My friends got married in Hong Kong and then we went to Macau to celebrate (it's just 1.5 by ferry from HK and Chinese Shenzhen). Yes, the bride was wearing a crown because why not! It was the second time I was taking ferry to Macau and like last time I had an inexplicable urge to read Salinger on my way to this city. And I was reading over 'Raise high the roof beams, carpenters'. It was ages since I read the story, I think it was in my 10th grade. And every time I fall in love with every word again and again and again.

I am such a slowpoke about emotions. It does takes time for me to understand how I really feel about this or that. I may be excited about something at the beginning but never ever give a thought about it after one week. And this happened to my trip to Taiwan that happened over a month ago. Taiwan was so normal that I didn’t really feel very much exited or anything, it was calm and peace together. And just now I start to understand how I miss the place. I do want to write a longer post on my trip so that maybe it could be of any help to those who are planning to visit it but a bit later. These pictures I took in a town of Jiufen. Some say it was an inspiration for Miyazaki’s ‘Spirited Away’, but it’s not true :P The place wasn’t really special, I’ve been to many similar old streets in China before, but the nature was astonishing. Before Jiufen was famous for gold mining and it still has an old factory which is closed now (and it looks terrific, all green and had layers like a cake), we wanted to go there but it’s not convenient to climb through fences wearing a dress, so next time. And on the way back to Taipei we stopped the car at the foothill of the factory to stand and stare at the ocean waves crushing against breakwaters.

I watched "Chungking Express" over and this time I totally fell in love. It was necessary to watch it one more time as I had a chance to look at it from quite a different angle, discover details that at first were unnoticed. The movie became so famous abroad because of Quentin Tarantino (💜) who liked it very much and decided to promote it in America. He said: "I just started crying" while watching the picture not because it was said but because "I'm just so happy to love a movie this much" and this is EXACTLY how I feel about "Chungking Express", I cannot add more. And P.S. At first I surely liked Tony Leung but looks like I am having a crush on Takeshi Kaneshiro now Не могу говорить о любви по-английски всё-таки. Вонг Кар-вай совершенно " мой " режиссёр, в "Экспрессе" всё такое родное, и влюблённая Вэй Фонг, утопившая самолёт в аквариуме, и Такеси Канесиро, который идёт бегать, потому что он сильно вспотеет, и тогда в нём не останется жидкости для слёз, и Тони Люн, отчитывающий мыло за то, что оно похудело, и кантонский язык, и сумасшедший Гонконг. Эх, Азия, дорогая, что же ты делаешь со мной! Оказывается, о любви я и по-русски говорю не очень. Рецензии писать не умею и не хочу, ну а объяснять, почему и за что ты любишь не стоит и пытаться, по крайней мере, мне. Тарантино в яблочко попал. Просто посмотрите и пересмотрите Chungking Express, а лучше не делайте этого, а то вдруг влЮбитесь тоже, я буду ревновать!

Every time I read Harry Potter over I discover a new favourite character. The first time I read the Deathly Hallows it was Snape (whom I despice now), last time I especially liked Sirius and Weesley twins and this time it is Regulus Black. How come I didn't notice he was cool before? P.S. actually I stopped reading HP because audiobook in Steven Fry's narration exists. Wonder if I ever want to read the book.
