is allergic to everything. And Chekov! with Gary Mitchell!
Atlas - Spock/Kirk - everyone who is anyone has recced this fic. Honestly, I didn’t even enjoy it much after the stuff with Kodos. Yeah, it was fantastically written, but I disliked most of the super spy!kirk stuff. I am going to add it to this list though bc all of the stuff before that was pure fucking gold. This fic made me almost like Jonathan Archer, and that is really saying a lot.
Magpie - Kirk/Spock - I have actually already recced this fic, but let me do it again bc it is amazing! I love Stonn and T’Pring and Number One. Sybok! Basically, Jim and Spock meet when they are very young, and everything is completely different except that it’s really not. Jim is such a little dickhole, but what else is there to be expected?
Take refuge in what you know - Spock/Kirk - this is really very excellent. Spock is agoraphobic, which is Hell on a human being, but worse of a vulcan. I could have done without all the sex in this fic (which I know is a huge draw for many of you!) bc I was so interested in the way the author described and then displayed the differences in human and vulcan psychology. It was so fucking cool, man.
Decimation - fem!Kirk/Spock - Jane Kirk seduces her first officer using regulation uniforms and being a bad-as-fuck bitch.
I really loved this fic a lot. Jane is a fucking bamf, and her relationships with her crew, and not just Spock, where really interesting. Especially Bones. Poor, poor Bones.
Only Good for Legends - Spock/Kirk - sighs forever bc this fic is real and I didn’t dream it up. Spock is a detective in San Fran who gets transferred to Riverside for a while. There he meets and arrests Jim Kirk. I love, love, love this fic. There were explosions, epic romances, vulcan cultural stuff, overly protective Kirks, everything I love in life.
The Prophecy of Apollo - Kirk/Spock - UNFINISHED!! Basically, it’s a reworking of the Eros and Psyche myth. It’s pretty good, but it’s not likely ever going to be finished.
Illogical series - Kirk/Spock - pretty much the Good Will Hunting fusion I didn’t know I needed.
**A Beginner’s Guide to Vulcan Sexual Practice, by Captain James T. Kirk - Kirk/Spock - Vulcan’s have a lot of rules about sex, and Kirk tries really hard to find the loopholes. It’s a riot.
With my feet toward the stars (let me remember you as you were when you existed) - Kirk/Spock - The Enterprise becomes a sentient being, but Spock’s the only one who can talk to her bc she can only speak telepathically. They are both in love with Jim Kirk. It is not a happy story except that it is. The writing style is beautiful and it makes everything seem both hopeless and hopeful at the same time.
**For the gladness of you - Kirk/Spock - jesus, I cried. I cried so much. the writing style is disjointed and strange, but it only lends to the story’s overall perfection. I cannot stress enough how amazing this is. It’s so fucking beautiful, and it leaves the reader feeling broken and raw inside. It hurts so much. Jim with his rocks, I-. In all honesty, I’m getting a little misty eyed just thinking about it.
I can’t even properly describe what this fic is about bc I don’t want to give anything away. Just read it. You wont be sorry.

My Notes: While this fic is not the most flattering portrayal of Uhura, it doesn't fail to show her as a real and genuine person who really is trying very hard. I like this fic because it does a good job showing the nuances of Spock and Jim's friendship, as well as the dual nature's of Spock's human and Vulcan sides. This fic really shows him as being more than a slightly emotional Vulcan- it shows that he really is part of both worlds, and that there is an inherent and dismissive fallacy in treating him as jsy a Vulcan.

My Notes: It is always an incredible challenge to find OT3 fics that are not primarily porn. This is one of the rare ones. This story focuses on the building of the relationship between the three of them, and on how much Spock and Uhura still have to work on the be together. They are certainly not the perfect couple that Kirk is just stumbling in on- every facet of the relationship is explored. Told though Uhura's point of view, this story develops the relationship between the three of them into something powerful and lovely.

My Notes: This story is absolutely amazing, one of my personal favorites. The story ventures from Kirk's rescue from Tarsus IV all the way past the events of the 2009 film. The premise of the story is that the Kelvin crew regarded Kirk as an honrary crew member, and this story has a fantastic Vulcan!OC who takes Kirk under his wing when Kirk is still damaged and hurting from Tarsus. It has emotional highs and lows, with absolutely gut-punching but not over-stated emotional scenes that are balanced perfectly with scens that make you laugh out loud.

My Notes: If you've gone any length of time in the Star Trek fandom without reading this story, you are seriously missing out. One of the best long stories out there. A fantastic look into the destruction of Vulcan and the possible aftermath. A wonderful slow build to a relationship, which is only complicated by the addition of a child. I would even go so far as to call this a family story- not just with Kirk and Spock and child, but with the entire Enterprise. You really get the impression that everyone on this ship is their own little family and it's beautiful.
