I am legit falling in love with Kendra. She looked so gorgeous and radiant at the gender reveal. She seems so sweet and outgoing and happy. I think if she went to college she would’ve been really fun and involved on campus. She’s my imaginary fundie best friend.

I think it is fair to have a “problematic fundie fave”- and mine is totally Kendra as well. I just like watching the parts of Counting On focused on Joe & Kendra the most. And she did look good at the birthday party/gender reveal!

I just watched Kendra’s birth special (the only episode I’ve watched since season 1 of the new show) and ugh ya she’s definitely my problematic fav. If it weren’t for her beliefs, she is definitely someone I would want to be friends with. She just seems so fun and seems like she would be a real supportive friend.

hi anon! first off, welcome to fundie tumblr! second, a terf is a trans exclusatory radical feminist. essentially what this means is that they don’t believe trans women to be women or trans men to be men— they often fall on a line of firmly believing that a person’s genetic makeup dictates their gender and that trans women are perverted, attention seeking, and/or just confused gay men or drag queens. here on fundie tumblr, the widely vast majority of us firmly believe that transfolk are valid and that gender is not dictated by genetics but rather it is dictated solely by personal expression. hope this answered your question!

Honestly I’m so proud of Jill for doing this. Hair can become like a security blanket, especially since she grew up being taught that women must have long hair. It seems like she’s really trying to push away from the Duggar stereotype (obvs not her beliefs, but grooming styles, clothing, piercings). Little steps make for big changes.

there’s levels of Christianity for sure and this I just can’t get behind. Because it leads you to believe that if she doesn’t “rise from the dead” then Jesus wasn’t supporting you or you didn’t pray hard enough or something. To pray for someone sick or in critical condition I get but I feel like if you’re that religious you understand they’re now with god? It’s certainly absolutely heartbreaking to lose a child, but I can’t imagine how much worse it is just waiting for her to come back.

I had to quite at 1:23 because I started crying. I'm sorry, but that's child abuse. I was homeschooled and benefitted from that and I know that it is the right decision for some people (although if I have kids I will not make that same decision), but i have also seen abuse in homeschool situations and that is 1000000% abuse, or at least toxic. To tell a kid that you're keeping them from the outside world to protect them, to make then fearful of influences outside of their parents, is horrifying and heartbreaking.
