Is anyone curious of my tag system?
The people have spoken, I shall do it
So, I'm finally writing this down.
I decided I'd tag stuff to save it with "[word in Italian].fey". The word doesn't always make sense in just Italian, but I understand my system is it's ok.
Now you'll be able to understand it too :)
- #salva.fey: general saving tag, it's the first one I started using. "salva" simply means "save".
- #utile.fey: I realized that finding posts with useful links and stuff I might actually need would have been able (since I kinda flooded my first saving tag with a lot of reblogs), so all the useful links and resources are saved on this tag ("utile" means "useful").
- #visto.fey: another problem I realized was that if I wanted to find famous Tumblr posts (=posts I'd already seen somewhere, or that I had reblogged some time before and got the notes curse in the meantime) I saved, I'd have to find them in a sea of "random" saved posts. So "#visto.fey" was born! "visto", in this context, means "seen", so it's literally "posts I've already seen that I want to save".
- #politica.fey: I don't reblog "politics" posts that often anymore, but I used to. I started tagging them to save good points people were making, that I'd been struggling to find the words to explain myself. Then, I also started using it so people that didn't want to see the many war-and-stuff related posts could block the tag. Now sometimes I remember to put the tag, sometimes is forger, but the posts really few compared to when I started using it. "politica", in this context, means "politics" (yeag, obvious)
- #queer.fey: This time the word isn't in Italian. It's pretty self-explanatory, it's a tag I started using it to save queer related stuff :). Since we're on topic: fuck terfs and don't be exclusionists :)
- #punto.fey: This is an interesting one (to me). I wanted to differentiate between random saved posts and posts that were making good points, that I could borrow to explain things to people (I feel like I'm never able to get my point across when talk with people irl). "punto" literally means "point", but in Italian it's not used in the same way as in English, that's why I think it's interesting :).
- #consiglio.fey: We're getting to the more recent tags. This one is a mix. It works a bit like #utile.fey, but it's not specifically for links and resources, but for general Life Advice. Sometimes it's something useful for The Now, sometimes it's useful for Later, when I'm More Adult. "consiglio" means "advice" (fun fact: "advice", in Italian, is countable. It's very weird that it isn't in English to me '>.>)
- #collezione.fey: another very new tag! :) there aren't that many posts here. It's kind of a subtag of #visto.fey, here I save the collections of similar posts people share. Feel free to look through it to see exactly what I mean. "collezione" means "collection" (another obvious one)
- #originale.fey: you might have noticed I don't make posts that often ('>.>), I mostly reblog them, so I've recently created this tag to find the few posts I make. "originale" means, brace yourselves, "original".
- #gioco.fey: ask games and other related tumblr things
- #risposta.fey: answers to asks
Bonus tags:
- #gender: before I started using the tag system, I saved some posts with Gender. I should re-tag them all with "gender.fey", but I haven't had the time to yet.
- #gender?: It's a subtag of #gender. I started using it for gender-adjecent posts. Because it's a subtag of Gender, all of the posts tagged with Gender? are also tagged with Gender, so they read "#gender? #gender". I realized way too late that it looked like "Is it gender? Hell yeah", but it actually means the opposite. (did I think of making this post just to clear up this possible misunderstanding? Yes, yes I did)
- #me: at first this one wasn't part of the tag system, but since I had tagged some things with it, I decided to count it. In my mind, this shouldn't be replaced with "me.fey"
- #for my gf: I have a girlfriend!! She's amazing!!! These are the posts I save for her. I started tagging them in case she wants to look through them without having to find all of the links I send her. Now you can too
