Last year JK Rowling personally funded a group called Sex Matters to amend UK law so that trans women *overnight* went from legally women to legally men. This has resulted in mass exclusion of the trans community from numerous organizations, along with ongoing violent assaults on both trans and cis women alike.

With the new Harry Potter series she will be making a reported $20 million per-season renewal + other performance dependent royalties. She has been open across multiple interviews regarding her intentions to use said funds to push forth even more trans targeted legislation in the years to come.

This isn’t a “she gets paid no matter what” situation. The more eyeballs on this show the more money she has to actively harm vulnerable communities. By engaging with it you are directly supporting this and otherwise making a conscious choice to consume HP over doing the literal very least possible to not destroy the lives of trans people across the world.

If my stating the objective facts above upsets you then feel free to unfriend and move along. Your nostalgia-goggles feelings for a tired, problematic franchise mean nothing to me compared to the welfare of my trans friends and loved ones."

It's so weird to me that blocking has turned into such a serious thing only reserved for if someone did something wrong. I witnessed some discourse a few months ago around some content creator blocking someone and it blew up. They were harassed for "blocking someone for no reason". And I was like ??? cause there was a reason. They simply didn't want to see the blocked person's posts.

Blocking does not have to be some big gesture. I block people for being assholes but I'm also willing to block someone for giving a dumb take about my fav character. I've blocked people because I was tired of seeing their posts in a tag I'm browsing. I've blocked people who had opinions I agreed with but they were an ass about it. I've blocked people simply because I didn't like their personality or the vibe they gave off.

It's not that deep. You don't have to save blocking for "bad" people. If it brings you peace then do it. I promise you that you'll enjoy your internet experience much more if you block instead of engaging with the thing that's upsetting you.

Furthermore ☝️ birth control is NOT the only medication available to help. Medication such as aygestin is available, and while it is not a cure and does not work for everyone it is still an option. You likely do NOT have to just "take ibuprofen" and suffer like so many uneducated doctors tell people.

Endo is often invisible on ultrasound and can only be directly found/diagnosed/treated through a laparoscopy.

Endo can affect many parts of the body and even "glue" itself to organs. It is a serious condition and your pain is not an overreaction.

some of you think ‘nuanced’ only means ‘morally grey’ and I’m here to tell you that actually straight up good characters can still be nuanced and unapologetically evil characters can still be nuanced. the character doesn’t have to be an anti hero or morally dubious to have depth. they don’t even have to feel sorry about their crimes to have depth.

Sick/recovering whumpee stuff (with Caretaker + others all living in the same house found family style)

Whumpee who’s so exhausted from having a hard time keeping anything down that they’re just kinda out of it and unable to hold conversations

Caretaker helping Whumpee bathe, stepping in more and more as their energy depletes - by the end of it they’re helping Whumpee sit upright as they gently rinse shampoo out of their hair

Whumpee who’s unable to express to Caretaker the relief they feel to be clean by the end of it except for hums (Caretaker can tell by how much calmer they seem afterwards)

Whumpee in too much pain/too exhausted to do much except lie down on the couch, but they’re so happy to just be in the living room. Caretaker and their chosen family/roomates/etc do normal house stuff and chat with each other. Whumpee’s just glad they’re not alone

Caretaker keeping Whumpee steady as they walk to the dining table while everyone else cooks their own meals

Caretaker quickly heats up some soup for Whumpee before making themselves a sandwich, knowing Whumpee takes longer to get through meals

When they feel well enough, Whumpee is able to eat with the rest of the group, and is tasked with dish drying duty afterwards as they can do that sitting down (and still participate in tasks)

Caretaker braiding Whumpee’s hair when they’re too tired to do it themselves. Being gentle but still getting all the knots out, going slower when they notice Whumpee tensing

Caretaker and Whumpee sitting on the bathroom floor, Caretaker talking about anything that comes to their mind. Gently filling in the silence as they wait for Whumpee’s dizziness to go away so they don’t pass out/get sick again on the way back out

Whumpee and the blanket that’s been with them all through their recovery.

Caretaker buying it at the closest store to the hospital because the hospital blankets were thin and scratchy and even though Whumpee’s standards were low, Caretaker wanted them to have better.

Curled up in the front seat on the way home, blanket around their shoulders, while caretaker pulls through the drive through pharmacy to pick up their prescriptions after yet another check up.

Whumpee laying on the couch, completely covered aside from their head, watching reruns. Whumpee wearing it around their shoulders around the house. Packing it for every trip, every doctors appointment, everything.

Curling up in bed at night with the first thing that had been given to them to show that things were going to get better.
